1. give us peterson dammit! 2. if doobie was in net, it wouldnt have been so difficult 3. gallaraga (et al.) gotta finish those 0.25- 0.5 CHances if we are anything worth our shadow
I thought Hutson might run out of gas by the midway point of the season but he is showing no sign of slowing down. He only seems to be getting better every game with MSL giving him even more minutes. It's incredible how good this kid is. Even the sfu over at tsn have noticed.
Hutson took a hard lick behind his own net last night from Miller but it didn't seem to phase him. He saw it coming and was ready to receive it properly. He then proceeded to dismantle the Canuckles and should have had at least two more assists if Dach and Gally had converted their Grade A chances. As you say, he's not physically big but has elite vision, great passing and excellent skating. He is always aware of who is on the ice as well.
Well Wayne, you've certainly tarnished your legacy aligning yourself with that orange pos south of the border. You are no longer the 'Great One', just another fucking boot licking lackey. All your records should be struck from the books.
Ya you know just cause he was good at hockey doesn't mean he's intelligent. Listening or trying to listen to Tom The Dick Brady try and say something of interest during his Fball telecast reveals that he knew how to throw a football but that's about it. Same with gretzky could play hockey but that's about it Sadly many sports icons have giant followings but most of them are a few dilithium crystals short of a warp core. Go Habs
Last week we had that perfect result where all teams around the Habs lost. Last night the BJs beat the Pens in OT. The worst possible scenario.
Point being, Habs need to stay hot and at a minimum keep on that 7-4 record every 11 games. If you follow Brian Wilde, he's been preaching this for the past few weeks and it's a decent way to break down the remaining games. They are 4-1 in the current 11 game segment. So .500 over the next 6. Keep playing they way they have been and they can find that here: Caps Stars UHC Stars Leafs Rags
St.P: go 7-4 rest of way?! omg. no freaking way! winning at that rate is something only 8 teams are doing right now: vegas, wsh, wpg, min, lak, tml, edm, dal. before the loser points were started, teams who went .625 were widely considered to have had a spectacular season!
i think something more reasonable (and comepltely doobable), is maybe go 3-2-1 = 7/12 = .583
right now they are at 19-18-3 = 41 with the above math, if they can go 24-16-2, final result would be 43-34-5 = 91
ide be satisfied to let the chip fall where they be at 91, regardless of jim mora's expectations.
Brian Wilde is a spin doctor and eternal optimist.
Friend oleg's suggestion is entirely plausible, I think the most realistic scenario is what they currently are ... barely above .500. As long as there are no 8 game losing streaks they should stay 'in da mix'.
For a first. Savage Savard, Maths, the first Joel, 7EVENS, Devo in our dreams, Powerhorse. Do you pull the trigger on a six gun with four bullets. This is the kind of decision that made DGMB cry. You gotta do it. We aint winning the cup, any of these guys could get injured. I am not saying all four, but if you can get a first for all four, trade away. Cold blooded Hugo.
HuGo ain't trading anyone as long as they are in striking distance of WC2. It's more likely he will add depth if anything. He said today they don't need no more stinkin' picks. And if he does get picks they will be for 2028 or later.
I think it was no fluke we smoked the last four cup winners It was no fluke because it’s plain to see the balance Rolling four all night with a mix of vets and kids big and small I think that any move Hugo would make would be a specific move for a specific roster spot looking to improve a player in a location I think we are at the tweaking stage We saw what a difference adding one forward and one D both with experience Both in the right age bracket It’s time to get very fussy and picky The major work has been done the cupboard is full the pipeline is promising and CHester is content to watch it unfold Something of note was watching goules smoke that canucle into next week thing of beauty Go Habs
I can't remember who said it, maybe Wilde, but those 4 games the Habs Top 6 matched and neutralized the opposition's Top 6, but those big boy teams bottom 6 had no answer for Montreal's plus the Canadiens goalies were better.
One thing I've wanted to mention is I've noticed Marty is managing his bench different late in the games, benching certain players and double shifting others trying to get or protect the lead. He's getting better as well.
