  1. Poker night for me. I'll record it and see if it makes for some Good Friday morning viewing, or if they get crucified.

    Go Habs.

  2. That goal reminded me of one of Andrei Markov's back door PP goals. What a player that guy was. Screw you bergy.

  3. Great start...Yodel and Nature score...Slaf on fire...Ready 4 Primetime looking very solid.

  4. Nice to see a 30 goal scorer on the Habs again, been too long. KidG the last guy to do it.

  5. AX not taking any crap off the phucktards, good to see.

  6. That was a very strong period by the Habs. Really doing a job of pushing the flyers to the outside. Skating hard by everyone. Even White appears to be working hard. I'm sticking around tonight...

  7. Teams aren't taking liberties with the Habs anymore with AX, Pez, Strobe and to a lesser extent Josh on the ice.

I have to admit I had my doubts about Primeau, but he is looking solid lately.

  8. Wow, two goals disallowed in Montreal's favour. Unheard of in the annals of history.

  9. This ain't working boys...

  10. Three penalties for AX tonight ... Coach Marty won't be happy about that.

    1. Even Torts knew that 2nd goal was offside.

The 1st one even the idiots in the tranna war room knew that was kicked in.

  12. Halfway through the third and no SOG yet for Habs.

  13. So far 5 pucks have crossed the goal line in this 2-0 game. That's hockey eh?

  14. Nice unselfish play by MnM.

  15. Maths got smacked in the head, no call. He looked a little sluggish after and Philthys score one finally.

  16. Big statement win. Phuck you Phlyers

  17. 3 wins in a row and I legitimately cannot remember the last time Montreal won the first game home after a long road trip. Good vibes.

  18. Maths got his bell ring just before that Philly goal. Head shot not called.

  19. Still...nice win boys and 3 in a row for the 1st time this year. GYFHG

OK now I don’t want to be the ungrateful one here but we have an effin tank to drive ok so we should stop slapping around the good teams
    Focus people
    Go Habs

  21. Tank...shmank...Just fucking win! The flyers were all over that Habs in the 3rd but they didn't quit and kept moving their feet. That's all MSL asks - that they compete. I don't believe any pro hockey player ever wants to lose. Everyone on the team is playing for a job next season - Lip doesn't quit, The Powerhorse keeps plugging away. Even Blanche 2.0 looked to be making an effort. The future is bright people. So GYFHG!

  22. Watched the game this morning. It is a good Friday. Great job shutting down Philthy. A low shot total isn't a recipe for continued success but shutting teams down with solid D and goaltending is a great place to start. I'm gonna keep preaching that the team needs another elite scorer. Looking forward to the off season.

I agree tank schmank. Grow a winning culture. The team is almost guaranteed to finish in the 4-7 slot, probably 6 or 7 regardless so keep on fucking with the contenders.

    Go Habs!

    ReplyDelete
  23. No offence to our good FHFriend CHester but I think Suzuki and company have parked the Tank for the rest of this year. I like watching wins for a change, it's been a rough couple of years. The Habs look like they are starting to grasp what Coach Marty has been teaching. I think this very young team is starting to turn the corner. Fingers crossed for good heath next season.

Looking at the standings it looks like the Habs will pick around 6th or 7th, depending on how the active Tanks decide they want to finish. Based on the latest lists it looks like after Celebrini and Demidov there will be a big run on defencemen and it's possible Demidov could drop down as well. So Hughes and company will be likely getting a top notch forward regardless. That being said, the 2024 pick will probably be returned to their current club as there is absolutely no need to rush them to the NHL. Kent Hughes will definitely be looking for a sniper to take the pressure off Whiskey who is squeezing his stick too tightly and preferring to dish off instead of shooting lately. Muddy even mentioned last night CC might be still recovering from the shoulder surgery. Any major surgery can take up to a year to recover from and I can attest to that. I'm actually looking forward to the off season to see if KH can pull a rabbit out of his hat like Bullwinkle.

Man, I so want them to beat the crap out of the Carolina Douchebags tomorrow night. I despise those arseholes.

    Go Habs!

    2. Ha ha, no worries CHester! Believe me, I was on the Tank train the last two years but this year is different. All the good forwards this year will be available after #5 whereas last year you needed to be below 5 if you didn't want Michkov. HuGo will make the right pick again.

  26. Another sacrifice to the Hockey Gods. Oh well its Easter might as well have faith. Nice to see we are overloaded with quality goalies and D men. Lets hope we get a good crop of forwards. Deputy Dawg is blowing up the OHL. With him and the sheriff on patrol it will be a target rich enviorment for our snipers. Next year playoffs, year after cup.

