So Shane Wright may not be an elite prospect and according to Blob McKenzie, no one in this draft may be. That's OK, the Habs will get a good prospect and, if they finish 32nd, they will be picking 1st every round after. They will likely be picking more than once in the 1st round as well. Good times ahead.
I know he gets the Flash moniker, but man Gorton looks like he should be in a trenchcoat and fedora whacking guys that don't pay up in 1927. And that's a good thing! Some dipshit (Basu probably) asked him if he hired his best friend. "No offence, but Kent's not my best friend." I could feel what he really wanted to say to that reporter and it was very Draisaitlish.
Might stick around for a period tonight. we'll see.
Gorton also has an odd breathing pattern. Like he sucks up enough oxygen to just finish a sentence and then goes back for more air. He truly gives off a Tony Soprano vibe (yes this is a nickname idea, whatCHa gunna do about it!?)
18 shots in the first period. Monty's in another shooting gallery, but holding the fort. GYFHG even playing a low-IQ system that all the other teams know exactly how to turn into turnovers!
Went to bed after 1. Watched the hilites. Another 53 shots against. And it sounds like Full Monty has lots of work ahead of him with the Snake out 6 to 8 weeks. Chariot of Eggs kind of blew it on the winner burns loser point is good. it shows you still care while maintaining residence at the bottom.
Our team of Superheroes have their work cut out for them in the CH Universe.
SiM I was actually wondering yesterday after I read the Ms post about the DC Universe if Molson would be Kingpin in this scenario, but he seems more like a J Jonah Jamieson to me. Ol' JJJ...
I think if we mix good and evil, DC and Marvel, throw in a dash of Dick Tracy we might just have a winner.
All this before my coffee which I hear is now ready. Have a great day folks.
I recorded the game on RDS and watched it this am. Full Monty saw lots of rubber and the D is still a mess. Other than that a decent effort. Like Saint Paddy said, played with pride but maintained the Sherman.
I hope Clark Kent trades Chiarot of Fire before he gets hurt. Looks like Jake the Snake will be sticking around with a long term injury. I'm OK with that, I like having a local NB guy on the roster.
Man, I enjoy watching Pez Dispenser do his thing. He's got a great flow going too. For the ladies.
RIP Meatloaf, he and Jim Steinman were a great combo. I have Bat Out of Hell on vinyl. As Steve mentioned, Paradise by the Dashboard Lights is an anthem.
As bad as this season has been for Habs fans, Oilers fans have to be even more pissed. Their team has two of the best players on the planet but with no defence and no goalie they are screwed. Watch braindead leafools start dreaming about bringing McSaviour back 'home'. Too bad they can't do simple math.
So now it comes put Meat Loaf was an anti-vax dude and it was COVID-19 that took him out. RIP to him but lets hope this spurs a few more anti-vaxxers to think again.
Since I'm watching football at the moment, shout out to new Giants GM Joe Shoen. He helped build the Bills team, hopefully this is the beginning of a new winning era. As for the new HC, personally I want the guy Miami let go Brian Flores.
Wow, I didn't realize that former Saint John Sea Dog Jonathan Huberdeau is 2nd in scoring in the league behind only the Great 8. I watched Huberdeau a lot here in SJ and you knew he was going to be good. In his draft year I thought he should have went 1st overall but ended up 3rd behind RNH to Edm and Landeskog to The Avs. I still think Florida got the best player, it just took him a little longer to get there. Also, Ovie leading the Rocket Richard trophy, I hope he keeps it out of slimy matthews hands.
… and a side story. I did my high schooling in Hamilton, grades 9 through 12, a francophone school, Georges P. Vanier … and as no grade 13 was offered there, decided to go to GCI, a 5 minute walk from home. A great school. I even took two ‘French’ courses, grammar and literature. I aced those. Bonus, I helped a few gal pal’s with their homework.
I know there isn't a player that would willingly lose, but a game like that it sure looks like they have the green light to fight their asses off to get to OT...but we don't REALLY need that extra one. Toffees weak asses shot attempt and then Josh and Jake on the winner with no attempt to play defense.
But what a game for CP30! He was outstanding. I was thinking we could also call him Larry...because he's pre-moe. I digress.
And Nature Boy had a hell of a night too. Good to see the all Star playing like one.
Oh yeah, that's also the first time I've seen no penalty call turn into a high stick review, resulting in the offended player also getting called for a penalty with Dish's interference call. It's like they dream up new rules for the Habs.
That said I remember Vodkov being called for high sticking, then the refs seeing the replay and cancelling the call, something I've never seen before or since.
Nice loser point we would have to go on a super heater to screw up the tank formation. More or less we are guaranteed 3rd and thats our lucky number for drafting. Its looking more and more than the number one is yet to be determined. If I am picking 3rd I am taking the Russkie.
I hope we keep Tider and Powerhorse, Dish and Munster, TFS and the SNAKE, somehow tank for the prize next year and then contend for the cup the following year.
Only a casual interest in NFL but glad to see notorious doing my own research immunized QB go down. GO BILLS GO. I lived in the area for the Jim Kelly 4 peat and saw one game at the old Ralph Wilson.
Yes the Rivet trade tree is a thing of beauty. He may be a complete leaf living idiot but Dangle did a great job with the tree before this season. It's so extensive the video is about 20 minutes long. If memory serves, Habs also still have Allen, Northlander, Mysak and a couple picks this year. Crazy stuff.
New John Mellencamp sounds pretty good.
ReplyDeleteA couple of tracks out until it releases in full Friday.
He's scraggly, sounding like Dylan.
Heh, nice pic of the fat sfu clown on hnit. Very appropriate.

