I can see clearly now the leaf is gone.
Habs can see Vegass obstacles in their way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.

It's gonna be a bright (bright)
    Bright (bright) sunshiny day.
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
    Bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Oh, yes Habs can make it now the Jets are gone.
All of the bad FHFeelings have disappeared.
Here is that rainbow we’ve been praying for.

It's gonna be a bright (bright)
    Bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Look all around, there's nothing but red, white and blue skies.
Look at Toronto and Niagara, nothing but red, white and blue skies.

We can see clearly now Covid is almost gone.
We can see all vaccinations save the day.

Here is that rainbow I've been praying for.
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
    Bright (bright) sunshiny day.

  2. Decided I'd put SN Central on the radio in the background whilst I work to hear all about the Habs.
    So far:
    21 minutes on Isles/Bolts
8 minuts on LV/Habs - about 3 of those on the Habs, with the consensus being they 'could' steal a game or two but basically have no chance.

Just back after a news break and they're back to TB/NYI...after first discussing whether the leaf should sign Dougie Hamilton.

    1. Now 49 minutes past the hour. We have an additional 17 minutes of talking Islanders hockey with John Bartlett and idiot Marek asks about what insights Gawley can offer since he spent a season on Long Island. Holy fuck, this is terrible.

      Delete
    2. Finishing up with final thoughts. Can Habs score enough vs best defense in NHL? Doubtful. Idiot Stewie predicts OT.

      The End.

SN Central = pure stinky shite. Funny how nobody mentions that Avs and Golden PeePees played 3 bottom feeders all season -- Arizona, Anaheim and LA -- to pad their stats. The SFU only see what they want too. Fuck'em.

    4. This series comes down to the UTES, can they UTE enough. That is the x factor and you never bet agaist a motivated UTE>

      Delete
    5. That's an excellent point, the M. The North had no bottom-feeders, all teams were medium-tough to very tough opponents.

  10. Habs v Nords from the 84 playoffs on NHL Classics. Steve Penney. Naslund and Nilan on a line. Carbo and Gainey together. Lafleur and Robinson the only helmet less players. Bruce Hood the line zebra. Good times.

  11. Vegas game starts at 2 am UK time, so like 29, I am not actually here... If I was here however I would say simply... JUST FUCKING WIN!

  12. Ran out to McD's to grab a coffee to help get me through the game. Then I spiked it with Jamieson's...so it may not have the desired effect I was shooting for.

    ReplyDelete
  13. After 134 penalty minutes for the Nords and 118 for the Habs, down 2 zip in the third. 2 goals by Shutt to tie it up. 2nd a beauty pass by the little Viking.
Oh bam! 3-2 on a blast by Rick Green! 8 minutes to go. OMF, I see now why our HF29 chose that number as #29 John Chabot gets the insurance market. 4-2!
    Damn....5-2 Caro scores!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ok now 2021 Habs...JFW like those '84 guys I just watched! Well not in the same manner, not sure how these Habs would fair in a bench clearing brawl. And win more than those guys. Nevermind, win like the 86 or 93 guys...

  22. I'm seriously trying to comprehend whom is gaining what from this Kes's house shit. Because it makes no fucking sense to have this on a national broadcast, one where there is ONE FUCKING CANADIAN team in the semi finals and that team should have wall to wall coverage by our public national broadcaster.

  23. hey brothers... aside from el'steve, most of you on here are loyal fanboys, always looking at the upside. i see/hear criticism all the time, but it's always tempered with: we on the right path, fix this and we will be better, the experience gained now will pay dividends in the future, you like how this team is trending...

ill take this opportunity to remind everybody this is loser talk. it was and still is exactly what squid said and he was correct then and you all know it was a thing before he said it publicly. ive always said, every yr is our year. theres no reason why not. anybody can do it. a mix of luck + some help from our ghost friends who may/may not be here and/or some of us who have a different round-by-round ritual and you never know. all i got to say is that you are all hypocrites if you feel, this isn't our year. you do play the lottery dont you?

2010 felt like it was yd. i keep forgetting 2014 happened. in hindsight, they were both lost opportunities. you dont admire these moments until its too late, years after the fact. im begging you guys to stop being a fan and start being a critic.

expect our boys to win and your expectations shall be exceeded. allow them the leeway to build towards a bigger goal and the boys will always be chasing. they can do it. i was wrong to waffle at 1-3. thank-you moe for that jersey meme. je me souviens. gyfhg. W-W-L-L-W-W.

Jack Todd nailed it. With the rise of the sports networks out of Toronto, coverage of Canadian hockey swirled down the toilet with their leaf-centric coverage and replacing any seemingly neutral views by the analysts or play calling personnel with a bunch of amateur leaf fanboy hacks. The mute button is your friend.

  49. Now they know what they're up against. Make some adjustments. Get in the passing lanes, this is killing them. If Dish can play Kulak might need to take a seat before Gus. Czar should absolutely stay in the lineup.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. no way. kadilak stays! he is the only one on D willing to do dish impressions. he puck handling, his timing jumping into the play, his offensive iq... all these are what the team needs more of. if it were up to me, the guy taking his turn on the bench would be munster this time.

no trying to rain on the old man parade. im a member also, but husqvarna needs to come out now. tuna needs in. he deserves a chance to stick it to his old mates. he has a thing to prove to hab nation as well as to the golden XXXs

and why the fudge would they bring in a former broon like mccleary? are they on drugs? almost as bad as them trying to sign mcclaren the yr after he sent zednik to the hospital. seriously... were they on drugs back then?

  52. the Maritimer9:36 AM

Just finished watching the recording of the game, I'll be brief.

Too many wide open looks at the Montreal net, fix that.

Lots of shit not called by the refs, mostly by the pissers, buttman mandated. Deal with it.

The Habs will be better next game.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. i agree. seeing a new opponent for the first time in 2 years is to neither team's advantage. having only 2-3 days rest is better than sitting for 7. a full house pushing you along is another contributing factor to why the boys couldnt keep it up longer than that :10 push to start the game.

when kidG missed that golden chance, i knew right there, these are the games where if you own the first few minutes of play yet come away with nothing, you are inviting a backbreaking goal coming against you.

      Delete
    2. whoops. forgot to say why M is correct:
now that the teams have been introduced, the boys know if the knights skate fast, they will have to skate faster. if the knights play aggressive on the forecheck, the boys will have to create quicker outlet passes. if the knights throw the most hits in the playoffs, the boys will have to re-claim that statistic back from them. these are not secrets. anybody who knows a lick about ice hockey can see these were the differences which created those glorious chances and limited ours.

      the boys will be better.

  53. meant to make mention of it sooner, but did you guys see savage garden sprouting up and giving high fives to whiskey's papa and mama?

melnyk has him on air right now and it was totally coincedental. he lives in michigan and when vegas won, he and his wife decided to go down and catch gm1. the habs hooked him up with tickets and voila, the greatest goal scorer (from october-november) meets the parents of the current sniper king.

his kids are in the hockey program at miami? huh? what?! ahhahhahhahhahah....

  54. I have digested that game like Jabba the hut. I want more CHeerleaders. Aside from that I have the feeling like a kick to the nuts but I was wearing a jockstrap. Its a formidable task to beat the pissers, but it can be done. If we do drown in the golden showers, next year we have time before the window closes and we realize we should never have bought vniyl/
