Welcome back Leko! Thank you for that great memory! You and Lord Byron scored two of the best goals ever in the last 30 years!

It's hard not to like Leko.
Gave everything every night and was underappreciated by BarginBin and Clawed.
He deserves everything good and happy.
      Go Habs

  4. Ouf. So completely outclassed.

  5. The Avs have three times as many goals as we have SoG

  6. Guess Devo was the straw that broke the Habs' backs. They just can't compete since hr joined Team Clinic.

  7. So not a great start...

  8. What a load of shit that PP is... Oh my God.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Powerhorse saves us from utter humiliation!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Somebody has mentioned it before but after this season the Habs can take that PP plan with the drop pass back to their own faceoff dots out behind the Bell Centre and bring the torch along too. Burn that fucker to dust and never speak of it again.

  11. the Maritimer8:34 PM

Late to the party. I guess we should have seen this coming, only so much you can do with an AHL team against the NHL elites. I'm happy to see the Powerhorse get #20, he's a beast. Gotta keep this guy around, screw Brian Wilde and all the other braindead internet trolls who want to trade him 'because he's to old'.

  12. Avs passing is very good... Habs... Not so much

    ReplyDelete
  13. the Maritimer8:43 PM

Yeah, get Jake out of there. He doesn't deserve this.

    ReplyDelete
  14. the Maritimer8:45 PM

Hopefully the Avs let up a bit now, no need to embarrass the team that traded them Leko.

Five minutes left in the 2nd and the Habs have 6 shots on goal. Is DoHarm coaching tonight?

Regarding that stupid drop pass on the PP many, if not all, the teams use it. I have no idea what purpose it serves.

  20. I just tuned back in to see the score at 7-2 and Bang! Bang! It's 7-4 suddenly. Just keep it interesting the rest of the year that's all we can ask.

I came in at the end of the first, they were showing the replay of Powerhorse's 20th of the season. I thought, OK this game is over already but I will leave it on in the background, muted so I didn't have to listen to gary fucking gawley, the worst analyst in the history of broadcasting. Anyway, got to see 3 more Habs goals including a nice wrister by M'n'M.

Speaking of Josh Anderson, I just read Cowan's piece on him and totally agree with keeping this guy around. It never made sense to me that some people wanted Hughes to trade him to a contender and get a bottom first round pick. Anderson is worth way, way more than that. Nope, this player wants to be in Montreal and to eventually win here. He is only 28 with 4 more years on his contract which takes him to 32. Lots of miles left in him, I'm keeping him. Bonus, he is a fucking leaf killer. The Habs are not that far away if they can stay healthy. If they could win the Bedard sweepstakes they will be a force in 2 years max. The only question is in goal. But, if they get better defensively that may not matter.

It's trivia night so I will be late to the show tonight. I expect another trouncing, 2nd of a back-to-back, 3rd game in 4 nights, etc., but hey, you never know. In any event I hope Sid doesn't trash his childhood favourite team.

If the Habs win the lottery and land Bedard and HuGo can pry Jean Luc out of Winnipeg, they are an instant contender. We just have to suffer these last 15 games.

    1. Habs could go 1-14 in those last 15 games and I'd take it. You can guess who I want them to beat. (FWIW, I don't give a shit about the 2 broons games)

    2. It's a weird place to be. I can never actively cheer for the boys to lose. But I'm fine when they do. And I'm happy for them when they win. Especially against unsaid team mentioned by moe.

    3. the Maritimer4:10 PM

I never cheer against them but I don't get upset like I used to if they get scored on. I, too, will be cheering them on to beat that wretched despicable team.

Powerhorse is a Unicorn and we got him for Mad Max. One of those Bergy moves that just left you like Powerhorse wanting more. On a contending team he is as dangerous as any top ten player.
But back to reality, we are number 5 pick, do not fuck this up Hugo.

  30. Habs with 4 goals on 7 shots... Fuck. Me that's pretty good shootin

    ReplyDelete
  31. Belzile arguing he didn't trip anybody. I note that nobody fell.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's not the quantity of shots...

