It's hard not to like Leko. Gave everything every night and was underappreciated by BarginBin and Clawed. He deserves everything good and happy. Go Habs
Somebody has mentioned it before but after this season the Habs can take that PP plan with the drop pass back to their own faceoff dots out behind the Bell Centre and bring the torch along too. Burn that fucker to dust and never speak of it again.
Late to the party. I guess we should have seen this coming, only so much you can do with an AHL team against the NHL elites. I'm happy to see the Powerhorse get #20, he's a beast. Gotta keep this guy around, screw Brian Wilde and all the other braindead internet trolls who want to trade him 'because he's to old'.
I came in at the end of the first, they were showing the replay of Powerhorse's 20th of the season. I thought, OK this game is over already but I will leave it on in the background, muted so I didn't have to listen to gary fucking gawley, the worst analyst in the history of broadcasting. Anyway, got to see 3 more Habs goals including a nice wrister by M'n'M.
Speaking of Josh Anderson, I just read Cowan's piece on him and totally agree with keeping this guy around. It never made sense to me that some people wanted Hughes to trade him to a contender and get a bottom first round pick. Anderson is worth way, way more than that. Nope, this player wants to be in Montreal and to eventually win here. He is only 28 with 4 more years on his contract which takes him to 32. Lots of miles left in him, I'm keeping him. Bonus, he is a fucking leaf killer. The Habs are not that far away if they can stay healthy. If they could win the Bedard sweepstakes they will be a force in 2 years max. The only question is in goal. But, if they get better defensively that may not matter.
It's trivia night so I will be late to the show tonight. I expect another trouncing, 2nd of a back-to-back, 3rd game in 4 nights, etc., but hey, you never know. In any event I hope Sid doesn't trash his childhood favourite team.
If the Habs win the lottery and land Bedard and HuGo can pry Jean Luc out of Winnipeg, they are an instant contender. We just have to suffer these last 15 games.
It's a weird place to be. I can never actively cheer for the boys to lose. But I'm fine when they do. And I'm happy for them when they win. Especially against unsaid team mentioned by moe.
I never cheer against them but I don't get upset like I used to if they get scored on. I, too, will be cheering them on to beat that wretched despicable team.
Powerhorse is a Unicorn and we got him for Mad Max. One of those Bergy moves that just left you like Powerhorse wanting more. On a contending team he is as dangerous as any top ten player. But back to reality, we are number 5 pick, do not fuck this up Hugo.
Boy with that start I thought they were looking at giving up another 8 spot. I mean they still could but I love the bounce back. It's great for morale even going into next season knowing they're never out even with half an AHL roster.
Well, it was 4-2 Habs when I came in now it's 4-4. Still lots of fight left in this bunch of minor leaguers. Take a point if you have to but that's it.
Well 2 pts they didn't need but it's the first win in 8 so it's fine. Gives the guys life and confidence. Monty gave up 4 but still made some incredible saves, could still be a big part of the future.
The boys avoid an 8 game losing streak aka 'the Ducharme'.
As much as we fans want that high draft pick these players don't give a flyin' f*ck about that. Nice win, especially after that shitshow last night. All credit to the AHL guys for a great effort.
BTW I don't know much about our current cover girl but a quick search tells me I should watch Blonde: The Marilyn Monroe Story.
Anybody seen it? It seems it is rather tragic (as was her life) but worth separating that aspect (if not into watching sadness) from Ms de Armas' performance.
They thought she might be the next Bond girl after her cameo in the last one till she was up for a best actress Oscar for Blond Then that went out the window Anyway I like what les boyz are doing keeping games close and once they get blown out they come right back with an in your fucking face Sidney But we must keep the tank going It’s our future It’s important Go Habs
I'm happy for the lads winning a game, but would sure have been a good night to lose with the Yotes winning and the lowly Hawks beating the mighty Broons.
Someone pointed out that the Toronto-based franchise has never in its history accomplished the feat of winning three playoff rounds in a season - something else to consider from the Habs' 2021 run.
LOL! That franchise is the laughing stock of the league. A running joke. An abject failure since 1967 in playoff competition. The SFU tranna media don't want to acknowledge it.
Well, that's funny. The team that the SFU said were going to break records belonging to the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens are suddenly on a losing streak and lost to --- the Black Hawks????? Ha ha ha, dream on fuckers those records will never be broke.
Top ten highest regular season team points has the Habs listed three times with the 76-77 team at 132 points. Like anything out of the SFU is gonna come close. I love the post season team pick with The Cup surrounded by EVERY piece of hardware the NHL had. So ya good fucking luck. If the 80's Oilers couldn't do it and Super Mario couldn't do it, Captain Underpants, Little Mitchie and Jonny Toronto sure as fuck aren't gonna. I was in high school in the late sixties early seventies and winning The Cup was just normal. It was the natural state of the universe. Go Habs
Math is hard, but winning one game and going from 5th pick to 7th pick is stupid math. Have the guts to tank, this bs hockey players cant tank, okay take away the hockey players, put the zabmone driver in net
Devo gone for the rest of the season now too. That's 4 centres all out at once!! This is abysmal and bad luck can't completely explain it away. I read somewhere a week ago that HuGo has called for a top-down review of all medical/physio/trsining support staff and systems and practices to see if they can reduce the plague of injuries. Seems like 4 out of the last five seasons we've been way over-represented in man-games lost.
C out = MonaHab, DaCHtah, Sevans and Devo LW/RW out = LB, Lep, Whiskey, GI Finn, who else? Feels like I'm forgetting someone. D out = Wifi, Tweed G out = TFS
Well I was out playing some indoor golf. Thought I'd watch the tapes game, saw the first goal 16 seconds in. Alright! But thought I'd check NHL.com to see if it's worth staying up late to keep watching. Boy Ami glad I did that! 7 GA in the first period!? WTF!?
There's tanking then there's stanking and this one stanks!
Sadly a buddy of mine thought this would be a good game to attend before he and the missus head on a Caribbean cruise. To be fair he made those plans when only 1/4 of the team was injured.
Just a thought regarding game threads, after this weekend's b2b against the Tampon Dolts, how about a new thread to start the week and let it run for the whole week? There's not much commenting on game nights anymore because... well, shellackings aren't much fun. Hopefully, some day, when this team becomes relevant after the rebuild, we will have stuff to cheer about when the future powerhouse Habs are beating the snot out of the rebuilding leaf, Dolts, broonz, etc. Can't wait.
Had a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon yesterday, getting a new knee in the next year or so. He said it was time, might as well get it over with.
Mrs CHester is seeing the knee surgeon end of the month Anything is better than the way she is now So I didn’t see slick Nick xcheck the panther must have been a good one for a fine Nice to see that he can lose it every once in a while We’re not playing charades out there Go Habs
"Martin St. Louis says Jonathan Drouin missed a meeting so he was not allowed to practice today and he won’t play tomorrow. He called it a “non-negotiable”"
Imagine taking selfies, answering questions and making friendly conversation with dozens of drunken Montrealers in a crammed downtown pub and not even thinking twice about it. That lad @colecaufield is a class act folks.
Would auston matthews do this? Not a fucking chance.
He has embraced the city like so many do. Its charms are many for those who have the self-assured and open/relaxed mindset needed to allow it in. The lad was made for more than WI could provide and thst's just awesome for us all.
Not going to be pretty tonight. I think the Habs should play the trap, line up five guys at the blue line and let the Dolts try to get through. Try to keep the score to 5 or less, please.

