  2. That Phoebe Cates gif is a tad cruel. *makes note to check NSFW version at home.

The pool hall (OK convenience store with a pool table) where I grew up had a colourful owner. And we'd play pool and when he would nearly make a shot but just miss he said it had a lot of po' , short for potential.

I'd say our young guns have a lot of po'. Some will 3 bank into the corner pocket, some will rub a couple of tits but not fall, and some will be nothing but a scuff on the cue ball, blamed on the lack of chalk, but in reality is lack of will or skill.

I just hope the best of the best rise to the top and help our team get back on top in the next few years.

  4. Some buzz around Carbo getting a HHoF nomination or better yet inducted !

  5. Congrats Carbo !

  6. Carbo in the HOF! Nice one! Congrats to Hayley Wickenheiser too. Well deserved!

  7. Carbo and Ms. Wickenheiser, both well deserved. Thought Carbo got yanked by CH too soon as both a player and head cosch. Hard to believe he isn't coaching somewhere now. --SiM

  8. Congrats to Carbo indeed! Hope he has 2 of his 3 rings stuck in his ears so he can't hear Roenick's whining.

Congrats to Carbo, it was foolish for the Habs to dump him for giving the middle finger to a nosy fucking journalist ( I hope it was a separatiste one) and Gainey pulled the trigger way to soon of firing him. They had the best PP in the league with him coaching.

Anyway, good for Guy to make it past all the SFU scrutineers to make it into the Hall.

  10. Mike Reilly just signed a two-year, $3M deal with CH. Plays left D, like Meat and KadillaK. Hmm --SiM

    1. That's a good deal. He's a dandy 3rd pairing LD. Meat is a fine 2nd pair LD. And KadillaK ain't a 1st pairing so...over to you Bergy.

  11. Word is that PoolParty doesn't want to play in the limelight (ie Canada). He should've taken up soccer instead.

Poolparty = Puljujaarvi ... kind sounds the same, easier to pronounce.

I'd take a chance on him, all the Finns in Montreal could translate for him, apparently his English isn't very good.

    2. Not a serious upgrade. Now BBQ, Mest, Jewels, Dish, KadillaK, Radar, B12, X-Man, Leskinen, no room without trading --SiM

  12. Anyone surprised how some of the SFU (simmons, cox, et al.) are not at all happy about Carbo's HHOF induction. Fucking assholes.

But those toronto media assholes were OK with Lindros being inducted. Now, Lindros was a great offensive star but what did he ever win? That's right, nothing. Carbo? three (3) Cups while checking the other teams stars and still finding time to score 20 plus goals a season.

    2. Yep. Three Selkes. His best work was vs. waynEgo in 1993.

  13. Guy Carbonneau’s selection to the Hall is a victory for Bob Clarke. He gave several interviews over the years where he said he felt Carbonneau deserved to be in. At the 2010 Stanley Cup Final, I brought it up to him and Clarke remained adamant. He felt Carbonneau was a dominant defensive player in an offensive era, someone who made a major difference on a regular contender and a Stanley Cup champion.

  16. Congrats to Lou on a great career.

I sometimes saw him as the next Habs goalie and then Gainey/Timmins went and got TFS.

  17. Admittedly getting stoked for the Stones concert. Their back-to-back Chicago shows were supposedly amazing. Set lists are fucking awesome. I need me some satisfaction baby !

  18. Another hilarious SFU mindbend is that they think their basketball team's tainted victory will somehow bless their leaf with something.

  21. So Duchene apparently met with the Habs. I must say I honestly don't know how I feel about him. Probably looking at a minimum of 7x9.5 and is he worth that risk?
