I've been under the weather the last two days with a wicked chest cold so I went to bed early last night and was spared the pain of watching my Habs get pummeled by a superior opponent.
FIRE CARLYLE!!! Oh wait, that;s that other team.....
Blogger ate my post! I had a huge rant about how the coach has history for being shit so why do we stick with him. He plays guys out of position, plays favourites, doesn't play his best players at the right time, mismanages his time outs and generally gets his ass handed to him on most nights by the opposition coach. I didn't watch last night as I had a pretty bad feeling and by time I got home, your comments told me it was a lost cause. I see that PFK managed 21 minutes last night. That can mean only 1 thing...Frankie Boo and Crankshaft got way too much ice time. This proves what I said. The coach mismanages his team - these guys are not 20 minute a night Dmen any more. Murray is a 8-10 minute PK specialist. I don't even know what Frankie Boo is...(waste of space comes to mind however)...but he's not a 20 minute a night Dman on any other team in the league (except maybe the leaf...)LLB comes up from Hamilton to sit on his ass for 52 minutes - WTF!!? Lego is not a winger - HE'S A CENTERMAN...I could go on - but it's getting fucking boring as hell. Honestly - they are going to Detroit on Friday - that could get really fucking scary!...let's hope it becomes a route to an end...THE COACH'S!!!
The reason they do not fire the coach is simple. Montreal has to much class. If you get a job with a class organization they do not fire you when things go bad. They wait and see, so I expect we stick with eMTy until the off season. The fact is that our team is not a contender, changing the coach is not going to make Vampire Dan younger, DDD harder to knock off the puck, or Crankshaft get another gear. I think keeping eMTy is a tank commander strategy and I am all for it. Its a shame that TFS is going to waste a year, but lots of people have been wasted on the way.
Next year maybe we will try putting right handed defence on the right defence, Giant who I admire but would trade in a heartbeat will be gone possibly replaced by a younger faster version like Colberg. I love superpleXXXe and he is the kind of role player you win cups with, but if we are going to keep DDD at center he has to go. It makes no sense to keep him on a mediocre team.
I wasn't the least surprised by the result of last night's game. The Pens have two of the top 5 players in the world with a great supporting cast. Their only weakness is in goal but Fleury was good enough last night. That's the reality of it. We look at the Montreal Canadiens when they take the ice and hope to see Beliveau, Cournoyer, Mahovlich, Lafleur, Shutt, the Big 3, Dryden, Roy and on and on..... It's not there anymore folks. *Hangs head and cries*
Okay, so let's say MT gets the boot. Do you want Bylsma instead? With all that talent he hasn't got them past the second round for the past four years. WTF do you think he could do with this lot? Discuss.
Who to get depends on Molson and whether or not he grows a pair and stops bowing down to pressure of hiring a francophone-only-coach and would at least give them a larger talent pool to choose from.
Not going to happen when the Quebec cultural minister threatened to boycott all Molson products unless a French coach is hired. We need an owner that is outside of Quebec with no other business interests here.
I don't know if another coach could get any more out of this bunch or not. Maybe, just maybe this person would recognize where certain players play better at (Lego) or not lasso and hogtie his best (PFK). Apparently Chris Nilan said on TSN690 it would be no good to bring in a new coach (Boucher) right now because it would be setting them up to fail. Might as well ride out eMTy for the rest of the year, in other words, give him enough rope to hang himself.
And Moey, re: Bylsma, he's got a sieve for a goalie, that's why they haven't advanced. If I was Shero I'd try to pry Teabag Timmy out of Florida.
Thank you Dallas for not allowing the leaf to move ahead of the Habs (with approximately 972342 games in hand, but still). Of course the Habs still need to, you know, WIN. They can do both this weekend. I have faith. And like a faithful Christian with lung cancer, I'm willing to let my blind faith lead me. Cause what else is there to do?
Jonathan Bernier was pulled after allowing three goals on 13 shots and the Toronto Maple Leafs trail the Dallas Stars 6-1 after the second period. James Reimer entered the game and surrendered three goals on his first five shots faced.
Tomorrow leaf fans will still say they're better then TFS and should both have been selected instead. Speaking of those idiot fans, I heard Nilan call out one of their faved trolls for a comment he made against Genie last night, but just he said it was now removed. I did see another poster reply to him, so I guess they removed it.
Just want to add about what difference getting rid of Half MT will have. Maybe it won't change the fortunes of this current team, or make them an instant contender. But I think the way he plays favourites and refuses to play the young players will drive a lot of talent out of town. He is the leading reason we're worried PK won't sign long term. Most Habs fans I've spoken with have said they'd rather lose with youth getting experience than with lazy vets geting a free pass. That's never going to happen with MT there. To me, he is a danger to the future of the organization. That's my two cents.
Love how fucking kadri uses his stick then when roussel goes after him and the refs are holding him, kadr punches him in the face. What a team full of dirty cowards.
I look forward to endless TSN articles about the incident, highlighting this young player's lack of respect for vets, his dirty play and his, ahem, non-traditional playing style. I won't be holding my breath.
Really, Kadri is a dirty, dirty player and this isn't the first time he's gotten fancy with his stick and then ran away (never mind Kessel's history of doing the same). And PK has more talent in his left pinky that that piece of shit. Yet we see the double standard every day from Toronto Sports Network and home of the leaf, CBC.
Kadri gets away with murder from the refs and the league - took out a goalie, then a head shot in the same game - should have gotten 2 suspensions. PFK gets shit on by the toronto based media. They're just dying to know why he met with DGMB today and he won't tell them, it must really burn them. Guess they'll have to make something up.
Here's a what Dallas showed on the jumbotron. http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas-stars/headlines/20140123-stars-remind-world-that-justin-bieber-is-toronto-maple-leafs-fan-also-poke-fun-at-rob-ford.ece
On a positive note, it would be fun to have Bill Murray as interim coaCH (the following link leads to a great read):

Maybe we can vote for a new gov't and get a new cultural minister who understands hockey.

Somebody needs to get that kid under control or he's going to wind up in a casket.
DeleteAccording to LeBrun, a western GM related to him that RBQ's name has been put out by the Habs.
ReplyDeleteMB should trade for Nathan Gerbe, that was a sweet goal he scored yesterday. He'd fit the current profile as well.