it was a little scary but we managed to lose. Nice nick Yodel. I want a Yodel t shirt. Pathectics are in the playoffs, lets hope it does not last. Can we not send the Drouid to the farm?
It was a decent game but you could sense the inevitability of Tampa scoring goals and winning it. I've said this before, they only have about three or four actual NHLers on the squad at the moment, the rest are AHLers or 'tweeners'. They give a valiant effort but it is what it is. I'm probably going to take a pass on the next two games, maybe watch them play Columbus or fellow bottom feeders. I think I'll spend more time watching the prospect's games. Lane Hutson sounds like a player worth watching or some of the junior teams.
Congrats to the University of New Brunswick Reds on winning the Canadian U Sports men's hockey championship. In other words: Canadian champs! I found the game on CBC Gem streaming.
Gardiner MacDougal is some kind of magician behind the bench, that is his 8th championship plus, the Sea Dogs brought him in last year for the Memorial Cup which he also won!
UNB is my youngest son's alma mater, class of 2019.
Welcome back Leko! Thank you for that great memory! You and Lord Byron scored two of the best goals ever in the last 30 years!
ReplyDeleteHe deserves and will get a nice standing O.
DeleteIt's hard not to like Leko.
DeleteGave everything every night and was underappreciated by BarginBin and Clawed.
He deserves everything good and happy.
Go Habs
Welcome back Leko... Once a Hab...
ReplyDeleteKeep the game close and respect the tank
ReplyDeleteNote to moe thanks for the Ana de Armas pic
Go Habs
Ouf. So completely outclassed.
ReplyDeleteThe Avs have three times as many goals as we have SoG
ReplyDeleteGuess Devo was the straw that broke the Habs' backs. They just can't compete since hr joined Team Clinic.
ReplyDeleteSo not a great start...
ReplyDeleteWhat a load of shit that PP is... Oh my God.
ReplyDeletePowerhorse saves us from utter humiliation!
ReplyDeletePowerhorse!
ReplyDeleteSomebody has mentioned it before but after this season the Habs can take that PP plan with the drop pass back to their own faceoff dots out behind the Bell Centre and bring the torch along too. Burn that fucker to dust and never speak of it again.
ReplyDeleteI confuckingcur.

