I said late in the last thread I can see the Flames steamrolling the Nucks in their last 4 games so if the Habs want a playoff spot they need to take 1 point in the next 2 games. Otherwise it's a long off season with what I can only imagine would (at least should) include more changes at the top.
Without Dano I see it as a huge challenge containing McDavid. So let him rip and get his four points and maybe they'll elect to rest him on Wednesday and we'll have a better shot at winning. LB is back tonight, but no one else. Lep, TFS, BBQ, Druid... that's a big hunk of salary on the sidelines.
dammit steve! be more clear when you talking! i hate your cryptic mind puzzles. are you talking about that dream team coaching line-up? or the documentary about the unbeleafable division champions?
We git a tean thant giddy up to the playoff line but they do not seem to have a half step left. If they make the playoffs the teams know plow horses win over stallions. We got no stallions just a few mustangs and some ready for glue.
Today is my birthday and I always consider it a bonus when the Habs' season is ongoing on this date, funky Covid-season notwithstanding, JFW, boys! GYFMHG and punch your ticket to the post-season tonight!
'sigh'.... bruuuuutal miss by sEvans on that great play by LB. by then fantastic goal by the kid to (kinda) make-up for it? unbe-leaf-able let up allowing them a softie to tie it up.
fml... out of that i should happy for that wonderful goal... but in my world, sEvans should have had 2 already and it perfectly represents why he/they struggle to fend on husqy off the roster. perfect example of the criticism he and leky, and (sometimes LB), and lego get.
where is mikey ribs when you need somebody to teach these guys how to finish...
Habs are backing into this final playoff spot - playing like the 24th place team they were last year.. Not holding out much hope here if I am honest...
i agree. right or wrong, it was decided by one man. in the moment, on the spot, with only once chance to get it right, w/o the help of instant replay. with the eyes of the world on microscrutinising your decsion, your ceiling is ever only going to please 1/2 the audience.
now, with all this 'technology' and inconsistent rules governing it's use.. it harkens back to the good old days. should you benefit, you gotta be good to be lucky. should you be screwd over, thats the way the ball bounces. something innocent and pure about that.
St.P: you right about that. for situations where split hair is the difference, its better to let play on and let technology decide it later. but if that becomes normal, or is standardised, then whats the point of a linesman except to drop the puck? im all for it when used to enhance the game, not to make referees cowards.
Boy KK is really battling the puck. Not playing well at all. Somebody left the can of Tuna open on the counter for a few days, definitely off and missing his linemates. Czar was not good. Why the hell are you anchoring Bilbo with the two fucking Ents?
Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume? Lord Stanley I presume?
That one loser point probably kept bergy his job for another year. Geoff Molson is a fanboy owner who hasn't got a clue how to run a pro hockey team. bergy has him convinced just making the playoffs, and I mean JUST, is a success. We'll see if a quick exit makes Molson think any differently. I doubt it.
Man, the build up to this series by the SFU is going to be unbe-leaf-able just like their North Division championship. The league might as well hand over the Cup to the leaf right now.
Best case scenario is the mediots pump their boys' tires til they believe the hype. Mr. BBQ and TFS, they of "rest is a weapon" famous quotes, will have their chance to put paid to that.
I was talking with an Ontarian colleague and lifelong Leaf fan this morning, and he is scared his leaf will fold under the returning Lep, Dano and aforementioned. He sees Toffee and CHommodore with their fancy Stanley Cup rings. He sees all kinds of trouble up and down the Habs lineup. Okay, I said. But a lot has to fall right into place. In any event, should be fun.
I think old ruby DBMG has the dumpster team he thinks can bring down the capital city in the revolution, like hunger games, or when 12 CIA cowboys conquered Aftaganisxst on horseback. We are there right now at the gates of the castle armed with lots of non mobile defense man and fast forward who can not score, and centers who cant win a face off. Look it a lot better odds than the Blue bro faced. The entemental blocks of stanely cup victory are there, only the Gods will decide if they fit together.
I dont want money, I dont want to be made an assitant coach, I just want a seat at the parade. I solved the Hysicvaia problem https://www.blessthisstuff.com/stuff/vehicles/motorcycles/husqvarna-vektorr-electric-scooter/
The PR Machine out of T.O. this year has been a new kind of determined to paint a brand new picture of 18 years of losing. The new story is, "it didn't happen, and we are the best sports franchise in the world".
On TSN690 this a.m., it was mentioned the Canadiens haven't enjoyed two days of practice together since February. Julien had earlier complained of missing out on a proper training camp to start the 56-game season. Here we have a week to work on systems, tweak little bad habits out of young players' games, go over video and/or let aches and pains heal up a bit. Preparation. I say, bring 'em on. Bring on the SFUs team, and we shall see if Craig Button gets a surprise or two. GYFMRHG
It's official. First Habs-Leafs series since 1979 is on!
How far back is that? - The Clash had just released London Calling and Queen and Bowie were still two years away from recording Under Pressure. - Jagmeet Singh was three months old. - Mary Pickford and John Wayne were still breathing oxygen. - Voyager 1 had just passed Jupiter and we still thought Saturn had exactly three rings. - Olivia Newton John had not yet made leg warmers a thing. - Joe Thornton was a rookie.
So the last game tomorrow is completely meaningless. Good. In fact, all four teams in the North are locked in their spots. Only TV ad revenue keeps the remaining games relevant. Will the NHL cancel the last two or three Canucks-Flames games now to movd up the playoffs a couple of days? Dumber things have happened in Buttman's NHL.
So if the game is meaningless, let TFS play to see if he's gonna be match ready for whenever the playoffs start. No Gally! Let the kids play and hope Toff can grab a pair to hit 30 for the season. And I would be re-miss if I didn';t mention that in May 1979 Margaret Thatcher became the first female PM of the UK (I admit I googled that - other search engines are available)
And is it might just be me - but I am in no way excited about the upcoming laffland circle jerk for 7 games that we'll have to endure - the broadcasts are going to be unbearable. I pity those of you who read or watch any Canadian based sports TV news too...at least I am spared that. Just STFU, play the games and see what happens when it's over...cause I have no idea who is going to show up and play. DD has proven beyond a doubt in my mind that he's not actually driving the team. He's still referring to his CJ notebook under the section: "Which vets to use in each situation", followed by the "Here's when you make sure to not play the new guys...because, you know, they are new guys and the vets - they know how to play the game"...
I have not looked at the leafnet site in months. I boycott suckup eric engels. I stay away from the #torontosportsnetwork and all tranna newspapers. I want to watch the series but at the same time I don't. If I do the sound will be off. I refuse to listen to any stu bullshit.
Frankie Legault should keep his bigot mouth out of hockey as he concentrates on tightening up the repressive language laws of this place. Just sayin Go Habs
That has to be the cleanest ass ever.
ReplyDeleteYep no Covid on that butt.