The whole thing is trending the right way We haven't had a lot to cheer about for some time now and I don't want to get ahead of myself but I would dearly love to see The Glorious Habs put a beating on the leaf what is it next Saturday? I just don't get as excited sending the canuckles back to the coast as I would spanking underpants and his core fore and shutting up the SFU and send them back to cotu with a couple of oles and a salut le visit chokers. Course that's just me being me Go Habs
speak for yourself. beating these irritating canuck fans is very worth it. you guys just dont appreciate it cause you dont see, smell what i do over here.
Caps are ripe for the picking. Could get the W tomorrow night. Dallas is good but their 7-2-1 in the last 10 is not quite as good as the Habs' 8-2. Keep on rolling.
I have to decide on my curling league trivia or Habs v Compost Heap on the 18th. I have a feeling it could be a good night, one not to miss. I'll have to see...
Two tough games, one win would be nice although a loser point wouldn't be unexpected.
Regarding the rotten leaves, meh, the leaf blowing will be near intolerable during Hockey Day in the CotU. Maybe record it and watch the next day if the Habs win. Fuck mclame.
I’d go compost The Big Fin should be back by then I am also curious about the flu 3/4 days and you’re fixed usually maybe 7 He didn’t play in Florida don’t think so we’re coming up on week three Hmmm strokes chin Hope the head is okay Go Habs
I love wool, the whole wool story, but I get a wiff of the TFS has scurvy history. A hangover has flu like simptions. A ten day hangover, yeah I have had them. You drink a little less every day, until you can handle the day you stop drinking.
I added a musical theme for the next few games. I had some options for game 42. I was going to go with Blowin' in the Wind. But I went with this one. It may not be the style of music you prefer, but if you actually listen and follow along with the lyrics and imagine it's the Habs telling that story metaphorically, it fits pretty well. For example: Locked eyes at the red light It's a long drive But we can always change the route if we decide Hold tight, we can take time It's a fine night From what I'm searching for and what I find
Over the last few seasons we fans have gotten used to trading players whose contracts were running out for draft picks because -- rebuild. That dynamic has changed significantly. The four players currently in the rumour mill -- because the media needs something to write about, I don't believe are going anywhere. Jake Evans, a homegrown player will get extended. The other 3, Armia, Savard and even DVo are likely to be kept as well unless the wheels fall off from now until March 6th. They are all more valuable to the Habs now than some later round pick 3 years from now. I also think, again, unless the Habs crash, that Kent Hughes will use some of his picks to ADD at the deadline. It's gonna be a fun ride. As bargainbinbergy liked to say : "Expect the unexpected."
Best part is none of the moron sfu insiders will see it coming.
The closer we get to the TDL the more the action heats up GM's start playing cards they had held close to the vest You see the buyers vs sellers which players are being made available and you can smell the desperation from some teams needing a measure of success Perfect situation for Hugo who will be like a lion waiting in the tall grass surveying the gazelles deciding which one will be lunch No pressure on us, being in the mix is a victory we don't need another third rounder for Army Someday the pressure will come but that's not today Go Habs
Something is definitely up with the big fin This is too long for flu like symptoms I think Steve has it closer than the flu Either that or that nova thing is out there or covid but not the flu Dunno if he's a drinker or a party boy but it's time for management to fess up 8.7 large to stay at home? What a country... Go Habs
I have to believe the Habs would have done their due diligence regarding Wool before they ever traded for him. Whatever is wrong I highly doubt he's on the sauce.
"Luc Gelinas on RDS reports that David Savard & Patrik Laine both skated again today in Brossard and that they may possibly both return for the Habs tomorrow night at home vs the Dallas Stars."
Hey, Caps have just 10 shots in rwo periods on home ice. And this despite three power plays! Team D has gone from disastrous to exemplary in just two months. Hang in there boys!
I'm late to the party but another great win over a (supposed) powerhouse team. Outshooting the home team 2 to 1. This can't be coincidence there's something afoot. Gotta be some fairy dust involved here.