Boy with that start I thought they were looking at giving up another 8 spot. I mean they still could but I love the bounce back. It's great for morale even going into next season knowing they're never out even with half an AHL roster.

    ReplyDelete
  33. the Maritimer8:47 PM

Well, it was 4-2 Habs when I came in now it's 4-4. Still lots of fight left in this bunch of minor leaguers.

  38. Well 2 pts they didn't need but it's the first win in 8 so it's fine. Gives the guys life and confidence. Monty gave up 4 but still made some incredible saves, could still be a big part of the future.

The boys avoid an 8 game losing streak aka 'the Ducharme'.

As much as we fans want that high draft pick these players don't give a flyin' f*ck about that.
Nice win, especially after that shitshow last night. All credit to the AHL guys for a great effort.

  41. BTW I don't know much about our current cover girl but a quick search tells me I should watch Blonde: The Marilyn Monroe Story.

I like what les boyz are doing keeping games close and once they get blown out they come right back with an in your fucking face Sidney
But we must keep the tank going

LOL! That franchise is the laughing stock of the league. A running joke. An abject failure since 1967 in playoff competition. The SFU tranna media don't want to acknowledge it.

      Delete
  45. the Maritimer10:15 AM

Well, that's funny. The team that the SFU said were going to break records belonging to the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens are suddenly on a losing streak and lost to --- the Black Hawks????? Ha ha ha, dream on fuckers those records will never be broke.

    ReplyDelete
  46. CHester3:38 PM

Top ten highest regular season team points has the Habs listed three times with the 76-77 team at 132 points. Like anything out of the SFU is gonna come close. I love the post season team pick with The Cup surrounded by EVERY piece of hardware the NHL had.
So ya good fucking luck. If the 80's Oilers couldn't do it and Super Mario couldn't do it, Captain Underpants, Little Mitchie and Jonny Toronto sure as fuck aren't gonna.
I was in high school in the late sixties early seventies and winning The Cup was just normal. It was the natural state of the universe.
    Go Habs

Math is hard, but winning one game and going from 5th pick to 7th pick is stupid math. Have the guts to tank, this bs hockey players cant tank, okay take away the hockey players, put the zabmone driver in net

    ReplyDelete
  48. Devo gone for the rest of the season now too. That's 4 centres all out at once!! This is abysmal and bad luck can't completely explain it away. I read somewhere a week ago that HuGo has called for a top-down review of all medical/physio/trsining support staff and systems and practices to see if they can reduce the plague of injuries. Seems like 4 out of the last five seasons we've been way over-represented in man-games lost.

  49. C out = MonaHab, DaCHtah, Sevans and Devo
LW/RW out = LB, Lep, Whiskey, GI Finn, who else? Feels like I'm forgetting someone.

There's tanking then there's stanking and this one stanks!

Sadly a buddy of mine thought this would be a good game to attend before he and the missus head on a Caribbean cruise. To be fair he made those plans when only 1/4 of the team was injured.

  67. the Maritimer12:25 PM

Just a thought regarding game threads, after this weekend's b2b against the Tampon Dolts, how about a new thread to start the week and let it run for the whole week? There's not much commenting on game nights anymore because... well, shellackings aren't much fun. Hopefully, some day, when this team becomes relevant after the rebuild, we will have stuff to cheer about when the future powerhouse Habs are beating the snot out of the rebuilding leaf, Dolts, broonz, etc. Can't wait.

It was a decent game but you could sense the inevitability of Tampa scoring goals and winning it. I've said this before, they only have about three or four actual NHLers on the squad at the moment, the rest are AHLers or 'tweeners'. They give a valiant effort but it is what it is. I'm probably going to take a pass on the next two games, maybe watch them play Columbus or fellow bottom feeders. I think I'll spend more time watching the prospect's games. Lane Hutson sounds like a player worth watching or some of the junior teams.
