Wow what a great period of hockey! Won my curling game and home in time to catch the last 10 minutes of the game, which appear to be the most important minutes so far. MJ is right, when Domi and Druid are on, they are ON! Fun to watch.
At the rink, a slice of pizza and a donair eggroll for supper. They bring the stuff in from one of the better pizza joints around. It was adequate for za that had been sitting for a bit.
I wish we had a European or South American style play by play guy that would drag that out for about 20 seconds when Tataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar scores.
From September: "Cole’s next broadcast is scheduled for October 6 in Pittsburgh, for a game between the Penguins and the Montreal Canadiens. His last game will come sometime during the first half of the season, according to Sportsnet."
We've got to be damn near that 10 game mark aren't we?! And for old times sake, shouldn't he do a couple of leaf games. Bring back Harry Neale to do the colour for them...assuming he's still alive...either way same difference.
But I will always keep a small spot in my heart for this moment.
It's actually a little sad listening to him now, he's clearly well past his expiration date as a play by play guy and he's often...nay, always discombobulated.
A PSA about Huawie from Littlefinger. For those of you who advertising does not affect, Huawie is the Chinese equivilant of Northern Telecom and they own HNIC between periods.
Anybody watching the tsn feed? Interview with Roch Carrier about 'The Sweater' which is opening as a musical tomorrow. That would be amazing. Lebrun says he has his own version of the story. Growing up as a Habs fan his grandmother bought him a Nordique sweater. Says he never put it on.
Ironic, isn't it, that other teams are digging through the Habs dumpster these days picking up bergy's scraps. Also, how weird is it to see former powerhouses Chicago, St. Louis and Los Angeles occupying the last 3 spots in the NHL standings?
ST Louis the biggest surprise. THey were supposed to have the best farm in the country. The Russian is letting them down. The Russians have ruined, Montreal, St Louis and Hillary.
I wonder how long before Hockey Night in toronto dumps Huawei as it's main sponsor? Lots of bad publicity usually motivates the littlest commissioner...
I have good news and bad news and both are the same news. I have crunched the numbers, channeled my inner McSplooge and conclude irrefutably we make the playoffs this year. Fact BBQ, Fact LB, Fact Domini Fact Druid, Fact TFS has not been great yet. Fact TaaTaaaaarrr Tuna is better old. Fact we make the playoffs.
Fact we will get the 20th draft pick, pick a big D man with CHaracter who will play the third paring for Seattle in five years.
Have you just eaten something needed reguritation? The Toronto Star can help with this headline " Leafs redefine Toughness" What being made of glass is the new tough?
The toronto media fanboy hacks are reveling in their new found brashness now that their putrid leaf are some kind of favourite to win the Cup. We will all enjoy the usual leafool shadenfreud when they inevitably fold up like a cheap tent in a gale. You know it's coming. Even their former GM Burkie says they aren't for real --- just a cheap imitation.
In the lets trade Taylor Hall school of management we have a new case study.. Colton Parchyo is 25 years old, 6' 6" tall and 230 lbs. A third round draft pick. A consistent 30 plus pointer. Why do the Blues want to trade him? The answer seems to be the Leaf will overpay.
Chicken pot pie and a cab. Brownies for dessert. GYFHG!!!
ReplyDeleteHomemade?

I think it has been years since the bob cold has been used
Sounds like I'm missing a whuppin'... I'll stay away to keep the good luck rolling. K?

He did the game last Saturday night and it was awful. Didn't have a clue what was going on 95% of the time. He should have retired 10 years ago.
DeleteI wonder if I should not watch again tonight just to keep the streak going?
ReplyDeleteCan I peek through my fingers? : p
Caribbean beef patties. Shiz.
ReplyDeletePizza. GF from frozen with some local pepperoni added.
ReplyDeleteYou guys probably haven't heard. Wee Willy Nylander is back.
ReplyDeleteMac and cheese and bubbly.
ReplyDeleteWho's this fucking nylander character anyway? Is he worth 7m a season? Or is that leaf worth? Big difference...
ReplyDeleteA replay of Tuesday's game would be nice.
ReplyDeleteTwo of RDS' biggest séparacists (new word!), b. brunet and g. therrien, crying their asses off about Fiver and CHud not playing and slagging Peca.
ReplyDeleteThe hilarious thing is RDS is trying to out-séparacist tva.
DeleteSee if you can find a theme here, RDS talks about the Sens, Duchene, Pageau, Lajoie discussed. Nothing else.
DeleteR.I.P. Pete Shelley (off the BuZZcocks).
ReplyDeleteAck, gotta work on those faceoffs.

ReplyDeleteLb make sit 5-2!
A few iffy moments but nice win.
ReplyDelete10-4 in goals in two games.
Good win. Onto Chicago Sunday. Keep er goin boys!
ReplyDeleteNice. Keep it going boys,
ReplyDeleteIf you ask me, LB is our MVP so far this season. Nice win boys - on to Chicago to do it all over again!
ReplyDeleteXman now on the wire. We should rename our GM King Bergy for the amount of waiving he's doing this year.
ReplyDeleteI think he is serviceable as a 3rd pairing with limited minutes for a team hurting for defense depth. Maybe he'll join LHN in LaLa Land.
DeleteIronic, isn't it, that other teams are digging through the Habs dumpster these days picking up bergy's scraps. Also, how weird is it to see former powerhouses Chicago, St. Louis and Los Angeles occupying the last 3 spots in the NHL standings?

DeleteSo, no game for Habs fans tonight, guess I'll put a movie on and have some beer and popcorn. Followed by a wee dram.
ReplyDeleteNo one watching the hall of fame game, yep a whole team of future hall of famers playing the beaners.
ReplyDeleteThe best leaf fantasy of the moment is what they are going to get for Jake Gardnier. Let the bidding start at two first, a top six and a prospect.
