  1. Nice update.
The old 4 Habs fans site was always big on strippers.
Been pretty quiet on NHL stuff lately.
Nature's wedding seems to be the biggest Habs event since Dodson/Bolduc.
I've been reading that Wool is training hard already, I predict a big season scoring-wise for him if he stays healthy and motivated.

    GYFHG!!!

  2. Four fans for Habs fans ...to blow away that prairie forest fire smoke. It's been a hacking & coughing kind of summer.

Never saw Happy Gilmore but knew well of the Bob Barker and Joe Flaherty cameos. The long-awaited sequel has a few laughs but seems more like a vehicle for the three Sandler daughters to stretch their acting legs.

Riff Raff with Bill Murray, and Ed Harris revisiting his role from A History of Violence was pretty good though, for the acting mostly.

  4. Loni was right up there with Farrah, Raquel, 99, MTM and Samantha.

So a Zoo in Denmark is asking people to donate their pets to feed the animals. Would they except a DaCH?
I repeat, five months after his most recent knee surgery and around 40 days before training camp begins, Kirby Dach is still not recovered and ready to play."

    1. Hell of a match. Man, she never gives up. We've had some young tennis stars with promise that fizzle out for one reason or another - or at least never get to and stay at the elite of the elite of the sport.
She might just be the one that keeps rising.

She may be the real deal. French is her first language and she speaks Ontario perfectly.

  7. Meanwhile in Nova Scotia...a snip of an Anne Murray parody for you (I don't think it was her original song however). https://youtu.be/uxFIGWm9M6w?si=3sxJkmmUYbtkr3ac

If you go down in the woods today
You better be prepared to pay
If you go down in the woods today
You'll fork out Twenty Five K
For the risk of fire is just too great
Don't even walk on the path to the lake!
Today's the day Tim Huston will take your money!

That said, I don't disagree totally. I understand some governments tend to govern to the lowest common denominator (or basically paint the entire populace with the same brush as the dumbest person in the province). So instead of trying to make a bunch of rules that people are too dumb to abide by (no smoking, no ATVs, no fires, etc), we have the blanket ban of do not enter any wooded area. Period. And I get it. Look at the country. If you haven't looked at one, the Weather Network has a forest fire map. It's fucking bad. I heard a guy on the radio talking about how even somebody drinking from a water bottle throws some water out and a droplet of water could in theory act like a magnifying glass and start a fire. I've seen those videos. So yeah it's possible. Unlikely...but possible.
So stay out of the woods. Or you're in for a big surprise.

  9. RIP Loni...I too was a Bailey fan. Happy Madison is a cameo fest like no other. Netflix paying Adam Sandler a shit tonne means he can do what he wants - it wasn't much of anything else so why wouldn't he put his kids in it.

  12. I watched the end of the FedEx golf playoffs today, Englishman Justin Rose and American J.J. Spaun played in a playoff for the win. There was some "USA" chants from the crowd when Spaun made his putts. Well, Justin Rose ended up beating Spaun on the 3rd playoff hole so f_ck you USA. Go England! and Go Euros during the Ryder Cup!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Helluva comeback by Rose, birdie-ing the last 4 holes to even get to the playoff. I've always been a fan of his, and nice to see the 'old' guy winning. Beating the Murican is just the cherry on top.

      Delete
    2. And man, I was pulling for Fleetwood but he's still searching for that first win.

      Delete
    3. I felt so bad for poor Fleetwood, of these days he will finish off a W.

And yes, good to see 45 year old Justin Rose beat Spaun and shut up the arrogant muricans. F_ck them.

  16. Apparently we will have to wait until after Sept. 01 for HuGo to make their next move when Geoff Molson forks over $5.5mil in bonus money to Mr. Price and then they can trade his contract to some bottom feeder salary cap team. Then, HuGo can swing the deal for Sid and be cap compliant.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I know there is a lot of nuance to why teams take on contracts like that, but right now no team NEEDS it to get to the floor. I guess it could help some of those teams if they foresee getting rid of salary as the season moves along.
But I still hold out hope that Carey cashes his $5.5m and then announces his retirement, just leaving that paltry $2m on the table. And then is hired by HuGoMo in some non-player capacity, at which time he can get his $2m without doing anything, but in a different way.

      Delete
    2. There have to be some cheapskate owners who would like to only pay a player 800Gs for a year and get the $10.5mil benefits.

Trump is not an IDOT. He has been electect P of the United States twice. People used to say the people are never wrong. I dont want to right the 10,000 word disertion that got me a degree despite my jail time. I was in jail for stealing flags because I wanted to show my prides as a Shell Customer.

  21. Boy watching the end of the BMW golf tourney...check the standings to see how the Canadians did...and Corey Connors shot a...double check that...a 10 over 80?! That's a rough day. But he had enough cushion, he'll be in the final next week playing for $20m or whatever obscene amount the winner gets now.

I think Marty should play Demigod with Nature and Whiskey. Slaf is a 2nd line player at best.

  25. Big weekend for golf.
The men are in the finals of the playoffs. I pity the poor bugger who finishes last in 30th place. He'll only take home a measly $355K.
Good luck to the Canadians. Nick Taylor might have a shot at a top 10 finish. Need 8th though to pocket over a $1M.
Sports salaries really are fucked...but we plebs keep watching so they keep earning.

And the ladies are playing the Canadian Open. A 15 year old Canadian opened with the clubhouse lead -5! I think Brooke's best days are behind her. All went downhill when she started wearing glasses and switched to Taylor Made.
I mean she still earned $360K so far this year so no tears. I wonder how much she pays her sister to carry her bag?

Its a storyline season like no other. League wide we have, Mcdavid, Maner, Matthews, and Bedard in the red hot foucus. We got little stories like Kid Ko, and Peterson in Van. We got the Rags, have they really lost their riCHes?
Habs fans have so much entertainment it cant possibly fit into the regular season and we are going on a run, at least to the second round. I know Demigod is going to punch over his bar, just like Rock Hard Fast Lane. For me the big story to watCH is Wool. Will he be a sweater or just a mitten?
My friend actually paid for Apple TV to watCH invasion. Its very slow but good. Finally got into Foundation. Severence is in the bullpen. Although its subtle 4K is worth paying for if the graphics let it shine.
