I guess I can watch the Golden Pissers' game live on Sunday. I'll probably record the late games and give them a look the morning after. So, it will be all leaf all the time this Saturday, oh whatever will the clown panel have to talk about I wonder?

  4. I had to tune into Overdrive to see how the Leafs #1 fans are handling all of the leaf trade news and they do not disappoint. Jeff O'Neill and that Frankie guy talking about getting alumni rings when they win the Cup. I love to see them set up for such magnificent failure! We might not have a post season again this year but it will sure be fun watching this birn.

The fact is when they are not talking about food or golf they are way more entertiaing than anthing TSN690 has to offer.
That said, Dumbass has changed his team 30 percent. The only thing, an in hockey its sometimes called Goalie, he has two crackheads. NTTAWIT and I do not mean they do drugs
they are just as goalies very susiplte to cracks.
Its going to be an epic battle in the east, and lets hope the leaf go out in 4 with crackhead goaltending.

  5. Zero in-game comments may be a first.

SJ and Ducks are in full tank mode so probably be the first winning trip to California in decades ( it seems at least)

  6. Lots of big trades already. Now Quick gone from LA to Columbus. I guess I just don't follow the league like I used to. This Gavrikov that goes to LA, never heard of him before this deadline. He must be a good shutdown Dman like Munster et al were during our playoff run? But both he and Quick are pending UFAs and LA gives up a 1st and 3rd.

At this rate TSN's "Trade Frenzy" will just be about what the hell HuGo can scrape out of the bottom of the barrel for Drouin.

After a busy morning doing some errands and getting the driveway shoveled out, I sat down and watched the game. It was actually not bad to watch despite it being between two tanking teams playing a bunch of 3rd line players and AHLers. Mike Grier to Kent Hughes: Sorry Bud, you ain't out-tanking me! I like the looks of this Gurianov kid wearing #25, I honestly can't remember who has worn that number lately, EAP maybe? Anyway, Gury made some good plays, had more than a few looks to score, I swear, MSL is a 'hockey player whisperer'. That being said, I've noticed that the Habs are playing more structured hockey lately, maybe it's the D playing better under Robidas but they seem less chaotic on the ice lately. Good stuff, the Habs seem to be out of the running for Bedard but still a ways to go yet.

Crazy, all the trades being made, I still think HuGo have a cards to play, but please, knock all this foolish talk about trading Anderson and Matheson, they are key cogs in the rebuild. Oh, Guhle looked terrific in his return, I think the medical staff have learned their lesson .... when we say eight weeks we mean eight weeks.

    1. Saw the same. Post the All-star game, Nature seems better since losing Whiskey. Unless it is a Huge (Hugo) haul, I wouldn't move Powerhorse or Math. Edmunston is likely gone, no worries there. Savard is playing some really good hockey and I agree Iron Kaiden looked great. BBQ2 ! (when the kid fills out, I hope he starts hitting hard and rubbing opponents out).

Man, these Tankers are going all out to get to the bottom of the league, Chicago, Columbus, Anaheim and Arizona are like those screaming WWII dive bombers.... do they even have NHL players anymore? It will be fucking hilarious when someone like the Habs or VAN or the phucktards swoop in there and steal Bedard out from under their noses. LOL!!

I don't think Eddy is going anywhere. HuGo will hang on to him for another season if they have to. They will get a 1st rounder out of someone next year. Jake Allen said he didn't think anybody had to worry about being traded on the Habs. They are having fun playing for MSL and want to play the role of spoilers.

However, if I were to pick anybody to be traded, I would guess it will be Shiny Happy Pitlick. And that's just a hunch. I will be utterly shocked if anyone takes a flyer on Droumez.

Arizona, buttman's love child franchise, truly is a farce. Who wants to bet that Carey Price's contract ends up there next year? They will be utter dog shit from now until they finally relocate, after buttman finally retires. No other league would allow such nonsense.

Great to see Lego as the M says one of my faves. He was not a better goalie than Halack, get over it.
What is evern greater is the winds of CHange in leaf land. They have spent all the money and they still cant get a drink at the bar.
We really need to tank harder. We got the Slaf and it look like we should have taken the Goop. We can recover. However finishing 8th is a disaster unless Buttman fixes the lottery for us and give us the player with the most FrenCH sounding name.
Many musing about Chicklets who went to Ottawa. Consenuse is he is better than CHevy and we should have gone there because he was traded for a bag of pucks. I see a future blue line with 5 players making around 4 Mill and Lane Hudson, I want to call him DELORAN. Hudson was like Deloran a great car that crashed without being driven much. If team Hugo can make the players buy into the Boston Tampa concept, plan the parade.

