Welcome back Luke! No offense but I hope your team doesn't win tonight.
Ryan Reaves no doubt is one tough dude, but I think he turned down a rematch with AX later in the game. It was funny seeing the dumb as a rock leaf crowd waving their rally towels thinking he won the fight earlier.
For Wifi to know in MarCh he will have to take down the bully of the whole NHL, I wonder about his mental health. Yesterday when I grew up this would not even be a consideration, but today its like what if Revess has transgender thoughts, can you still hit her:|?
Should be a good game, but the M, like myself, you may want to keep an eye on the USC/Notre Dame game on NBC at 830. Caleb Williams, the USC QB is supposed to be the biggest 'sure thing's to be a star since Andrew Luck. Each of our teams might have a chance at him...
I wonder how much leaf blowing will take place on the pre-game tonight? Those clowns are probably still whackin' off to the narcos hat trick and will hardly pay any attention to Connor Bedard's hnit debut.
It seemed a bit disjointed waiting for the players to get to centre before announcing them, but man am I glad to see they've finally retired the torch! I swear that thing was a curse.
yeah, kinda weird. its supposed to be synched with monsieur announcer! and the visitors are supposed be introduced first so they can see how awesome their opponents are.
i only saw bits of him last year, but with koko gone, any chance yolo can be him 2.0? same hands (from what i saw last game) but looks a little bigger also
yeah, was just about to say something also. man... they are really good at developping D-men for some reason (snowman, tin-tin, juul, czar, kadillac...)
is he still getting top 4 minutes over there? i thought it was a mistake letting him go...
yeah, appears so. he took a skate after that bench ride. cbc guys said maybe a knee injury, but cameras caught him pointing to his thigh. CHarley horse?
Decent period, PP looked good but still needs work. Chicago is really bad, the Habs should be up a couple. Monty looked decent too. What an ugly haircut on Bieksa. Blecchh.
Yeah the M, Chicago tanked hard for Bedard by giving away other young talent in Debrincat and Dach. No matter how good the kid is, it will take a few years for them to recover.
oh, thnk gawd. im traumatised by our team doing stupid things like bringing in pos like mclaren, commodore, mailloux... so im never sure if i dreamed it up or not.
The only reason Chicago is even in this game is all the weakass penalties being called on Montreal. Chicago will be looking at the 1st overall pick again. They will have a Bedard/Cellebrini combo next year. All part of the buttman plan.
Agreed. Monty looks like the #1, but Allan had a much tougher opponent.
I watched some of the Canucks game...DeSmith looks like he might have been the one to keep. Played very well.
Monahan won 88% of his faceoffs! Not since Yannick Perreault have we had that kind of success.
Hate to admit it after the beatings he's taken for this team, but Gallagher's best days are clearly behind him. 4 years left at 6.5 per...definitely MB's biggest leftover gaff. Just have to hope he can find his old self or some part of it.
Agreed about Jake. The pathetic leaf hammered Minnesota last night.
The DeSmith trade is a wash, I like Tanner Pearson.
Monahan is a keeper, he is their best center (at the moment) bar none.
And yes, Lep is a diminished version of himself. Can't keep up and it looks like his hands are gone as well. I have no idea how HuGo will handle this one. They can't trade him and they won't discard a beloved figure. The only solution may be LTIR.
Congrats to Tusk and other opposition leaders in Poland. If I were Tusk this would def be my theme song as I walk out onstage. https://youtu.be/ATMR5ettHz8?si=KlxOTDpSfmRp4C_q
1. It is confirmed that the Patriots and especially Mac Jones are absolute trash. I don't see how they can keep starting him unless BB is now playing Supreme Tank Commander.
2. Giants nearly pull off a huge upset! I was cheering for them (more wins than the Pats is good and I hate the Bills even more than the G-men). FWIW I think they were robbed on the last play and there should have been a PI penalty called on Barfalo.
Goddammit! And I read that the logical call up would be Heineman, but he suffered a concussion after a freak collision with an official on the weekend.
I blamed the torch, but it's clear that the curse is Bettman. He didn't have the chance to work his mojo his first year at the helm, when the Habs last won the cup. One way or another, he's gotta go...
Lots of angst about Kirby Dach's knee. I would remind people that the General Vodkov had two knee surgeries and never missed a beat upon his return. Also, Serge Savard broke both of his legs early in his career and we know how that turned out.
Second coming of Louis Cyr, this time on skates.
ReplyDeleteGreat thread, moe. Luke Richardson returns, Connor Bedard stepping onto Canadiensland for the home opener, great script.
ReplyDeleteForgot about Richardson. Welcome back Luke.
DeleteHope the Habs fans give him a nice round of cheers.
Commodore Perry too, but not his first return if memory serves.
DeleteWelcome back Luke! No offense but I hope your team doesn't win tonight.