DeleteOTOH I see he has his 100 already and therefore I expect he will be relaxed and nonchalant for tonight's game. One can hope.
ReplyDeleteI think they should sick 7evans on him but will probably fall to Suzuki. ABS. Anybody But Staal.
DeleteYou doubt the Hsuquavia? Have you ever and you should because it was made in the East Hobo with a Chainsaw?
DeleteThis isn't a possibility but you know what would be fun? Roy as GM/Torts as Coach. Guy Boucher as an assistant for some extra rage/fun/flair.

Of course if he scores the first one, everything else changes from that point on and he doesn't have that same chance for the one he actually scored.
DeleteMaybe the Oilers don't score at all. Or score 4 instead of 2....
Delete2 positives.
ReplyDeleteJake Evans
Dan Robertson and MJ.
Mikey ribs is diddling the babysitter
ReplyDeleteyeah... and your point? you just proved exactly what i was trying to say: the guy scores.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fuckin play !
ReplyDeleteBeing reviewed for offside…
ReplyDeleteNo goal
DeleteDamn!
ReplyDeleteI miss the days before video replays and when linesmen had to do their fucking jobs.
ReplyDeleteSee I'm the opposite because I've seen them blow some offsides that aren't offside and ruin a good rush.

i know... i sound like an old man.
Still a fantastic play and I like the fact the linesman let a close play go and figure it out later. Leko was pretty far over though.
ReplyDeleteSt.P: you right about that. for situations where split hair is the difference, its better to let play on and let technology decide it later. but if that becomes normal, or is standardised, then whats the point of a linesman except to drop the puck? im all for it when used to enhance the game, not to make referees cowards.

hay.... im still thinking about that screengrab from tsn. why the highlited circles on the unbe-laugh-able headlines? what am i missing?
DeleteStill an outside chance that the Habs meet the Oilers in round 1.
DeleteThe SFU mediots and the leafools are salivating, for what ?
These stupid fucks deserve a major slap upside their blue and white heads.
Never pre-select your opponent.
all day long the SFU has been dumping on the Habs like they are an afterthought.