ReplyDeleteAvs passing is very good... Habs... Not so much
ReplyDeleteYeah, get Jake out of there. He doesn't deserve this.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the Avs let up a bit now, no need to embarrass the team that traded them Leko.
ReplyDeleteFive minutes left in the 2nd and the Habs have 6 shots on goal. Is DoHarm coaching tonight?
ReplyDeleteMacKinnon lucky AX is not playing tonight...
ReplyDeleteGarry!
ReplyDeleteWTF kind of camera work was that? Shitnet sucks.
ReplyDeleteRegarding that stupid drop pass on the PP many, if not all, the teams use it. I have no idea what purpose it serves.
ReplyDeleteI just tuned back in to see the score at 7-2 and Bang! Bang! It's 7-4 suddenly. Just keep it interesting the rest of the year that's all we can ask.
ReplyDeleteMacKinnon being a punk tonight. Sid needs to speak to him. Maybe ratface got to him...
DeleteJesus, the curse of the Habs' endless trips to the clinic has hit Leko too! Broken finger.
ReplyDeleteFucking pyjama jerseys!
Gave up at 4-0.
ReplyDeleteI came in at the end of the first, they were showing the replay of Powerhorse's 20th of the season. Hope trivia doesn't get cancelled with the impending weather coming our way.
DeleteJKHFFB.
I believe we are going to get more rain here on the Fundy coast. More snow inland and up on the Acadia peninsula.
DeleteBad day on the tankathon wheel. Gave it a spin and 2 lower teams moved up leaving the Habs with 7 and 15. The worst possible scenario.
ReplyDeleteIt took 5 spins to get Bedard today but only one yesterday.
DeleteThread updates above ...
ReplyDeleteNice! Whoever that is.
DeleteSame pretty gal, Ana de Armas.
DeleteOK Moe any more Ana and I'm gonna have to go take a cold shower
DeleteGo Habs
If the Habs win the lottery and land Bedard and HuGo can pry Jean Luc out of Winnipeg, they are an instant contender. We just have to suffer these last 15 games.
ReplyDeleteHabs could go 1-14 in those last 15 games and I'd take it. You can guess who I want them to beat. (FWIW, I don't give a shit about the 2 broons games)
DeleteIt's a weird place to be. I can never actively cheer for the boys to lose. But I'm fine when they do. And I'm happy for them when they win. Especially against unsaid team mentioned by moe.

