  1. Nice one moe.

I'd like to see Monahab centre line 2. I think he's better than a 3rd line centre...and apologies to Gally but I think he just hurts Monahab's potential. We'll see how the New C does. Hopefully he doesn't need to be Hooked too soon.

I would like to see Monahab as second line center as well. Put Anderson and Slaf with him. Put RHP on line one. Hook between Rawhide and Lep. 4th line = 7evans, (Y)2.0 and Pez.

All that being said, I look for the Habs to fumble this one tonight. I will be tuning in late, it's trivia night!

  4. -2 on one powerplay. Nice.

How can a PP be this damn pathetic for this long?! Why does Alex Burrows still have a job?

    2. But...but...but it works for team X (insert name of a team with better players and better coaching) so it'll eventually work for the Habs!!!

  5. It could easily have been 6-0 Wild after one.

Looks like going to trivia night was the right choice.

The PK is horrid. The PP is beyond horrid and embarrassing to watch. The goaltending is not good. The players seem out of sync. Is it time to point the finger of blame behind the bench?

    1. Yes at Burrows and whoever is in charge of the PK. But not 'yet' at MSL. Aside from those atrocities you've noted, it's clear this team is still too young and inexperienced to go very far. I fear the prognosticators may be right and this could be a bottom 5 team again. Especially if these damned injuries keep coming. So keeping expectations low, what we need to see from MSL is ensuring the young players are all improving and showing growth. If Slaf doesn't round out his game and learn to use that big body, if Suzuki regresses, if CC only scores 25-30, if the young D-men don't improve play in their own zone...I think these are the types of things that need to be measured after this season to determine if MSL is the man for the job or not.

Usually when a head coach is changed he cleans house and hires His Guys. I think the only change other that cleaning the medical staff out by management was loosing Luc Richardson. I thing MSL is keeping his powder dry while gaining a bit of experience behind the bench. This is prob the only time he will be cut some slack as everybody is young and new and there is little pressure to pile up the wins. I'm sure moves will be made as the PP is too important a tool to just leave it to languish at the bottom of the league.
Oh and special note to Moe, keep the Ana pics coming please
      Go Habs

  10. Good read by Stubbs on the toned down opening ceremonies. He was kind enough not to point out that it was actually kind of bad. Disjointed is the only word that comes to mind for me. But I agree with the retirement of the torch and focus on past glories. It's like Pumba said in The Lion King "You gotta put your behind in the past." In 2033, I don't want to be like the leaf and have an opening ceremony celebrating our last cup 40 years ago. Holy crap that was 2007...where is time going?!

I always thought the torch ceremony and the alumni Legends was over the top. I'm glad they turfed it. It was past time to stop living off past glories.