Amen. I have no way to evalutate the Sheriff. For sure he is a unicorn, but is he a top six on a cup club? Maybe Deputy Dawg is only a 4 liner. However our 4th line today is fantastic.
I believe, believe and believe we will win the Cup withing five years and the Jackeye Bros will live along side the greats in Hab history.

  28. Guhle suspended 1 game. Didn't notice it during the game. No penalty. Flyers must have sent it to the league. Nothing play but you can't be doing that shit from the bench. DoPS is terrible. I'd be fine with this being a game if they didn't hand out $5K fines for attempted decapitations. The difference? This is "not a hockey play"...

So no real forward offensive types available after celebrini and half a dov
I can’t see Hugo picking another D so we must be packaging a trade bundle for an established prospect or a real guy player type
We should be in the mix for a play off spot next year so we’re gonna have to score some goals
Either way they have to come in and play no minor league play some day later type guy
    We’re past that
    Hugo needs another panarin guy
Wonder if Jean luc is fed up with his latest team yet course 8 large is too steep for us but who knows the deals that are out there to be had
    Hope springs eternal… too corny
    Sorry

    1. No thank you to PLD. I doubt he would handle the pressure any better than Drouin.

Not sure what the answer is but I expect Hughes to surprise us again at the draft and deal that pick for scoring.

      Delete
    2. No thanks to Jean Luc, L.A. and bergy are stuck with him for the next 7 years at least.

If Hughes is trading this year's pick, there will be a high end scorer coming back for sure. Call it a hunch but I think Logan in Laval is the D that gets moved in a package. I just feel there is a little stain on the organization to be removed.

      Delete
    3. I'm not a PLD fan either (I suspect it's an attitude/work ethic/heart-check thing), but given how GI Finn has responded, I don't think it's safe to bet against the MSL Academy of reHab-ilitation with anyone HuGo and MSL see as having potential.

      Delete
  30. The four forwards who interest me after the obvious first two are Lindstrom, Eiserman, Catton and Iginla. If Hughes can snag one of them that would be fine for the future. But, like CHester said, I believe Hughes and Gorton (from recent interviews) are ready to push for the playoffs. Like Larry the Cable Guy said: Git'er done! After all, I'm not getting any younger...

  33. Kid KoHo might be a healthy scratch tonight. What a fiasco he turned out to be. Picked too high in his draft year and the victim of a revenge offer sheet with the most blatant trolling I've ever seen. That poor kid should have played in Finland for at least 2 years after being picked maybe longer. But biceps bergy was trying to cover his ass and justify the #3 spot. Terrible management. Makes me appreciate the new team even more.

    ReplyDelete
  34. CHester4:06 PM

    Agree
Kid koko is making almost 7 large until the end of time too bad bicep blew the no 1 that came back we can see what can be done with a pick
Might be spring but I haven’t had this much confidence in Hab management since I can’t remember
Was never impressed with savard and the fuck ups that gainey orchestrated should be required reading at GM school I still get pissed at throwing in mcdonnagh in for was it the mexicant or that other midget
    Anyway I digress
But I just think that some of our vets are bouncing down to 3rd 4th liners so we need probably two studs and then I think it’s time to put our pencils down and start watching for fine tuning
    Go Habs

  35. as im writing this, play has continued for about 1:00 after matheson has just apparently scored. if that goal is indeed proven good at the next whistle, what happens if somebody scores before the next whistle? what if somebody gets a penalty? are these all simply wiped away as if it never happened?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If that had been a goal, all stats after that point would have been wiped out and the clock set back to the time of the goal.

      Delete
    2. ok, so thats what i thought and also makes the most sense. if thats the case, they if you are the team which scored, why would you not deliberately try for a stoppage in play forcing the refs to review?

the longer the play goes on, the worst case scenario would be if you scored again, but at best after everything is sorted out, you only get to keep 1 of the goals

      Delete
  36. I'm guessing Koho's confidence ain't that high. He had a wide open net after that sequence where Matheson thought he scored, and he chose to pass instead.

