While at the time of the filming it might have seemed strange, I would volunteer to have Raguel inserted into me today. As I understand it the future King of England enjoys pegging as well.
I watched Marinaro's podcast today, talking about the Hughes presser and the Slaf debate. The conclusion I have come to about the whole thing is they didn't want offence (Cooley) or a 200' player (Wright). They wanted a power forward who can win puck battles. Maybe that's what they got. What I think they will get is... another Armia.
True, but I don't see a very high ceiling for him. We can all agree he's not a generational talent and I doubt he is a 40 goal scorer. He is too big to be a fast skater and he doesn't have a great shot like CC. Montreal had the misfortune to have the first overall pick in a mediocre draft.
Honestly, if they wanted to keep a close eye on him he should have been sent to the OHL like Mesar. Could have learned to play on the smaller ice there and put up some numbers. I wouldn't have put an 18 year old in the AHL.
Where he played pro in Finland last year and was signed for this year too, I think his options were AHL or Finland.
He won't likely be a superstar but he has a higher ceiling than Armia. Maybe with some training and time he could be something like Landeskog in Colorado. Not a real high points guy, but dominant in all areas of the game otherwise.
And perhaps this season ending injury is the best thing that could have happened.
I agree with the let the kid grow in his own treehouse. Whats the rush for him to play in the NHL , he plays a season or two in the farm, no harm. Look at Nature, he looked like shit and they sent him back to JR, now he is a credible first line center. Soon to be displaced by Picard. Picard is comming , nothing, not your Klingons or probes to the planet Uranus can stop it.
I think beating FLA in regulation is the best outcome. They're getting a little full of themselves. But I guess the puke blue unis will take care of that dream.
The retro puke ensures I won't be up too late tonight. I saw the presser and thought that what was said about Slaf made sense. He's just a big gangly kid and with time and some smart people around him I think he's gonna do well.
Lol yeah I'm recording just in case. What a fucking farce this league can be. I don't imagine Maurice will be complaining about the officiating tonight.
I didn't put the game on last night but have been reading lots this morning and saw a few clips on Twitter, looks to me like the Flo players were trying to injure, going for knees, hits from behind, etc. WTF, where did they get these refs from, a midget B league? Maybe it's just buttman trying to get one of his pet teams into the playoffs? Anyway, Geoff Molson must be OK with the losses with his greed induced puke blue jerseys. Hope he enjoys all that extra money from the fools who buy that shite.
So, I saw most of MSL's presser. He bit his tongue but acknowledged that his team fucked up in various ways. For me, this game is the perfect example of how the refs and the 'war' room can and will tilt a game. Fuck em'.
Very much so. The score only gies from 0-0 to 2-0 from that one decision. And it seems like the Panthers were knee hunting - for retribution on the Matheson hit, and maybe for Bobrovsky too - although Bob injured himself just from his own hard push into his left goal-post.
Yep. Make the correct call on the goalie interference and this is a totally different game.
ArCHi fined $5K for his shoulder to Staal's chin. Another non-call by these horrible refs, which led to more stupidity. It's a farce that they don't have to answer for their poor play.
I won't point directly at anybody on particular because I have no evidence but what are the odds that there isn't the odd official into gambling and the league has now made it part of the game. Surprised they didn't have live odds on those three bouts last night.
ZZTop
ReplyDeleteAnother fucking retro-puke-blue jersey night.
ReplyDeleteThat clinched it for me, was debating whether to watch, it's a no go with the puke sweaters.
ReplyDeleteI recognize that Raquel movie ... Fantastic Voyage.

ReplyDeleteTime will tell as the kid is only 18 years old.

Army is a playoff warrior. You get a bunch of smurfs to get you to the playoffs and then you destroy them with your SLAF army

ReplyDeleteA thread late and missing at the plate. The stews. Best Stews movies, Jackie Brown, Millennium and the best with a young Halle Berry Executive Action.

ReplyDeleteHey I switched on adblocker and then OnHockey.tv and it worked. I did not have to play Enders Game with pop ups for 15 min.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. David Crosby. Thanks for the love. Bless you, you beautiful, Goddamn hippy.
ReplyDeleteDitto, CSNY and CSN are right at the top of my comfort playlist.
DeleteWell it looks like we inspired Bobrovsky to self-injure, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteThe reverse retro BAM by ArCHi on Staal was something!
ReplyDeleteTrying out ArCHi for Matheson. Short for Archimedes.
Got his elbow up to his head for primary contact. I reckon a DOPS hearing and suspension might come down on Maths for that one.
DeleteThat should be called back.
ReplyDeleteOMG, and it's so stupid they get penalized for this.stupiid fuckin Buttman horseshit league.
DeleteThe Toronto 'war room' is a fucking joke.
ReplyDeleteWell. Enough of the retro puke for me tonight.
ReplyDeleteI'm staying for whatever revenge Wifi is about to deploy.

DeleteRem! Cue the reason I am still up watching.
ReplyDeletePowerhorse looking Whiskeyish!
ReplyDeleteYou happy now, Mr. SMITH?!?
ReplyDeleteTotal. Shit. Show.
ReplyDeleteFuck the refs, hard.
Glad I avoided it.
DeleteLet us know what Marty says at the post game presser.

One thing for sure, Xman is going to be extracting some retribution the next time the Habs play these jerks.
ReplyDeleteWanna call him the Hammer, since he's from there and has that affect o oppknents.
