    Wow
Looking at the talent in that picture of the younglings gives hope for the future.
We also have Beck, Roy, Kidney, Struble, Hutson, Heinman etc as well as what will transpire at the draft next month. The cupboard is full of prospects.
I can live with another tankathon next year as we set up the franchise for the future.
Perhaps a PLD might add an interesting angle to us.
    Just thinkin.
    Go Habs

I see a trade for CPT PICARD. We dump some trash and a second, he signs for 8 at 8. At that point the rebuild is over and cup contention is starting. Some people dont love Yodel, have they ever had a sore throat and Ricola. Yodel is Rocola for us.
Just tank, send Snake and Monty to Acpoluco to fight the gangs, rest Nature back in BC. Tell Math to work on his PHD at McGill.

  6. The Flower looking very cool. Love it. Gonna be nice to see Gally again. I say he scores a Hattie!

    My previous post disappeared?

I saw the replay of Powerhorse getting injured, what a farce by the donkey refs. Should have been a penalty on 98 and an automatic goal for Josh.

fire the coach if they win another game, you can always get another coach but a 5 th overall franchise player is once in a lifetime. Fortuanaly once again the PHuctards bailed us out.

  12. I've been AWOL. Headed to Fredericton for St Paddy's Day to visit my brothers and had a couple of good days. Not too wild - we're too old now. Got back Sunday night didn't feel well and Monday morning, after three years of evading it I tested + for Covid. I felt bad because Tuesday morning my Sis-in-Law and niece were heading to Cuba but I had to tell them. THey freaked out but were OK. Was down and out until last night. Felt like I was hit by a truck. This morning, just the remnants of a sore throat. Mrs Pad is still suffering through it. She has COPD so hoping it stays out of her lungs.

Anyway, I survived round 1 unlike a certain hockey team.

    Go Habs Go!

I was very sick back in January with my bout, I dodged it for nearly 3 years as well. It felt like nothing I ever had before. The only other memory I have have of being very, very sick was when I got the mumps at around 11 years old. That was brutal. I slept for 3 days straight.

  13. Looking at the sked I see the Habs finishing the season with a 5-6 record and 72 points. Flyers 5-7 and 74 points. Arizona 4-6 for 74 points. The bottom 4 are clear. I think Habs finish 5th last.

    1 Connor McDavid 0.83

    3 Mikko Rantanen 0.67
    4 Leon Draisaitl 0.63

Always loved this bit of history. How come the SFU never mentions it?

    THIS DATE IN #HABS HISTORY
March 23, 1944: Maurice Richard scored all five goals in a 5-1 win over Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 2 of Stanley Cup semifinal playoff series. Toe Blake had five assists. Richard was awarded all three stars after game.

  19. Munster tank commanding a little too obviously on that 2nd Boston goal.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Gotta say one thing here...the Habs looking fuckin sof on the pick tonight. Slightest bit of pressure and they turn it over...very poor.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Munster made a bad play on the 2-0 goal. Meh.

Good to see some hate creeping into the game. And Boston tackles Evans and get a PP from it. Cool cool cool...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Nature! That one's for Hoff's nose.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Gonna say something else controversial here...the NHL needs to stop with the Pride events unless they can get 100% participation. They continue to allow own goals by having various players opt out for whatever the reason they give. Does more harm than good and it's too important to keep fucking up.

Harvard getting crushed by Ohio State, looks like Sean Farrell will be on his way to Montreal or Laval shortly. Meanwhile, the folks at ESPN put up a little chart showing the NHL draft picks in this game and they had OSU goalie Jakub Dobes as a wretched leaf prospect and Kyle Dumbass was there scouting him. Hilarious! When did Kent Hughes make this trade and who did he get in return?

Goalies are nothing now. You pick a big guy who has trig authrority and hope for the best.
Interesting all the best goalies are Russians. A grade 8 math course in Russia would not be passed by anyone in North America without a Doctorate.
Sean Farrel. I do not want to go down the MASH rabbit hole with his nick, but what about Hawkeye.
Ranger danger, smurfs on the rise. We have a lot of top prospects who are smurfs. As a top NHL anylist I have run the numbers. No more than two players making more than 9 mil and no more than 3 smurfs to win the cup
I gotta say, and this may not be a unique opion, DACH VADER is real.

  37. Stu Cowan found out Serge Savard had a few stories:

"When Bergevin was GM, Savard had asked if his son and grandchildren could take a tour of the empty Canadiens’ locker room at the Bell Centre 45 minutes after a game had finished and the players had left. Bergevin told him no.
“How would you feel if you were the guy who helped hired him?” Savard said. “It didn’t make any sense. I felt very small. It didn’t feel like home.”
“I think the whole management now, they realize the damage that has been done and all the old-timers have been pretty vocal about it,” Savard said. “Even Guy Lafleur, who was working for the Montreal Canadiens, was not afraid to say it publicly."

Fuck you Bargain Bergy, for making a giant like Serge feel small.

  59. You know if RHP played every game and maintained his current ppg average, he would be 2nd in rookie scoring.

If Guhle stayed healthy and maintained his average, he would be top rookie scoring damn.

RHP has been a great surprise and I think has a future on the team.

I am very curious to know what the opening night lineup is going to look like in October. I think the team will be young but ready to compete for a playoff spot if they can stay out of the damned hospital.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer11:06 AM

It's a small sample size. relatively speaking, regarding RHP. But, he reminds me of his coach, an under-sized forward with a great compete level and a nose for the net with a great set of hands. I don't know how things will shake out this October, but RHP can certainly have #27's spot, without question. I even thought Gallagher looked the best he's been in some time. There is certainly still a spot for him on the team. I wouldn't be anointing any of the soon to be available older juniors like Roy, Kidney, Farrell, etc. a place in the NHL line-up. They can all do some time in the minors.

Do you want to be a Montreal Canadian or just a player for a franchise that may not exist in 50 years. We know there will always be some form of the NHL. Maybe back to six teams but dammit, we will still play hockey, okay maybe in 50 years its a co ed team, no hitting no slapshots, but it will still be a dammed hockey team.

SO TANK NOW DONT GIVE ME SPECULATION ABOUT GROWTH OF UTES. UTES are totally unreliale and mostly young.