Seen Bedard live twice. He still getting settled -- not going to be a factor. F- Corey Perry. Habs 4-2 (EN from Dach).
ReplyDeleteAll that I ask is the Fragile line play like Yours is No Disgrace
ReplyDeleteHabs gonna show the HNIC viewers how to do a home opener. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteGreat thread moe.
ReplyDeleteOriginal 6 matchup and CBC is showing...leaf/Wild. Still so sad that corporate greed took over HNIC.
Anyway, go Habbies!

ReplyDeleteOne can only hope! No Daniel Jones against the Bills tomorrow evening. I wonder if the Giants have a Brock Purdy - type QB hangin' around?
DeleteI wonder how much leaf blowing will take place on the pre-game tonight? Those clowns are probably still whackin' off to the narcos hat trick and will hardly pay any attention to Connor Bedard's hnit debut.
ReplyDeleteSo the leaf blowers manage to talk about Bedard and Dach, then mclame gets bored and says 'ok let's get to the leaf story.'
ReplyDeleteImmediately hit the mute button.
Soi have a good SN feed on Onhockey.tv.. tonight. Here we go!
ReplyDeleteCoaches all look shitnscared
ReplyDeleteMore noise for MSL that tranna made all night on Wednesdday
ReplyDeleteWhen is the last time we heard a cheer like that for a coach? Jacques Demers?
DeleteKinda different way to introduce them this year...by position
ReplyDeleteIt seemed a bit disjointed waiting for the players to get to centre before announcing them, but man am I glad to see they've finally retired the torch! I swear that thing was a curse.
ReplyDeleteyeah, kinda weird. its supposed to be synched with monsieur announcer! and the visitors are supposed be introduced first so they can see how awesome their opponents are.
ReplyDelete(where is lord byron?)
LB has retired and has an off ice position with the team, but I forget what exactly.
Deletescrew that. the torch is fantastic. only reason why it was a curse cause they havent brought home the cup since 30yrs ago!
ReplyDeleteGYFHG! 2023-24!!
ReplyDeleteA smidge underwhelming is how id rate that opening...
ReplyDeletei only saw bits of him last year, but with koko gone, any chance yolo can be him 2.0? same hands (from what i saw last game) but looks a little bigger also
ReplyDeleteim confused... was that a good pp, or do i just have low expectations now?
ReplyDeleteIt was far.better than we're used to seeing for sure
Deletecrap.... now i know why u guys have been so high on ghule. big ooph is a bully!
ReplyDeleteanother confusion: should his number be retired?
ReplyDeleteFuck you Vlasic
ReplyDeletenot sure if anybody saw it, but all that was started by nature boi throwing that hit vs their D
ReplyDeletewhy da facq was that faceoff in the neutral zone, if the penalty is against CHI?!!?
ReplyDeleteHey, big TinTin is still in the league.
ReplyDeleteyeah, was just about to say something also. man... they are really good at developping D-men for some reason (snowman, tin-tin, juul, czar, kadillac...)
ReplyDeleteis he still getting top 4 minutes over there? i thought it was a mistake letting him go...
Sof...
ReplyDeleteDach hurt?
ReplyDeleteyeah, appears so. he took a skate after that bench ride. cbc guys said maybe a knee injury, but cameras caught him pointing to his thigh.
DeleteCHarley horse?
Good solid period...
ReplyDeleteDecent period, PP looked good but still needs work. Chicago is really bad, the Habs should be up a couple. Monty looked decent too. What an ugly haircut on Bieksa. Blecchh.
ReplyDeletehahahaah... noticed that also!
DeleteThat entire segment...not one mention of the Habs...apart from the Bedard piece
ReplyDeleteNo Dach.
ReplyDeleteWhiskey!!
ReplyDeleteannouncer guy is right. we should keep track of all his goals which will be called off this year as well
DeleteCaufield!
ReplyDeleteSingle malt, 12 years-aged, Scotch Whiskey!!!!
ReplyDeleteBowmore 12 year old, my fave!
DeleteYeah the M, Chicago tanked hard for Bedard by giving away other young talent in Debrincat and Dach. No matter how good the kid is, it will take a few years for them to recover.
ReplyDeleteCut 'em out, ride 'em in...
ReplyDeleteRawhide!!!!
First DK's song I ever heard.
Deletehttps://youtu.be/Elf1We0FuXM?si=2t_mcuA8zL5GDn_Y
Rawhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide!
ReplyDeleteRawhide!
ReplyDeletePearson! Has he got a nick? Needs one
ReplyDeletesomebody mansplain please? hes a broncos fan or he owns a dude ranch?
ReplyDeleteFirst name Tanner is also a profession.
DeleteThat was an amazing shift by Guhle on the Rawhide goal.
ReplyDeleteI am slightly behind clearly...hehehe
ReplyDeletelove how aggressive RHP and 7evans are allowed to be doing the pk
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they kept Dach out, no more of this playing hurt nonsense...
ReplyDeleteSiM, I will always link the Rawhide them to the Blues Brothers. That DK version is, what do the kids say these days...Fire!?
ReplyDeleteMoneyHab!
ReplyDeleteCarey Price in da house!!!
ReplyDeleteWiFi clocked Perry nice! ☺️
ReplyDeleteHang in there boys! I'm outta here...JFW! GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteSean Monahan is so good. He's a keeper in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to love Alex Newhook. Crazy skill and speed to burn.
AX, go easy on Commodore, I still have a soft spot for that guy. I haven't forgot 2021.
monoham... what is the truth about that thing with him and erikksson?
ReplyDeleteno, sorry: karlsson?
DeleteYou are thinking about Hoffman. He's in San Jose now.
Deleteoh, thnk gawd. im traumatised by our team doing stupid things like bringing in pos like mclaren, commodore, mailloux... so im never sure if i dreamed it up or not.
Deletehoffman... wasnt he also on our team?