So we’ve beaten just about everyone now so what’s next Hopefully the wheels don’t fall off this train before we slap the leaf around Best thing about tonight other than the 14 sog is that the putin ass kissing commie overchicken didn’t score Nynet nynet soviet Go Habs
terrible giveaway by 7evans for that opening goal GI Joel... 'sigh'... ANOTHER screwed up breakaway... a SH one at that! kirby... waaaaay too lax fighting in front of the net. HE HAD POSITION! theres no way that defender is supposed to be able to sheppard that puck to safety like that. powerhorse... well done son. getting rewarded with SH ice-time... cashing in game breakers finishing that SH breakaway. wifi... waaaay too soft getting beat by a kid's move behind his own net. if he simply ran him over like he is naturally good at, that goal doesnt happen
quiet game by lane. MM also quiet for awhile now. thats a good sign as it means no boneheaded passes lately. keeping it simple magic mike! thnx!
terrible game from doobie. time to send him back down for cayden. hes ready! hahahhahhahaha..... jk jkjkjkjjkjkjkjk
So there is a disturbance in The Force There is dismay hand wringing and controversy in beantown the large flightless birds are fading and The Glorious Habs are firing on all cylinders Underpants has gone to Germany for some reason CHester speculates that he is getting a sex change little mitchie is being handed his hat change is in the wind for the leaf where is Nostradamus when you need him I should probably get some sleep Go Habs
Missed another Friday nighter. Great win by the boys. Doobie got beat on his glove and let in 2 in the same game...looked solid though. Pez only got like 3 minutes of ice...he's gotta have done something to piss MSL off. What's that...? Couple shifts a period maybe? -1 on the night so probably didn't see the ice in the 3rd.
Pez took a bad penalty on his first shift early in the game. The Caps' second goal was the first (and remains the only) 5-on-5 goal Doobie had given up in 166 min. of NHL action, RDS showed. I don't think he gives up rebounds pretty much ever, hence the lower shot totals. This man is a revelation.
Now here is the deal. We get at least a second for Savard or Devo or no moves. Play it out, let them walk at the end of the year. I no I should not say it, but Cpt Hook shoots like a girl, otherwise he would already be at 20 goals,
Finally got to see the highlights and game winner. It's a perfect example of how +/- is not a great stat. Lane blocks the pass, Whiskey to Nature, game over! But Lane dragged his ass to the bench and M&M was on the ice when the puck went in. So Fast Lane gets the assist but MM gets the +.
Pez and Strobe's lack of playing time is very clear. Are they not playing because they're bad or are they bad because they're not playing?
It feels like the team can keep up this pace. But they will need reliable depth players if making a run at the playoffs. Of course they are winning despite having these guys in the lineup. So maybe don't mess around.
I think it's 16 games until the SMITTASG Cup. We should have a great idea at that time which way HuGo will be leaning.
Coach Marty has reached a point in his teaching that -- if you fuck up or take bad penalties you will sit out. It's all about accountability now. Pez and Strobe are in a bad spot, they don't play enough to get sharp (although I thought Strobe was really good in Vegas after a rusty game in Chicago) and if they screw up they sit. I think it's standard procedure in NHL coaching circles. Hopefully Wool and Savvy are back tonight.
Marty is morphing from the teacher to the coach Like you said before he is shortening his bench in the 3rd to protect a lead and now he is holding people accountable instead of being buddy marty and having a chat. Only concern I have is that this appears to be deviating from a successful method The old if it ain't broke don't fix it I hate for him to go all tortorella just for a W Negative reinforcement doesn't work that was what was so refreshing about his coaching style he was all positive Wonder if he's getting some pressure from above Go Habs
Re: pressure from above -- sure, they want some wins, be in da mix, see some progress therefore Marty is trying to win more and I don't blame him. Like Kent said on Wednesday they want to start building a winning culture, no time like the present. The players probably feel the same way.
I wonder if the sfu would care as much about Bedard if he had been drafted by Montreal? Probably not. More likely they would be trying to figure out how their leaf could trade for him.
Partly cuz his style or method of tending goal lends itself to generating more tense moments and second chances. Doobie's method, or abilities to handle the initial shot better, makes him a better goalie for the team to regain control of the puck.
When one thinks of the uneducated lame brained in the US following and supporting the worst of the worst (including sycophant media) it is of no surprise that up here the sfu and hnit have a following of dedicated blue and white sheep.
I stream all the games at Onhickey.tv with a VPN and it works well. The Habs fees is usually pretty good midweek but in weekends I always end up on HNIC with the sound down.