Another 11:30pm AST start means another recorded game to be watched in the morning after reading the paper and a coffee or three. After that maybe I'll turn on the leafool sploogefest to see if HuGo has pulled the trigger on a trade. Looking at the LA lineup I don't expect any Habs victory tonight, the Kings are no Tankapolooza team like San Jose. Speaking of which, can Az or CHI even field a legit NHL team? Good thing Gary says NHL teams don't tank...

    1. Hey, I tried it and got #1 and #11 on my first spin!

I just don't want Bedard to end up in Arizona or Chicago. But even though according to Gary, teams don't tank, the Hawks are doing it masterfully and are almost in the same position they were in in 06/07 when they selected Toews/Kane with high picks. They already had D Keith, C Crawford and others and before you know it they won 3 cups. They drafted a skilled D last year and will have high picks this year and next because they don't have an NHL roster. Just hope it's not Bedard this year.

Just got back from a Costco run, kept it under $200, a minor miracle!

Well I am scared shitless. Dumpster could have sold all this garbage off. Hugo got nothing, nothing. Can I say nothing. They could not get a bag of pucks for Druid. Not a cup of coffee for the Hoff. Seriously DGMB loaded up this team with garbage, and the Hugo got us DADDYBOY for free. Lets tank real hard for now and next year and then see what we have. The only real concern I have is in net. We do not have a stanley cup winning goalie, however in this era, they mostly dont exist.

      Delete
    3. the Maritimer8:13 PM

One thing people forget, you have to have someone who can take those contracts, besides the Buttman Coyotes who is that?

Stanley Cup winning goalies, other than Vaseline in Tampa, who is pretty good but looks like the Michelin Man, I give you Jordan Binnington and Darcy Kuemper the last few years. How are they doing lately?

      Delete
  35. I tuned into tsn at the end of the deadline. It's cute how when asked which team has given themselves the best chance that Hayes and O continue to proudly fly the leaf flag. I will say this about those two, at least they don't pretend not to be fans unlike most of the others who claim to be 'professional journalists' so don't cheer for any team.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Says a lot that no team was even willing to give a late round pick for Drouin on an expiring contract. Like the M has said, I expect if he wants to continue playing hockey, he will be lucky if one of the Euro leagues take him.

    ReplyDelete
  37. CHester10:14 PM

I’m sorry Hugo couldn’t unload Druid or army or the hoff
What a sad statement for these guys
We must have 10 mil tied up in these three and we couldn’t get a bag of pucks for them
It just goes to show how bad dgmb contracts can continue to drag us down years later
However I have confidence in Hugo
He knows when jump and when to fold and wait
It wouldn’t bother me to keep monahab and Eddie let them heal for the summer and come back strong
You can’t have a young team without some of the right kind of veterans
    It’s a mix
And there is still the off season
I’m sure TVA would be interested in druid
It’s a level above maxim laturtle
    Let’s get healthy
    Go Habs

    1. the Maritimer1:04 PM

Droumez, Army and the Hoff = about $13.4mil per year I believe. Unfortunately, no one wanted anything to do with those contracts, even an expiring one. Besides, unless someone was coming back in the trade HuGo needs to still put players on the ice and despite wanting another high draft pick, I don't want to ever see Montreal finish dead last in a 32 team league ever again, in my remaining lifetime. I do not want them to ever finish below dog shit teams like Arizona or Anaheim or any of Gary's sunbelt experiments. Last year, a combination of bargain bin bergy's errors, DoHarm's stubbornness and injuries buried our team. Thankfully, HuGo and MSL came along to save them and they WILL be a contending team again.

For next season, I would like to see the return of a healthy Monahan on a one year 'prove it' deal, and see what Sean Farrell can bring. The young D lead by Matheson, Savard and maybe Eddy should be fine. I don't expect much out of Slaf, he won't be a star in his career, low hockey IQ. The goaltending is adequate for another year or so IF the PK and PP can improve.

Many of the graduating juniors should be AHL bound and some of them (Roy and the player in London) could be additions in a trade perhaps? If Winnipeg goes out quick or even fails to make the playoffs, I can see Hughes and Cheveldayoff swinging one for you know who. As for 'the player in London' I was referring to, yes he deserves a second chance I just prefer it be somewhere else.
