UK3X9:05 AM Not getting too excited over any of these games right now. Trying to keep my BP in check. Also still can't believe what I witnessed in Washington yesterday. Z has one option remaining - he's gotta have Putin whacked.
CHester10:48 AM Saw a CNN interview with Rice an Obama woman and she said the white house thing was a setup. Z was set up to put on a show for putin. So the orange rapist and his puppy could make Z look weak and bad. So Z just fucking left. Americant is putins puppy now. It's so clear. So the west solders on without the fucking americants all the leaders are on record saying so and good on them The world now has two clear bad guys. That chinese guy doesn't look so bad now does he?
the Maritimer11:23 AM Without a doubt that was a setup. FHFriends, that was a shakedown, american gangsterism at it's finest. The orange felon has proven beyond a shadow of doubt he is a fucking crook, he and his boot licking sycophants. They are only interested in one thing, accumulating as much wealth as possible in as short a time as possible. The western world needs to turn it's collective back on this administration until such time as the Democrats, the judiciary, maybe the military and any Republican with intestinal fortitude say enough is enough, time for you assholes to go. They are an embarrassment on the world stage. And as SiM said : dangerous.
I dont want to debbie dower and it make no diff so let talk hockey. We are going to make the playoffs, we know now that reclamation projects in the HNHL are historical. They never fucking work out so stop with the unicorn eyes trading for these players who will never live up to their potenetial or maybe never be NHL players under any conditionl
A couple of trades today ... only picks for 2026 being given up so I don't think HuGo will get his price for any of his UFAs. My guess is they all stay for now unless something changes. Can I quote bargainbinbergy : expect the unexpected...
Question for curler Saint Paddy, I've noticed that during the Tournament of Hearts and now the Brier, some of the provinces have more than one team. What's up with that?
A few years ago curling Canada decided there were too many quality teams not getting to the Championships year after year so they increased the number of entrants to 16 (now 18 I think). The extra teams get in based on a point system during the season.
Lots of red sweaters in that building. I think there are many, many Habs fans in southern Ontario. More than the SFU or leafool media would ever admit.
I grew up in Galt, now Cambridge Ontario, we had Buffalo news/sports channels. They hate(d) the leaf. The French Connection likely fed a bit of French love.
I've been watching my figure but just finished a bowl of Chapman's (a great Canadian company) French Vanilla ice cream topped with maple syrup. Delicious.
Well they really need a bonafide #2C so why not? IF he was willing (unlikely), I have zero idea what the cost would be...but it could include Dach if you're allowed to trade injured players.
I need to stop torturing myself thinking if they had just played .500 hockey during that 1-7-1 stretch, they'd be in the first wildcard spot only 5 back of aTB instead (or just 1 pt if one of those wins were vs TB...). Sigh.
Shows chemistry Shows how Heineken is an important cog that makes things run smooth Also shows how dach isn’t missed Big thing also is how our D is holding together with Goules out and maths continuing to fuck up If we can maintain the energy level and stay focused we can cobble together another streak Trade Sevens and that’s throwing in the towel So we’ll see if Hugo really wants to be in the mix Keep sevens and go for it or trade him give up CHester is happy not to make that decision Go you mofo Habs
Kent Hughes has built a relationship with his players, especially his veterans. He will not trade any of his vets for draft picks, there is no need. Despite what the moronic 'insiders' say, like Lebrun "Jake Evans is as good as gone" I call bullshit. Now, if Hughes can trade some prospects and/or picks for some help at C or Def help in their mid to late 20s I could believe that.
I am over over valuing our assets and going the same way on the deficits. We make the playoffs this year and in two years the FUCKING CUP. Then we dont win again for 30 years
With the race so tight for playoff spots, the SFU might finally get their wish for a deadline deal day frenzy or whatever they call it. I can see teams waiting to see where they stand before making moves. HuGo specifically will wait, and if their socks aren't knocked off, then the guy on the other end of the line can take a long walk off a short pier.
The next few days will certainly be interesting, with Florida getting Seth Jones the arms race will be on. All the contenders and pretenders (leaf) will be trying to out-manoeuvre the other. Meanwhile, Hughes will just be looking at his phone and deciding if he should pick up.
TSN has a segment called 1V1. Whiskey's beauty of an OT winner is the reigning champ. They've now got one of their leaf up against him. It's no contest...but if you have a moment to give CC a few votes, head on over. It's simple as clicking on the VOTE button. It's on the main page. No details required.