You know we’re climbing in the standings We’ve had so many years of tanking and being at the bottom that we are collectively holding our breath and wondering if this’ll continue or if it’s just some kind of cruel anomaly Time will tell I guess The trick I guess is consistency Day in day out Just reading about the laughable leaves How they right off their blowout by the canuckles as them being so comfortable at the top of the division guaranteed a playoff spot that they are just happily cruising along course getting shut out and booed out of your own barn is just part of being so incredibly wonderful Holy fuck the delusion runs deep in cotu Get shut out and booed and well who cares cause we’re awesome Eeesh Go Habs
I kind of feel the same way, every game I keep waiting for the wheels to fall off the Habs buggy or a tire to blow out at least. So far so good though.
I saw that headline about the compost pile being so comfortable in their own magnificence, must be nice. An 8 game losing streak would be extremely fun to see with the Habs motoring past them in the standings.
The Dallas Stars social media team deserve a shout out for their post last night showing the team heading to the ice with the caption "Welcome to the Mecca of Hockey." Thank you. Much better than the classless trolls in Carolina.
Speaking of classless, leafools will try to tell you that tranna is the mecca of hockey. Nothing could be further from the truth and the records show it. That was something Blowhard Burkie tried to promote .... even when the 18 wheeler went over the cliff.
I'm watching the Eagles/Packers game and I have to agree with CHester, Tom Brady doesn't add much to the game calling. Romo is far better. Actually, I find players who played defence to be far better at game analysis.
He IS a Trumpet, so the low IQ makes sense. Always felt a little dirty cheering for him but ya gotta do what ya gotta do when a guy delivers 6 championships.
Ack Brady doing Super Bowl I googled it and it’ll be Jim nantz and tony romo thank goodness Well my bills are in tough against Lamar Didn’t go so well the last time Can’t remember a period in the nfl when there were so many strong teams Previously there was usually a strong team dominating Now there are quite a few well balanced well organized teams and so many young skilled qbs coming up Go Habs
Stars did the Habs no favours today. Lost to the Sens who leapfrogged the Habs by a point. It's going to be a long, tough road to he playoffs considering the 15th place Flyers are only 5 points from the 2nd wildcard spot.
There's really no point in looking at the standings, all they can do is win as many games as possible and control their own fate. All of these teams are going to yo-yo up and down on a nightly basis. I figure it will come down to regulation wins to break any ties at the end.
Well when I checked the league this morning Habs were 18th a far cry from 30th and in and out of a wild card spot So big improvement And for me it’s Al Michaels.He is just the sound of the NFL and that herb guy provides knowledgeable analysis it’s a good combination A part of me wants the lions to take it all They’ve been down for so long I like an underdog Such good football Go Habs
I'd be happy to see the Lions win. They are one of a handful of the 4 major North American sports teams with a longer championship drought than the leafs. Puts them closer to #1 overall loser (currently held by the Arizona Cardinals).
This thread is just about done so a big shout out to Canadian golfer Nick Taylor who is clutch in playoffs, winning the Sony Open yesterday. That's 3 years in a row that he has pulled out a win in a playoff. Great stuff.
I would be OK with the Lions winning the Super Bowl as well, I remember when they were the league's doormat for years. It was a bold move trading Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff but it seems to ahve paid off for both teams. Stafford has his ring maybe Goff will get his this year. They should be the favourites to come out of the NFC.
Lane officially leads rookie scoring.
ReplyDeleteI guarantee that the sfu will do everything to make sure he doesn’t get the necessary Calder votes.

I love the sibling rivalry. Cole gets the spotlight? Not for long, says Lane.

And I stayed up to the end. These guys have found another gear. Fun to watch this team again.

Gotta be some fairy dust involved here.
Tonight's effort makes Monty a top-tier backup goalie. Tell me I'm wrong. GYFHG!
ReplyDeletenot wrong. its where his potential is regardless. sorry guys, but thats what i see over here.
DeleteLes Canadiens sont encore là
ReplyDeleteSo we’ve beaten just about everyone now so what’s next
ReplyDeleteHopefully the wheels don’t fall off this train before we slap the leaf around
Best thing about tonight other than the 14 sog is that the putin ass kissing commie overchicken didn’t score
Nynet nynet soviet
Go Habs
just watched the highlites...
ReplyDeleteterrible giveaway by 7evans for that opening goal
GI Joel...
