  1. C'mon man
And with the local SFU news,
CH Cool Price with a triumphant comeback
    But tonight...
Don't call it a comeback, he’s been here for years
He’s rockin' his peers, puttin' suckers in fear
Makin' mediot tears rain down like a monsoon
Listen to the Kids go boom
    Explosions, overpowerin'
    Over the competition, they’s towerin'
Wrecking shop, when the puck drops
These lyrics that'll make you call the FHFucking cops
    Don't you dare stare
You better move, don't ever compare
Me to the rest that'll all get sliced and diced
    Competition's payin' the Price

Habs gonna knock you out (Huuh)

moeman said knock you out (Huuh)

  2. Win or lose tonight, it's a beautiful Saint-Jean in Montreal and we hsve never been blessed with a playoff hockey game on this great holiday, where the Saint-Flanelle is everone's religion right now. Even the insular Hasids in Mile End are starting to notice! House money well spent, I say. GYFMHG and may la Belle Province's head not explode (at least, pas trop).

  4. Sevans in a regular, full-contact jersey at today's practice. The Canadiens have already won something today.

And recall, shitfly still under suspension until after Game 1 of the 2021-22 regular season. I hope that means he's also barred from attending training camp. Would serve him right, if so.

I hear you. I am also in disbelief they have made it this far. We have become used to the bitter taste of defeat and subsequently trashing the coaching staff, management, ownership and a player or two. That's what 28 years of losing g does to a person. Especially when one is used to winning frequently.

    Good Morning FHFriends!
I am off to the golf course shortly but wanted to stop by and say hello and thank the ones who toughed it out last night and watched until the end. It's tough on us old east coasters when it gets close to midnight. West coasters like oleg are just finishing dinner then. Fortunately, with modern technology like pvrs and the www, I can get up in the morning and pick up where I left off. Can't believe we will be watching the Habs play for the Cup in July. Incredible.

I'm happy for all the players but particularly Carey Price, Brendan Gallagher and Shea Weber, it's THEIR team and special mention to Corey Perry who I think is getting a chance second chance to win after leading Dallas to the Finals last September in the bubble. I wouldn't bet against him this time.

  71. Anyone else wondering what KolalCHuk is thinking right now? It was his acquisition that turned the losing mindset around. He was the one who tsught them to believe in themselves.

    1. whoa SiM... really? CHucky 2.0 was great when he came onboard, but no way. i cant agree with that. that losing mindset is still around. definitely still around. thats why when something goes bad against the boys, nobody is going bezerk. knuckles referenced this on 690 a few wks ago.

the only difference i think is that the losing mindset has been offset by a winning is believing attitude MUCH LIKE THIS BOARD!

this year and ALL YEARs, its only me, Stevo, and sometimes M who are shamelessly cheerleading. the rest of ya refuse to take off your corsi-hats. this year is no different than
... that yr with halak leading the way
... the following yr when we took the bruins to OTgm7 before they beat the cucks in the final
... the yr after when we lost in 5 to the sens after winning the freaking division
... kreidered was an acceptable loss
... gotten revenge vs the rags but somehow lost in 6
... losing to the filthy flyers was ok cuase the guys ran out of gas like the team halak had, but that again proved again any yr could be our yr as StL was a garbage crap team like our who didnt deserve to be in the dance

  72. With or without Kucherov I'm kind of hoping for the Bolts. Keep our underdog status intact. Isles are too similar and trying to write a story about the final days of their rink. Fuck off. It's the Habs' year to shine.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, plus we have a score to settle with Tampa.

      Delete
    2. StP: yes! i was thinking same thing. i had wanted the isles cuase i falsely perceived them to be an easier match-up, and it would be cool win a cup as the closing act in their special stadium. they dont make em like that anymore right guys?

then... i began to think about it more. nono... i want trampa. if the boys win the cup, we would never stop hearing about how we avoided the nordiques, and how the isles set the table for us by knocking off the defending champs.... so like StP said. FACQ OFF. bring it. gotta beat the best to be the best.

the boys have proven me plus most of us on here wrong many times just in THIS post-season run. theres nothing a good team cannot do. especially when fighting the odds against the jazz flash, we got lady luck on our side with miss soapy ass

SiM: what you referring to? that year when we smoked the cheese out of them in the regular season and they killed us in 4?

