Love the mug. Tough day for so many in St. Louis and rhe midwest. Tornadoes scate the shit out of me. I call that a rational fear. Glad I have a good 9-foot basement.
If the Buffalo still ruled the praries it would be the 17th century. That is the level of play I am expecting tonite. No goals against, no goals for. We are in a very tight race with many teams to pick in the top five, and its seems they all come alive better than ever/
Nothing like the storms in the Midwest, may those who lost their lives RIP, but some wicked thunder and lightning here tonight. 40cm of snow on Thursday, pretty much gone already.
I agree with SiM, I find tornados terrifying. So little notice, and when they happen at night, even more devestating.
3-0 Blues and they're feeling bad for the Habs who haven't scored in over 120 minutes of play so they get Hoffman the puck right in front, uncovered (to be sporting), and of course he'll have none of that, taking a weak shot to help Lindgren with his confidence. Such a gentleman!
Yep, lots of injuries to be sure. But, add to the fact, bergevin let Danault walk. He and Timmins could have had Brady Tkachuk or Quinn Hughes, they had Kotkienemi and now Montreal has nothing to show for a 3rd overall pick. How could anyone have a job after a colossal fuck up like that? Answer: they don't.
I put the game on for a few minutes in the 2nd, saw what was going on and bailed in a hurry. I'm just patiently waiting for Flash to start making his moves, it's we got.
Final thought of the night: Mr. Jeff Gorton, please, for the love of Rocket Richard, send Cole Caufield back to Laval for the rest of this season. Do not let douche bag ruin this young man. Call up Belzebub or any other plug to finish out the tank.
I think Buttman called half way through the game and insisted Montreal try to shoot at the net. No obvious tanking please. Can we sign Tsar to 8 already. I predict we have 4 first round picks maybe one in more going to 2023. Next year Lord Mountbatten and the Pink Panther (McNiven) will be our tandem. Could Chigago not have got the loser point at least. Right now there are at least 7 teams in full or semi tank mode. I think if we get no higher than 6 its a guaranteed pillar for the future foundation.
The francophone media may want to revisit their insistence on the Montreal Canadiens head coach being required to speak French. Why do I bring this up? I know it's beating a dead horse. There are 32 teams in the NHL. There are exactly two (2) head coaches who are fluently bilingual. Guess who they are coaching? Montreal and Arizona. There are three (3) former head coaches who are fluently bilingual, all fired form their jobs in this calender year, Julien, Vigneault and Therrien. Anybody want to bring those guys back? Not much to pick from is there?
Man I had high hopes for Douche Harm. But alas he is well out of his depths. I don't think he's replaced before a 'GM' is appointed. And then there will be a recycled coach, just not a former Habs coach. I can see Bob Hartley coming back from Russia. Maybe Guy Boucher, but I think Gorton (and the new 'GM' 🙄) will really focus on the best French speaking coach available that can work with a young team. Because ultimately, there is no option other than to reboot and build around the youngsters.
I fear if they leave douche in there much longer he is going to do irreparable harm to the youngsters plus, the vets will be so discouraged with all the losing they will all want to move on. Gorton could put a mannequin behind the bench and it would do better. They HAVE to turn the team over to Richardson soon, like last week. Like Jake Allen said last night, it's OK to lose but you have to at least try to win or make it hard for the other team to win. The Habs are not even ready out of the gate. That's on the coach. It's unacceptable.
I agree he SHOULD not coach another game at this level. Like you say of they can just appoint Luke as interim for the rest of the season, maybe it happens. I just don't see Molson hiring another HC and thus paying 3 head coaches, 2 GMs plus a new VP for the rest of this season. And I'm not sure he has the cahones to even put an interim Anglo in place. Hope I'm wrong on any or all accounts.
Got some water in the basement but it has receded this morning (half my basement is a crawl space with dirt floor). Not complaining because so many are so much worse off. And I was expecting it, can't have 49cm of snow followed by 49mm rain and not expect to get damp.
I can't figure out which one of my teams is more pitiful, the Canadiens or the Giants. NY has to clean house at the end of the season as well. Brutal play calling and Daniel Jones, I've seen enough of him. There are two good QBs in the draft this year, New York needs to take one.
Good thing I root for Liverpool in the Premier League, they actually make soccer watchable, especially striker Mo Salah.
Damn, TB/BUF was a hell of a game. Of course I needed the Bills to lose by three and Tom fucks it up by throwing a TD in OT. Same for Cincy. Needed them to win, they score a FG in OT but then give up the TD ffs.
Just tuning in to Grey Cup for the 2nd half. Don't have a horse in the race. Cannot name one player on either team, but it's our game as they say.

ReplyDeleteJust fucking win...i that still a thing? I know it doesnt really matter...but it would be nice...

ReplyDeleteOuf. Army playing like the French in WWII, Druid being Druid. And it's 1-0 Blues.
ReplyDeleteNo Sevans???
1 shot... 1 goal... Not a great start

1st period done....not a great game so far...
ReplyDeleteArmy with hands of stone. Tough to watch this team this year. Think I'll skip the 2nd and check back in the 3rd.
DeleteAlmost halfway through the game and Habs have 6 shots... FFS!
ReplyDeleteThat's the game...
ReplyDeleteMan this is a bad team right now...
ReplyDeleteThat's me gone for the night. Thanks Moeman. Stay safe people. Go Habs Go..

Some good news, the wretched leaf have blow a 4-1 lead in the 3rd period.

ReplyDeleteTime for Jeff Gorton to show who is the boss.
ReplyDeleteYes. I think he was planning on letting his GM make the move but this coach is just a disaster. An interim coach needs to be named yesterday.

ReplyDeleteBiggest hypocrites in pro hockey coverage. Disgusting.
DeleteWow... F1 just played a shocker to rob Lewis of his 8th Grand Prix championship. Making the rules up as they went.. Very NHL esque...
ReplyDeleteI use to love watching F1. Haven’t for years. They’ve made it boring.
DeleteMontreal and Monaco excepted.