So there is a disturbance in The Force
ReplyDeleteThere is dismay hand wringing and controversy in beantown the large flightless birds are fading and The Glorious Habs are firing on all cylinders
Underpants has gone to Germany for some reason CHester speculates that he is getting a sex change little mitchie is being handed his hat change is in the wind for the leaf where is Nostradamus when you need him
I should probably get some sleep
Go Habs
Missed another Friday nighter. Great win by the boys. Doobie got beat on his glove and let in 2 in the same game...looked solid though. Pez only got like 3 minutes of ice...he's gotta have done something to piss MSL off. What's that...? Couple shifts a period maybe? -1 on the night so probably didn't see the ice in the 3rd.
ReplyDeletePez took a bad penalty on his first shift early in the game. The Caps' second goal was the first (and remains the only) 5-on-5 goal Doobie had given up in 166 min. of NHL action, RDS showed. I don't think he gives up rebounds pretty much ever, hence the lower shot totals. This man is a revelation.
DeleteNow here is the deal. We get at least a second for Savard or Devo or no moves. Play it out, let them walk at the end of the year. I no I should not say it, but Cpt Hook shoots like a girl, otherwise he would already be at 20 goals,
ReplyDeleteFinally got to see the highlights and game winner. It's a perfect example of how +/- is not a great stat. Lane blocks the pass, Whiskey to Nature, game over! But Lane dragged his ass to the bench and M&M was on the ice when the puck went in. So Fast Lane gets the assist but MM gets the +.
ReplyDeletePez and Strobe's lack of playing time is very clear. Are they not playing because they're bad or are they bad because they're not playing?
ReplyDeleteIt feels like the team can keep up this pace.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I think if Montreal had a big enough lead in a game he might give them some minutes.
DeleteMarty is morphing from the teacher to the coach
DeleteLike you said before he is shortening his bench in the 3rd to protect a lead and now he is holding people accountable instead of being buddy marty and having a chat.
Only concern I have is that this appears to be deviating from a successful method
The old if it ain't broke don't fix it
I hate for him to go all tortorella just for a W
Negative reinforcement doesn't work that was what was so refreshing about his coaching style he was all positive
Wonder if he's getting some pressure from above
Go Habs
Re: pressure from above -- sure, they want some wins, be in da mix, see some progress therefore Marty is trying to win more and I don't blame him. Like Kent said on Wednesday they want to start building a winning culture, no time like the present. The players probably feel the same way.
DeleteYeah its Steve nonsense yeah lets use that
ReplyDeleteyeah notice I do not control the world. In long story short, if I did it would be better than Turnip
ReplyDeleteHopefully the Stars were in town enjoying the nightlife last night, to even out the playing field.
ReplyDeleteLFG! JFW!
We can only hope.
DeleteWool likely playing.
ReplyDeleteFack the typical scuum that suggested the worse about his condition.
~~~
11 minutes in and no mention of the red hot giant-killing Habs by the panel.
ReplyDeleteJust happened and you could feel them holding back their own puke.
Delete~~~
Habs talk the gambling edition.
DeleteHaven't watched the sfu scum for many, many months because they are moronic Hab haters.
ReplyDeleteWill catch glimpses as the Habs are improving.
sfu will pat themselves on the back.
~~~
Heh, they put hahahrudey and fried-man on to justify their existence.
ReplyDelete~~~
I wonder if the sfu would care as much about Bedard if he had been drafted by Montreal? Probably not. More likely they would be trying to figure out how their leaf could trade for him.
ReplyDeleteWhat the F! is a homegrown sportsbook ?
ReplyDeleteslotmachinemclame is pure scuum.
~~~
That's what they cal it when your uncle is a bookie and he charges you vig at only 25 points
DeleteThank goodness for small mercies no gary facking gawley tonight.
ReplyDeleteOk boys...you know the drill...just fucking win!
ReplyDeleteSof ...kill it!
ReplyDeleteFuck these refs
ReplyDeleteRefs WTF ???
ReplyDeleteWow...what a stop by Monty...
ReplyDeleteAll that talent around you, but sure M&M, you're the best option so keep shooting blocked shots...
ReplyDeleteGreat period by Monty. Faced as many shots this period as Doobie did all last night.
ReplyDeletePartly cuz his style or method of tending goal lends itself to generating more tense moments and second chances. Doobie's method, or abilities to handle the initial shot better, makes him a better goalie for the team to regain control of the puck.