Can't see Wayne coming to Canada anytime soon, especially if the trade war starts tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if mclame and his clown panel dare to wade into the political uproar, so far it's been radio silence.
The ‘elbows up’ comment/descriptor is attached to the great Gordie Howe, whose favourite player was Rocket Richard. Will be fun to see sick fucks like mclame make use of it. It is 💯 % not gretzky and even more against the 🍊 💩. You just know mclame is a MAGA. ~~~
If Buffalo decide on a fire sale and feel like parting with Tage Thompson and his $7.1M cap hit for the next five years, I can think of a certain bleu-blanc-rouge sweater he would look good in.
I don't think there will be any fire sale, Sabres are the youngest team in the league, just below Montreal. They will reset over the summer and carry on. I might let Lindy go if anything.
I remember thinking after the break if the Habs truly want to get back in the race they would need at least a 5 game winning streak. And here they are.
So we are one point up on the hated beaners with a game in hand Just that is a cause for celebration never mind knocking on the wild card door Wouldn’t it be special if we squeaked in and matched up with the smouldering pile of compost? Have another chance to send them where they belong? Ooooo be still my beating heart Go Habs
Nice job Hugo! A 7everns is just as important a cog in the wheel as a half-a-dov or an Ax man I’m glad management sees that So we are not selling, nice! Go Hugo Go Habs
I don't see Hughes trading away any of his current players but I could see him acquiring some 'dep' (thanks eMTy) to help in the wild card hunt. A 2C on an expiring contract and another D.
I see Savvy leaving town sadly All the kids appreciate a grandpa but his time is up If we could get a nice hydrangea or maybe something to decorate the hallway for Devo that would be a win I personally would think twice about Army He has settled into his role nicely and he owes us a team friendly contract And that’s it for the selling Now Like The M says above we need a 2C and a Savvy replacement and of course anything else that fits the plan going forward And yes fat brown pierre you are not much of an insider You’re a SFU toronto sports network shill And now everyone knows HA! Go Canada Go Habs
This is excellent news on 7evans! It's almost like if you treat players with respect they will repay it to you. A great team friendly deal for sure, I have no doubt some team would have given him 3.5 or more per in UFA.
Like Chester, I could see them dumping Devo if anybody wanted to part ways with their favourite coffee mug for him. Get a 2nd line C and drop Beck to the 3rd line. Then again a guy that can at least win faceoffs in the playoffs is valuable so hang onto him and let him walk after the season? Same with Savvy, he has playoff value as an own rental, but I also agree shoring up the D isn't a terrible plan.
And like Moe said, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"
That's a dumb comment steve. Suzuki is tied with Crosby for 18th in league scoring. He's the 8th top scoring C. 6th if talking true centres. Caufield just scored his 30th. Slaf may be still a work in progress...but to claim this is not a bonafide top line is false.
One thing I'll say about Hughes is expect the unexpected. It's no secret they need a #2C but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a player nobody here nor any of the so called 'experts' have mentioned in their trade ramblings.
I'm trying to channel my inner HuGo and think outside the box for that 2nd line C we need. Lots of talk about Yanni Gourde in Seattle because he's a UFA but what if HuGo snagged...Shane Wright! That won't happen but I wouldn't be mad at a 28 y/o Jared McCann from Seattle with 2 years left at $5M per.
My other idea I wouldn't be mad about...he's 32...he's signed at $6M per for 3 more years so it's a bit high and a year too long, but bring back the first guy HuGo traded. Bring back Teapot Toffoli. Bring back Toffee!
Those are my targets that none of the 'experts' are talking about.
I wouldn't give up on Dylan just yet I mean Barfalo is out and in their perpetual rebuild they dump players who underperform. They are a very twitchy organization. The number of players they dumped who flourished elsewhere is long and star studded. I'm sure Hugo could get them to bite on some picks and a throw in from somewhere .... maybe a three way. Hugo is very creative. Anyway keeping 7Evens was a fine decision and calms the waters. So we wait. The oil are slumping lets make it 6! Go Canada Go Habs
I just haven't seen anything from Cozens that gets me excited. He had a good draft year in the WHL. He had a good 30 goal season the year he signed his current contract. The book on Hage is very positive but he's like 18 and years away. Maybe Dylan isn't the guy but going forward we need somebody who doesn't get an operation every 15 games. At least TJ Hooker is showing signs of life but he's not the answer either. I'm not as informed as to the C market out there but our 2C has been a black hole for some time now so I thing it's time to focus on that full time. Go Canada Go Habs