ReplyDelete3 goals on 5 shots
ReplyDeleteGuuri
ReplyDeleteNSFD!
DeleteHey don't shoot me boys but Habs could win this one tonight. Pens are not looking sharp
ReplyDeleteDrouin is so soft his agent is working on Charmin or Cottonelle as endorsements.
ReplyDeleteMunster!
ReplyDelete4 goals on 7 shots
DeleteHabs with 4 goals on 7 shots... Fuck. Me that's pretty good shootin
ReplyDeleteJHFFB!
ReplyDeleteBelzile arguing he didn't trip anybody. I note that nobody fell.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the quantity of shots...
ReplyDeleteBoy with that start I thought they were looking at giving up another 8 spot. I mean they still could but I love the bounce back. It's great for morale even going into next season knowing they're never out even with half an AHL roster.

ReplyDeleteHe's a keeper. Love his growth this year.
DeletePowerhorse seals it! Nice gritty win, les boys. GYFHG!!
ReplyDeleteWell 2 pts they didn't need but it's the first win in 8 so it's fine. Gives the guys life and confidence. Monty gave up 4 but still made some incredible saves, could still be a big part of the future.

DeleteI thought last year was bad, this year is even worse for injuries. It can't just be bad fortune. Someone has to figure this out.
DeleteWe cant lose tonite, expect if it goes to OT
ReplyDeleteAll the pressure is on FLA. Habs got nuthin' to lose and everything to gain.
ReplyDeleteJust somebody punch Gudas in the face please.

ReplyDeleteDon't Knock it, Sprocket Rocket!

ReplyDelete3 goals on 3 shots now for the Bob

ReplyDelete5-3 halfway through the first period. Imagine being a Panthers fan and just arriving now.
ReplyDeleteWhite Rabbit!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! What the heck is this?
ReplyDeleteI just watched Star Trek Picard and tune into this?
ReplyDeleteThe wheels have fallen off the goaltending. Paging Carter Hart...
And now a phantom penalty on Sprocket as Monty comes back in net.
ReplyDeleteOnly need 5 goals
ReplyDeleteTake a seat Iron, no need to get hurt again in this shitshow.
ReplyDeleteBad things happen a lot to Habs in this rink.
DeletePretty sure this is where he originally hurt his knee back in December, Barkov fell on his leg behind the net.

Nice to see that he can lose it every once in a while

Hoping Nature keeps his powder dry until they face the leaf and hammers the fuck out of Narcos. That would be fine-worthy.
ReplyDeleteCoach MSL and Habs mng't's Vinny L. being inducted into TAM HoF tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteNot going to be pretty tonight. I think the Habs should play the trap, line up five guys at the blue line and let the Dolts try to get through. Try to keep the score to 5 or less, please.
ReplyDeleteGood idea. Instead of the trap we can call it The Fence.
ReplyDeleteNew technique.
Go Habs
Have you ever heard Lou Reed speak of the CHoak. This is one of those games where Lou Reed could have an influnce. Its harder for him now because, well he left us too soon years ago. However if a good AI was employed it could telus, not the phone company tellus, no tell us something important.

ReplyDeleteit was a little scary but we managed to lose. Nice nick Yodel. I want a Yodel t shirt. Pathectics are in the playoffs, lets hope it does not last. Can we not send the Drouid to the farm?
ReplyDeleteGot Bedard on the first spin this morning!
ReplyDeleteIf they get him the rebuild is over, they only have to learn how to grow together.
I know one thing, I'll be glad to see the end of the Droumez circus.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Hope he finds something rewarding besides being on the CH roster.
DeleteMissed the game due to a pleasant distraction.