ReplyDelete... and unlike DGMB, I'd like to see DGKH package some picks and move up, where warranted.
DeleteYup.

By the end of this five-year stint, he'll probably be bald and look rather Kingpinish. Vincent D'onofrio's Kingpin. Bill Sienkiewicz's Kingpin.
DeleteI am a little fixated on Jordan Harris. I love him I love him but does he love me.
ReplyDeleteRadio Free Pitlick centering the top line with Druid and Powehorse.
ReplyDeletePez!
ReplyDelete👍🏻
DeleteHe's leading the team in points per 60 min!

ReplyDeleteToffee !
ReplyDeleteToffee! PP goal to tie it up at 2.
ReplyDeleteHoffee!!
ReplyDelete👍🏻
DeleteFirst lead of the game and you know the Habs are still taking up residence in the Silly Kuhhhhhhhh-niggets' heads.
ReplyDeleteGYFHG
Hoffee !
ReplyDeleteThey're all wingers but a Toffee-Hoffe-Cauffee line would be fun.
Delete… with Romanoffee and …
DeleteOn to OT. At 1:45 they iced the puck. I don't understand why DueHarm wouldn't use his timeout there, to give his players a rest. Anyway,..
ReplyDeleteMonty! 48th save?
ReplyDeleteAw, what a shame. But don't blame Monty. He's the readon tgey got a point. Get to work, Mr. Hughes. G'night.
ReplyDeleteRIP Meatloaf, by the dashboard light

Rest In Peace Meat Loaf, a powerful singer.
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace Louie Anderson, smart funny man.
Wow! RIP to both men, who excelled in each of their crafts.

very impressive how Clark went on TSN unafraid and unabashed. Ask me anything. WOW no GM in recent memory in any sport has been so confident.

ReplyDeleteRIP Glark Gillies, one of the Isles' all-time greats. Only 68.
ReplyDeleteRIP he was a beast on the ice
DeleteSo now it comes put Meat Loaf was an anti-vax dude and it was COVID-19 that took him out. RIP to him but lets hope this spurs a few more anti-vaxxers to think again.
ReplyDeleteHappy 65th bday to Mike Bossy, the best natural goal scorer Montreal has ever spawned.
ReplyDeleteDay 22 of dry January. It's been pretty easy forgoing booze but I've never been a big drinker anyway.
ReplyDeleteAny trades yet?

ReplyDeleteLots of whining about the leaf. As eMpTy would say, and Keefe said, they are soff. So soff...
ReplyDeleteBut haharudey likes them, great team! Bwahahahahahaha!!!
Well, they give the Habs about 2 minutes Amber and the Joker discuss Chiarot of Fire.
ReplyDeleteBieksa gives them props, it's no secret what happened with all the leaders that departed.

ReplyDeleteAs do we all, the M. As do we all.
DeleteI'm not sensing any comebacks tonight.
ReplyDeleteBut I could be wrong.
DeleteHad the game on delay, just caught up. Good to see Leko get one.an they've had some good chances that end up without a shot though.
ReplyDeleteThe AVS are fun to watch. I hope our Supers are taking notes since Clark says he wants a fast offensive minded team.
MacKinnon grew up about a km from here. Man can he dance on the ice, and what a quick shot.
DeleteThey need a player like MacKinnon to build around.
DeleteBtw, Go 49ers! Fuck Rodgers.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats to kidA's Bengals. I didn't see that coming.
Hey Moeman did you go to GCI? I taught there from 1999 - 2004.
ReplyDeleteYep. One year. Grade 13. 79-80

DeleteI don't see why Dish gets 2 minutes too.
ReplyDeleteNature! PP is on fire! 2-2
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected.
ReplyDeleteKill it!
ReplyDeleteKilled.
DeleteNearly scored killing it.
DeleteI give Montreal the edge in this period, they are taking it to Colorado.
ReplyDeleteOn to OT. Points in three straight games for the first time all season I think.
ReplyDeleteCP30 is the reason for this going to OT. Looking superb.
ReplyDeleteThat was a heck of a game from C3P0.
ReplyDeleteDoHarm still hasn't figured how to deploy the right players in OT. Costs them a lot.

Truly weird. Hopefully Gorton and Hughes will start calling bettman and his collie.
DeleteThanks for cleaning up my act St. Pad.
ReplyDeleteGood games lately.
Why isn’t Chzar playing in OT ?
ReplyDeleteEat it Packers !
ReplyDeleteWoooooo!
DeleteCongrats SF49ers.
ReplyDeleteHahahaaronrodgers.
ReplyDeleteGet vaxxed you fuck.

I didn't watch the Packers/49ers, too bad Mr. Rodgers, karma is a bitch.
ReplyDeleteI think the Rams will beat the Brady Bunch later today, setting up an LA/SF conference final. I also think the Bills knock off KC.
The Habs have found their No. 1 center in Nature Boy. Thanks Craig Rivet, the gift that keeps on giving. Look it up.

ReplyDeleteThat was wild.
ReplyDeleteChris Collinsworth would absolutely wear Tom Brady’s skin as a coat if he could.

DeleteHeh, so long Tom, time to retire.
DeleteWHAT A GAME IN KC!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a day...weekend of football!
ReplyDeleteYeah the KC/Buffalo game is insane!
Omg! Bam it's over!
Delete2 best QBs in football by a mile.
I can't believe Buffalo lost the game with 17 seconds left. How does that even happen?