    Phew I can breathe again.
It's all in the mix, the old the new.
    So impressed with many things.
The PK, the Kids, the four solid D, and of course Mr. Price.
Mrs Chester and I are a little too on in years and miles to go downtown and hoopla, sadly.
Am so looking forward to The Dance. It's been too long.
I was spoiled. I grew up watching the 60's and 70's Habs.
Juggernauts of juggernauts. Took the parade for granted.
So many bad decisions by Cory and bad management as well as blowing so many draft picks over the years. You get the feeling that the great ship Canadien is back on the rails.
Even if we don't win the cup we booked our place in hockey lore and reenergized our fans.
So nice to listen to the TSN blabber about how great the Habs are, not much mention about the putrid leef and how absolutely one dimensional they are. How easy to beat in a seven game series.
Dunno about you but I would be wary of an Islanders team. Much rather play the bolts.
Just plug in Danno, Gally and Evens/Aurtturi get them charged and ready to go.
Happy days people. Per ardua ad astra.
    Go Habs

There was no epic collapse. They got shut down.
They didn't do it to themselves, we did it to them.
Our system did it to them. Just like it did it to the Jets and those golden statues.

I don't like Kelly. I seem to remember him trashing the Habs once, can't remember the incident but I boycotted him after that.

Chester is correct. The three teams the Habs played were beat, they didn't collapse. The leaf were easy to beat once Danault's line and the D shut down m'n'm. The Jets, they weren't that good anyway and shitfly fucked them when he went headhunting. The golden streams were actually tough and an even match for the Habs but Price was just better than Fleury/Lehner. If the leefies need a blueprint they just saw it. I don't know where they will find a $10 mil goalie though. ;-)

  79. Right, so let me try running this up the pole for a sex, and before we get really busy with the SCF. Reading that DD is not back until game 3. Thing is,
I think he needs to stay away until the series is over. Richardson has them in a zone and DD is more likely to fuck that up than improve on it. I know this run locks BB in for life as GM but I don't belive it should automatically lock in DD as head coach. To. My mind he's not the guy to start next season in charge. He's proven himself to be a puppet while LR has actually got a pair and isn't afraid to slap em on the table if he needs to make a point.

Now I know this is going to sound all negative but I don't think we should forget about what has happened in the past. Too easy to say DD won the cup so he should be coach. And there is precident Ask Al McNeil how winning the Cup worked out for him...

  82. Mrs Pad today suggest we buy a condo in Daughter 2s back yard in Ottawa, rent it out for 5 years, then retire there.
Being a 2 hour drive to Montreal is the bit that is tempting me the most about this. Oh and being close to D2 and the potential grandkids Mrs Pad is really hoping for of course. And close to Moe!

    1. Anyone with young kids in the Ottawa area should consider relocating to Gatineau for the great benefits Quebec has seen fit to bestow upon young families: solidarity benefit and subsidized daycare, plus the drug insurance; then recalibrate once school age. There is a great amount of stupidity to tolerate with either province however.

    3. Prices much cheaper in Gatineau. Been here for over 30 years. Soon to be Quebec’s 3rd biggest city and fastest developing. Willing to give Mme. St. Pad french lessons.

    4. I know, I think I mentioned D2 and he bf's trials at trying to get a place. Paid a LOT for a place that needs a LOT of work. Mrs Pad is a fed so had had basic french lessons. I should learn more than "et la but!"
In reality I highly doubt that plan comes to fruition.

If he was entitled, he would of taken French lessons in his almost 60 years of pathetic life.

(No, I wouldn't give him French lessons).

  86. In honour of my favourite band, favourite team, and the best blog:

    Long Time Running

    Does COTU tell you things
Long, long when Laffs are gone?
    Who you talking to?
Are they telling you they’re the one?
    It's a grave mistake
    And I'm wide awake
    Habs in's Laffs out
FriedMan ugly suit on your eyes
Perry pokes it out, Gally puts it in
    McLean don't know why
    It's the same mistake
It's been a long time running (since 1909)
    It's been a long time coming ( since 1993)
    It's well worth the wait

    We don't go anywhere
    Just on road trips
    We haven't seen a thing
We still don't know where it is
    It's a safe mistake
It's been a long time running (since 1909)
    It's been a long time coming ( since 1993)
Well, well, it's all the same mistake
Dead to rights and wide awake
I'll drop a caribou on Maroon
I'll tell on you, I'll tell on you
    Tell on you
Carey’s got a boatload of nerve
But I would say you've been told
You work me against my fhfriends and you'll get
You'll get left out in the cold
    It's the same mistake
It's been a long time running (since 1909)
It's been a long time coming (since 1993)
It's been a long, long, long time running
    It's well worth the wait
    It's well worth the wait
    It's well worth the wait
    It's well worth the wait