DeleteMBo likes a lot of shots.
Delete~~~
A nice quick period...not bad...too much delaying and fucking around in our own end but overall not too bad
ReplyDeleteSound off on the intermission circle jerk
ReplyDeleteMostly leaf and canuckles, a little Jets, even less Oil and a minute on Fast Lane. Typical sfu crap.
DeleteWhen one thinks of the uneducated lame brained in the US following and supporting the worst of the worst (including sycophant media) it is of no surprise that up here the sfu and hnit have a following of dedicated blue and white sheep.
ReplyDelete~~~
Do I smell a potential Masters thesis brewing?
DeleteI might need a thesis director. 😉
Delete~~~
Also, too... I am at a PhD level now.
DeleteHats off!
DeleteI stream all the games at Onhickey.tv with a VPN and it works well. The Habs fees is usually pretty good midweek but in weekends I always end up on HNIC with the sound down.
ReplyDeleteGood game...
ReplyDeleteYep. Need to finish some of those plays. Could be up by a goal or 2.
Delete~~~
Might be watching the Steelers simultaneously.
ReplyDelete~~~
For a while at least.
DeleteI think they should've started Fields.
I like Steel Wool's play.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Slaf could take note.
Strong game by Monty tonight --- a subtle message to Doobie --- you ain't stealin' my job yet bud.
ReplyDeleteWool not afraid to hammer a few people...needs to regain his "touch" however...Habs should have had a couple by now
ReplyDeleteHits are 22 to 2 i favour of Habs... yeah when you can't win a face-off and you're always chasing the puck. Now GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteCash it boys!
ReplyDeleteWooooool !
ReplyDeleteWOOL!
ReplyDeleteSteel Wool!
ReplyDelete9of9.
ReplyDeleteWool!!
ReplyDeletePFL!
ReplyDelete(My) Steelers are playing to their potential. Very good season but the D has slipped a lot in the past few games.
ReplyDelete~~~
Also, Lamar Jackson ...
DeleteKeeping it close so far.
Deletetva is pure linguistic xenophobia
ReplyDelete~~~
Good damn game.
ReplyDeleteBluesky server issues
ReplyDeleteyep.
DeleteVanUcks playing well tonight.
ReplyDeleteNot looking good for the Steelers. 21-0 at the half...
ReplyDeleteLamar...
DeleteHeh heh leaf being booed... love it.
ReplyDeleteWell done Vancouverites ... F U SFU
ReplyDeleteBlues phhht, but 'Nucks, nice!
ReplyDeleteBluesky phhht, but 'Nucks, nice!
ReplyDeleteHeh!
DeleteOn to OT
ReplyDeleteAnother point secured at least.
ReplyDeleteOn to the Shoot Out
ReplyDeleteWhatever the outcome, we have a goalie competition for Top Dog and that's good
DeleteTake the point, 3of4 in 2 games.
ReplyDeleteFuck
ReplyDeleteGood game, still climbing the ladder...
ReplyDelete3 meh attempts by our guys. What's with the extra wide route?
ReplyDeleteAnyway good job getting the point on a b2b. 3 outta 4 ain't bad.
Fields in ...
ReplyDeleteWhat if the 3rd point was only awarded if it went to a shootout? I think we're there.
ReplyDeleteSkies are blue again.
ReplyDeleteGood season Steelers, some moments.
ReplyDeleteGo Bills.
Wool it was just the flu.
ReplyDeleteYou know we’re climbing in the standings
ReplyDeleteWe’ve had so many years of tanking and being at the bottom that we are collectively holding our breath and wondering if this’ll continue or if it’s just some kind of cruel anomaly
Time will tell I guess
The trick I guess is consistency
Day in day out
Just reading about the laughable leaves
How they right off their blowout by the canuckles as them being so comfortable at the top of the division guaranteed a playoff spot that they are just happily cruising along course getting shut out and booed out of your own barn is just part of being so incredibly wonderful
Holy fuck the delusion runs deep in cotu
Get shut out and booed and well who cares cause we’re awesome
Eeesh
Go Habs
I kind of feel the same way, every game I keep waiting for the wheels to fall off the Habs buggy or a tire to blow out at least. So far so good though.