  52. CHester12:04 AM

So CHesters Thoughts cause he can’t seem to sleep anymore
    So top 2 lines are:
Suzi centering CC and The Slavster
Dach centering TJ Hooker and maybe J Roy
4th line would be Sevens centering Galley and powerhorse
A checking line cause they can’t score anymore
That leaves the newly rejuvenated GI Finn and the rest of them that nobody cares about
So we are just two guys away you know barring injuries
Hugo should be able to snag one stud with picks and maybe a D package or maybe we pick no1 or 2 and get cellebrini or half a dov
But my point is that we are not that far away
We are one/two goals away from winning all those one goal losses or the OT losses there was a shitload of them
I’m comfortable thinking playoffs next season
    Just sayin
    Go Habs

    1. All well thought out CHester but I'm not holding my breath for the 'p' word, as Jeff Gorton likes to say. I think some of the teams above Montreal in the standings have to 'age out' like Sid and Ovi's teams for them to have a chance. Actually, I can't even think that far out, the next thing on my calendar is the NFL draft to see what my NY Giants do and after that the opening of golf season.

In the meantime we can cheer against the wretched, putrid, despicable leaf and their sycophantic media plus all those leafools who stand out in maple leaf square for a few nights every spring just to watch those chokers lose.

  53. Well it's April Fool's Day and we citizens sure got the rug pulled out from under our feet today. We got our property tax bill in early March with a whopping 10% increase. NB Power raised their rates today 13.2% for residential customers. The Province in conjunction with the feds raised the price of booze today 2 or 3%, I can't remember how much. Anything else? Oh yeah, PM Trudeau jacked up his favourite tax of all time the carbon tax. Actually, this one doesn't bother me a lot as I drive an electric car and NB Power will cash in on that but, I'm sure Sobey's and Loblaws will be increasing the price of food again. I'm thinking I should go sign up at the nearest local food bank and go to Canadian Tire and check out the price of tents.

Mrs CHester and myself are retired and we watch our buying power just get stripped away by across the board increases. We are used to fuel prices being continually increased so we are numb to that and we live in the bell province and we are all electric and hydro quebec jacks up prices regularly but the one that gets me is food. I can't believe how much it costs to just friggin eat. For the first time I am checking the circulars and going to Costco, IGA, Maxi and Super C to try and get the best prices and still the food budget gets blown up. I picked the wrong time to quit drinking.
      Go Habs

    2. I always keep an eye on the flyers for deals. If you can afford the fuel and the supermarkets aren't far away you can get daily deals with 50% off sometimes but you have to be there early because the seniors have figured that out. Since you don't sleep much you should take advantage. I don't drink much any more. I might have one beer a week or a wee dram of scotch or bourbon. The ol'' stomach can't tolerate a lot of alcohol these days.

There might be some good news though, keep an eye on the upcoming budget as I heard the Liberals may try to buy the votes of certain seniors with possible increases to the OAS. Funny, one pundit even suggested that the politicians may try to coax some seniors back into the work force so they can afford to buy food and pay for electricity. Good luck with that, they can all eff off.

  54. Today I finally took the leap and cut the cable. Next step will be dropping Bell altogether. Still charging me over $50/month more for internet than new customers pay. Wouldn't budge on the fact I've been paying them loyally for over 10 years. Just need to do some shopping around...fact is Bell has the fastest internet around and I'm going to be streaming everything. Fuck those evil bastards though...I will find a solution.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Here's your solution:

      1) Go to The Source store nearest you.
      2) Tell an employee that you are cancelling your Bell package.
      3) Tell them to open an account in your wife's name, she will be a 'new' customer and you will get your discount. You will also get a Source gift card of some amount. My son has done it more than once.

      Delete
    2. Also, Telus will be offering an internet package soon. Could be another solution.

      Delete
    3. Teksavvy customer here. They piggyback on Bell's DSL so just as fast.

    4. Interesting about the Source, but I'm just as happy to dissolve myself from those 2 faced fuckers anyway.

There is a company here called Purple Cow that has great reviews I will probably go with.

  55. Regarding grocery prices, there is a small independent grocer here called Gateway Meat Market (look them up if you have Facebook). Today somebody posted their receipt and a table comparing prices to Superstore and Walmart. Gateway price $173. The other two were each $329.

It's small and are often lines to get in (though they are expanding soon). And people are driving over 2 hours just to ship there. Sucks, it's only 3 minutes from me and I was happy when the entire province didn't know about it. I just have to figure the best time to go to avoid too much of a line because fuck Galen Weston.

    1. We have Dan's Country Market, the City Market and On the Vine here, usually pretty good for meat and produce but don't buy your dry goods there. Like I said, I keep an eye on the flyers and I prefer Sobey's (from Nova Scotia) to Loblaws. You can get deals.
