  1. I admit this really ripped me last night.

Happens right after the big Habs win.

    Fuck I miss Gordie.

    1. Sometimes life just throws shit at you.
Pandemic, not seeing my daughter, family, friends, colleagues.
The loss of so many lives due to Covid19.
The sickening issue of the lost Indigenous children.
Lesser though impactful, this hockey season>playoffs.

  2. Some songs are just perfect;

‘It’s a Good Life If You Don’t Weaken’

When the color of the night
And all the smoke for one life
    Gives way to shaky movements
    Improvisational skills
    A forest of whispering speakers
    Let's swear that we will
    Get with the times
In a current health to stay
    Let's get friendship right
    Get life day to day
In the forget yer skates dream
    Full of countervailing woes
    In diverse as ever scenes
Proceeding on a need to know
In a face so full of meaning
As to almost make it glow
    For for a good life
We just might have to weaken
    And find somewhere to go
    Go somewhere we're needed
    Find somewhere to grow
    Go somewhere we're needed
When the color of the night
And all the smoke in one life
    Gives way to shaky movements
    Improvisational skills
In the forest of whispering speakers
    Let's swear that we will
    Get with the times
In a current health to stay
    And let's get friendship right
    Get life day to day
In the forget yer skates dream
    Full of countervailing woes
    In diverse as ever scenes
Proceeding on a need to know
In a face so full of meaning
As to almost make it glow
    For for a good life
We just might have to weaken
    And find somewhere to go
    Go somewhere we're needed
    Find somewhere to grow
    Go somewhere we're needed
    Find somewhere to go
    Let's go somewhere we're needed
    Find somewhere to grow
    Go where we're needed
    'Cause in the forget-yer-skates dream
You can hang your head in woe
And this diverse as ever scene
    Know which way to go

    1. A beautifully hypnotic song, so well sung by Feist (and I bet her pal Sarah Harmer would also kick singing it - she has more power in her voice).

    2. Love Sarah.

Also a big fan of Serena Ryder.

  3. Beautiful stuff. On the SFU mediots, recall they are trained to hype Total BS for a living. They see true class in this team, its players its management, and they fucking stumped! They don't know how to deal AT ALL. They can't fathom it. So in that fucked-up Habs hating mindset of course TFS embellishes, and of course they cannot believe what their lying eyes are telling them.

  5. Gonna address Oleg's comment from the last thread - cause it's worth stating again! - Oleg - I gotta strongly disagree with you here - As our fearless leader Moeman has already stated - We ain't fuckin' won shit" - OK - so I paraphased somewhat but you get the drift I trust. Habs gotta win 16 games and if TFS has to play them all, so be it. Any changes to key personnel right now will only motivate the Jets. TFS is in the ZONE! you don't ever fuck with the ZONE! If Dish has a broke finger, bring in Romanov (Czar?)...but otherwise you don't change the lineup. You win Game 4 tonight then the Habs get a nice rest. Remember also what TFS hjimself said "They don't hang division banners up here" NEVER FUCK WITH THE ZONE!

    1. Oh yeah. Every word.

    2. good reply uk3x.

i can respect your answer, but the motivation behind asking those questions is b/c i am always worried about the worst case scenario. what if this happens, what could they have done different?

as reference, im using the zednick incident and then the gryba hit and then the kryder disaster. when those things happened, they couldnt get up. similarly, tavares + sxxxfly + stasny = two teams incapable of beating the 10 count. if something happens to them, i wanna be sure, we gave the understudy proper chance.

this is the theory behind using closers in baseball and using your starter for only the 1st 5-6 innings in playoffs?

      Delete
    3. Fair play. I think Alain more than proved himself this year. Habs don't make the playoffs without him. I don't know if the baseball analogy works in hockey though. Pulling a goalie in the zone makes the opposition say "Ha, these fuckers think we are beaten. Let's show 'em". Playing TFS tonight says "You haven't beat me yet, and tonight's not your night either"... Just Fucking Win!

      Delete
    4. Good points oleg, but UK3X is right about the difference between the two sports' culture. A starting pitcher only goes every three or four as a rule. I don't think it would hurt to play Pomme/Snake if TFS is too worn-down to do back-to-backs (insane and unheard of in the playoffs for a reason), but at the same time, the momentum is so strong I think it's best not to shake it up.

      Delete
    5. the karamasio bo ru and the Kryder disaster, these are not the same

  6. Tremendous! Man, Gord was a masterful poet though wasn't he? Of all the 'celebrity' deaths, he and Robin Williams hit me the hardest. Even though we saw Gord's coming from a mile away and Robin's was a sudden gut punch, I found both equally devastating.

Win tonight and you rest until at least Saturday. That alone is worth the fight. Added bonus, Shitfly would still be suspended for game 1 next season. If Dish hasn't had his chip epoxied yet, I hope we see Czar but I'm afraid we'll see XO instead.

    And never forget to JFW.

  70. Any stats on length of break between playoff series and success? I recall HNIC was quoting a few stats about teams with long layoffs who lost in the next round (this was after Winnipeg’s 9 day layoff). Google had nothing for me. I think four days rest would be ideal.