ReplyDeleteChicago will be looking at the 1st overall pick again. They will have a Bedard/Cellebrini combo next year. All part of the buttman plan.
Teams will quickly figure out they just need to play 6 on 5 vs the Habs. No need for a goalie.
ReplyDeleteGood job hanging on there. Thanks left post.
Man, they cannot defend that 6 on 5. Somebody better figure that out soon.
ReplyDeleteNice home opener win, boys! Monty looking very much like our #1
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Monty looks like the #1, but Allan had a much tougher opponent.
ReplyDeleteI watched some of the Canucks game...DeSmith looks like he might have been the one to keep. Played very well.

Whiskey will get at least 80 goals. Dach Vader is fragile.
DeleteBTW the M, that QB looked like trash last night. Which I'm ok with...as my name might suggest, I'm a fan of the Fighting Irish.
ReplyDeleteBut he's still the #1 QB and will likely go first overall assuming that is a team in need of one.
😥
DeleteSome nice goals.
ReplyDeleteLearn to keep a lead boys.
Only 1 measly point behind the leaf.
No looking at the standings until end of November! Still 80 games to go...Hope Dach is ok...Nice way to hang in there boys!
DeleteHeh, JKOC
DeleteRIP Suzanne Somers
ReplyDeleteSoon the whole cast will be in heaven. Stupid show but I loved it
DeleteRIP, she was hot back in the day.
DeleteRIP Christmas Snow, one of my first celebrity crushes.
DeleteCongrats to Tusk and other opposition leaders in Poland. If I were Tusk this would def be my theme song as I walk out onstage.

Didn't watch the second half, too late for me to be up. Still on track for a high pick although the Giants have Carolina next week.
DeleteHow about those Jets though? And Browns? I dud have my hopes up for a while...
DeleteAt least my Steelers didn't lose.
ReplyDeleteGo Hawks.
Dach out long term. We just can't have nice things. 😪
ReplyDeleteDid everyone forget to tell TinTin Bergy is long gone? Dang!
DeleteGoddammit! And I read that the logical call up would be Heineman, but he suffered a concussion after a freak collision with an official on the weekend.

Way to go Hawks!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, tsk tsk, how could the greatest team ever lose to a bottom feeder?
ReplyDeleteRegardless, well done, Chicago!