ReplyDeleteI saw that headline about the compost pile being so comfortable in their own magnificence, must be nice. An 8 game losing streak would be extremely fun to see with the Habs motoring past them in the standings.
A guy can hope can't he?
That might be a tall order, but consecutive Saturday night losses to Canadian teams will be a good start.
DeleteWell as I expected, my Pats got their man. Vrabel will be a vast improvement. I was hoping Mayo would work out but that's sports business for you.
ReplyDeleteBills are in tough against that Broncos' D.
ReplyDeleteNope.
DeleteThe Dallas Stars social media team deserve a shout out for their post last night showing the team heading to the ice with the caption "Welcome to the Mecca of Hockey." Thank you. Much better than the classless trolls in Carolina.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of classless, leafools will try to tell you that tranna is the mecca of hockey. Nothing could be further from the truth and the records show it. That was something Blowhard Burkie tried to promote .... even when the 18 wheeler went over the cliff.
Montreal was Toronto before the seperatits forced all the anglos out. I cant say it was a bad move. Fuck the Deep State, which is 100% English.
DeleteAs stated by the greatest NHL coach;
Must read !
Wwe took twwo rejects from the open Overton Window. They are Fast Lane Rocks and Whiskey.
ReplyDeleteThe overton window is not something you should look through.
I'm watching the Eagles/Packers game and I have to agree with CHester, Tom Brady doesn't add much to the game calling. Romo is far better. Actually, I find players who played defence to be far better at game analysis.
ReplyDeleteBrady is very low IQ, a craigsimpleton if you will.
Delete~~~
He IS a Trumpet, so the low IQ makes sense. Always felt a little dirty cheering for him but ya gotta do what ya gotta do when a guy delivers 6 championships.
DeleteBig Bills win.
ReplyDeleteOffense helps defence.
~~~
They wore the Broncos down.
DeleteSuccessful Habs always brings out the worst in the sfu.
ReplyDeleteHope they bitCH slap their leaf next saturday.
~~~
It was 3-1.
Deletetom brady doing the Super Bowl = puke.
ReplyDelete~~~
Ack
ReplyDeleteBrady doing Super Bowl
I googled it and it’ll be Jim nantz and tony romo thank goodness
Well my bills are in tough against Lamar
Didn’t go so well the last time
Can’t remember a period in the nfl when there were so many strong teams
Previously there was usually a strong team dominating
Now there are quite a few well balanced well organized teams and so many young skilled qbs coming up
Go Habs
I don't like the Fox broadcasts, I prefer CBS.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know moe REALLY likes the NBC games with his buddy Collinsworth... I kid!!!
I like the Al Michaels Prime broadcasts. I think Kirk Herbstreit is the best colour guy in the biz.
DeleteThursday night game?
DeleteYep. And they did the Steelers game last night.
DeleteJosh Allan v Lamar. Should be an epic battle.
ReplyDeleteStars did the Habs no favours today. Lost to the Sens who leapfrogged the Habs by a point. It's going to be a long, tough road to he playoffs considering the 15th place Flyers are only 5 points from the 2nd wildcard spot.
ReplyDeleteThere's really no point in looking at the standings, all they can do is win as many games as possible and control their own fate. All of these teams are going to yo-yo up and down on a nightly basis. I figure it will come down to regulation wins to break any ties at the end.
DeleteWell when I checked the league this morning Habs were 18th a far cry from 30th and in and out of a wild card spot
ReplyDeleteSo big improvement
And for me it’s Al Michaels.He is just the sound of the NFL and that herb guy provides knowledgeable analysis it’s a good combination
A part of me wants the lions to take it all
They’ve been down for so long I like an underdog
Such good football
Go Habs
I'd be happy to see the Lions win. They are one of a handful of the 4 major North American sports teams with a longer championship drought than the leafs. Puts them closer to #1 overall loser (currently held by the Arizona Cardinals).
DeleteThis thread is just about done so a big shout out to Canadian golfer Nick Taylor who is clutch in playoffs, winning the Sony Open yesterday. That's 3 years in a row that he has pulled out a win in a playoff. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteI would be OK with the Lions winning the Super Bowl as well, I remember when they were the league's doormat for years. It was a bold move trading Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff but it seems to ahve paid off for both teams. Stafford has his ring maybe Goff will get his this year. They should be the favourites to come out of the NFC.
