D2 and her bf home for the holiday. Got them a fire stick and a $75/year IPTV subscription and trying it out by watching the Canes broadcast. I think I'll soon be cutting the cable, this thing has over 50000 movies , live tv and loads of old series from all the sources. And live sports...and I can split the screen and watch 3 games at once ( 4 causes buffering).
Barron's offensive upside notwithstanding, first order of business for any d-man is defensive play in his own zone. Needs to learn a few things and the AHL is better suited for him to fix those things because his confidence requires it. LC can sit still in Laval and do the same for as long as it takes. We have HondaCivic and Lindstrom and everyone healthy so...
I'm wondering just how long this log jam at D will continue. We have 6 capable D men playing tonight and we have Honda Civic, Wifi, and that Gustov guy that are parked, and Norlander and Engstrom in the hunt. Then there is Mailloux, Hutson and Reinbacher coming up. Something has to give. We have three goalies a plethoria of D men and we are very thin at forward. Hugo must be sniffing for a trade at this point unless we are just keeping our powder dry for the end of the season chaos. Perhaps my patience is wearing thin. Go Habs
This topic is being discussed ad nauseum on many Habs fans sites. HuGo knows all this and is patiently waiting for his move. He doesn't care what we think or the press thinks. Also, it's hard to move players because most of the good teams are capped out or very close to it. Something will eventually give, like you said we have to be patient as well.
OK, so lose two more games then go home and make some personnel changes on the ice, maybe off the ice too.
G.I. Finn back to Laval. AX back up, von Clumsy down. Trade a goalie. Trade a defenceman. Learn how to kill a penalty. Learn how to score on a power play.
Lately, I've been skipping the 1st period then checking the score to see if there is any hope. After last night I think I will skip the 2nd and 3rd periods tonight as well.
There were a couple of positives last night though. The Detroit Pistons broke their losing streak against the toronto crap-turds. And, the low-life carolina wind-bags beat the wretched, putrid leaf so last night wasn't a complete loss.
These broadcasts keep mentioning how great it is that the Habs have the most goals by the D in the league. They fail to mention that the Habs have the fifth fewest total goals and the majority of the top D scoring teams are also near the top of the total goals scored.
Ipso fatso (Archi Bunker reference), it's clear the Habs forwards therefore are at or very near the bottom of the goal scoring list. This will come as no shock to any of you, but just confirming the offensive ineptitude of this team.
I wonder if many of these young players have already hit their ceiling?
Many of the vets are toast.
Woeful offence, poor defensive play (by everybody) and sometimes suspect goaltending equals another lottery pick. Good luck HuGo, I'm positive you can find another D in the top 5.

ReplyDeleteDon't tell any internet lawyers you might know, not sure how this thing works or how long it will last.
DeleteOK the Carolina color guy is a homer like any other color guy. I like the pxp guy though.
ReplyDeletePowerhorse heating up....
ReplyDeleteGo powerhorse
ReplyDeleteGo Habs
Some fight in the habs tonight but too many mistakes...on to FLA
ReplyDeleteNeed wifi back, Barron needs seasoning in the AHL.
ReplyDelete100% agreed.

DeleteFlorida played last night and beat the Rags. Maybe they will be ....tired? ....warmed up?
ReplyDeleteI just hope the Habs don't get embarrassed like the last couple of times playing these clowns.

DeleteThe camera shows Paul Maurice and I am reminded to pace my expectations. GYFHG boys.
ReplyDeleteGo Pistons! Playing the Raptors and trying to avoid an NBA record worst 29th loss in a row. Can't think of a better time to stop that skid.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, GHG...JFWIR.
Lomberg can eat shit
ReplyDeleteNot sure what to make if that period...not a lot of possession but more shots than the cats Good fight for Pezz...
ReplyDeleteWhiskey!
ReplyDeleteAnd MSL just mouthed: "fuck me!" Live on TV, lol
ReplyDeleteSTFOTB!
ReplyDeletePhew
ReplyDeleteWhoever these morons are on CityTV, they seem completely disenchanted with anything going the Habs' way. RDS is so much better (replays too).
ReplyDeleteThinking HondaCivic's trade is in the works but only to be public after the New Year. They are opting not to play him in case of injury.
ReplyDeleteGI Finn is GI Dim
ReplyDeleteThere is very little scoring ability on this team. If any.
ReplyDeleteRecall they are missing DaCH, TJ, Rawhide and H-P
DeleteI honestly don't think they would make much difference.
DeleteNever mind...one more to go in Tampa - here's to ending 23 with a bang!

Happy New Year All!!
Missed it entirely ...
ReplyDeleteAlso, what TheM. said.
You didn't miss anything.

ReplyDeleteBit late to the party... watching the fireworks as I welcomed 2024 into the UK...great show. Whaddimiss?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year UK3X! 🥳
ReplyDeletePretty quiet here.
Whiskey!!!
Wtf would this be a penalty at all, let alone a major?
ReplyDeleteJust a big hit on a guy with his head down.
That's BS. It's a clean hit on a guy with the puck. So they evened it up instead. Cowards.
DeleteWow. A bizarre HondaCivic empty better!
ReplyDeleteNetter, better. Tomato, tomorrow.
DeleteTomorrow, tomotto...
DeleteMonty felt bad so he gave one back.
ReplyDeleteMonty played that one sof...
ReplyDeleteHabs need a solid period. 20 strong minutes and a fucking goal
ReplyDeleteFuck sake...saw that coming from the UK ffs!
ReplyDeleteThis game is going into the shitter..fuck sake...

Well fuck that for 2023...Here's to 2024 ...Thanks Moe. HNY.
ReplyDeleteNature. Probably too late.
ReplyDelete3 losses in the southeast. As expected.
ReplyDeleteWell that sucks. Happy New Year. Things can only get better.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year FHFers!
ReplyDeleteAll the best everyone. Onto 2024 !

Moe's Steelers still alive. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI hung on to win my Fantasy league! 4th in 10 years, that should be considered a Dynasty right? I mean it took Brady 14 years to get his 4th.
Happy new year FHF all the best to all of us!
ReplyDeleteMay 2024 bring a sniper and a high draft pick
Go Habs
Kansas was great all tournament but his Slovaks couldn't get past Finland, finally. Go Canada! Go Beck!

ReplyDeleteCanada is out. Good game plan by the Czechs. Never make a Leaf your captain. I'm rooting for Hutson and Team USA from here on out.
