Yep, too late a start for this old guy. I'll probably watch the 1st period and maybe the rest of the game in the morning. I'll pvr it. I will also probably check out the Pats/Bills as well. I have never forgiven the Flames for winning the Cup on the hallowed Forum ice in '89. And I never will, fuck'em.
So, according to Tankathon the Habs have the #2 hardest schedule in the entire NHL for the rest of the season. The #1 is.... the Florida Panthers! We might get a shot at Bedard or Fantilli after all with those two picks. Hey Steve! Fire up that tank!
Slaf should be loaned to Slovakia for the World Juniors and then sent straight to Laval for the rest of the season.
KK, Galchenyuk, Latendresse...rushing young players has never turned out well. If it ain't a Crosby, McDavid or dare I say, a Matthews level talent, a year of development in the A is way better for the player and the team.
I agree about Slaf being sent to the AHL but, if the intent is to keep him with the big club put him where he has a chance to do something. Playing with Evans and Armia accomplishes nothing. I wouldn't be unhappy if he went back to Finland instead of a hatchet league the A.
The Allens are looking good tonight. And since the football Allen is predictably taking it to the Pats, I've been mostly watching the Habs. And...damn there it is tied.
Yeah, that was a performance and a half for Jake. I think he plays better on the road. He will be quite busy in December.
All the armchair quarterbacks and amateur blog writers are always saying Trade Allen, Trade Edmundson, Trade Anderson, Trade Monahan, c'mon people, I don't want the Habs to look like fucking Arizona. You need some good veterans around to teach the kids. Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton know what they are doing. They must have a good laugh if they read all that shit which I'm pretty sure they don't.
BTW, that was the best game so far for Slaf, I think he enjoyed playing with a couple of talented guys instead of two checkers. Keep that going please Marty!
You all know I could have picked Anyo. Trade Jake the Snake right now for Soupy and two first round picks, not lottery protected. Fuck this is another day I wake up wondering why I am not the Habs GM
You wanna get a safe room for the Habs? well we got one as of today. Picks 15 and 15 yes math is hard. SMURFS battle of the SMURFS, we did this for 20 years. OHMG HOJME GOD, lets learn from history not repeat it until I am dead
Well Steve, I was watching the game this morning and saw this line with 3 guys over 6 feet tall and over 200 lbs., and wondered whatever became of wee Davey and Oleg Petrov.
The current team is sized in the right direction. Its our potential draft picks being smurfs and elite prospects like Ferrell. Tonite I predict the first in game goalie trade. Soupy will don the tricolor and Jake the snake willl be covered in oil, at the beginning of the third.
JKHFFB!
ReplyDeletePats v Bills tonight but I'll be checking in on the game during breaks.
ReplyDeleteEven if one is a tanking fan, Flames are one of those teams you cannot hope to lose to imho.
So GYMFHG!

ReplyDeleteHa! I knew Habs management read this site. I posted this exact comment this morning.
Still, Hughes and MSL have their eye on the 2023 Draft as they keep starting Jake Allen.
JKHFFB!!
Slaf does not belong in the NHL this year, will we never learn.
DeleteHate to say it 😬 but I agree with steve.

That said, since he's with the big club I'm looking forward to see him play with these 2 guys.

ReplyDeleteLast Slaf!
ReplyDeleteAdvanced stats show that David Savard blocks a surprising 27% of shots using his beard. Really.
ReplyDeleteLet's give them a bazillion chances on this PP

ReplyDeleteOn those, it's the speed of light, or 299,792,458 metres per second also denoted as "c"
ReplyDeleteCC = c² or the speed of light, squared.
DeleteE = mc², ergo c² = E/m = new nick

ReplyDeleteGreat W for the Snake.
ReplyDeleteYeah, redemption game, definitely
DeleteFirst and a prospect performance
ReplyDeleteGreat game for Allen. Two beauty goals by the kids.
