As a Canadiens and NY Giants fan, I'm getting tired of Draft watching instead of playoff action. Just sayin'.
I'll get at least one nfl playoff game, but that Titans team could surprise this year and go to the afc championship.
As for the Habs we have to assume they won't be in the playoffs even if MB won't accept it. And if he still has the reins in the offseason, I can see him taking a big swing to trade up for the top pick. It would be costly, probably more than most fans would be happy with. But I can see it. And I am assuming by the way that Gary won't let the Habs HAVE the 1st pick...unless it's time to cash in that John Scott favour?
Hmmm... What would Stevie Y want for the first overall pick? Let's assume Montreal gets a top 5, so, that pick, 1st in 2021, he would probably want a top end D prospect and a current player. Yeah, it would be expensive. Better to pray to the hockey gods and maybe even the Big Guy himself to intervene on mb's behalf to get that coveted pick in June. AS Red Fisher used to say: "Let us pray..."
As I'm on record saying management are the ones that can orchestrate the tanking of a season, perhaps MB's signing of Kovalchuk is just that. The T-17 tank was a one-man mechanized support tankette designed and developed by the Soviet Union during the Interwar period.
It's time to move the HoF and hockey operations to Windsor, NS, the birthplace of hockey and away from any centre that might have a stake in how games turn out.

That being said, said habs are 2-6-4 at home since Nov. 16th and 8-9-4 or call it 8 wins and 13 losses overall. There's your answer as to why they sit where they are. And in my opinion, the Scandella trade and Kovalchuk signed is just smoke and mirrors from bargain bin, to make it seem he is doing something.
But you cannot suck and blow. The anchors of this team with a 20 mill cap hit are BBQ and TFS. Who BBB can not find the courage to move. If we are ever to win the Cup again, they gotta go.

a thing i like a lot about soccer is that the team which had possession when play gets called for something gets it back from the other team. that is sportsmanship. in the finland game, it would have been classy for team canada to fess up and admit it was a high stick major. for this gold medal, it would have been HUGELY sporting to tell the ref: yes, it is a penalty.
vs pgh: i was just about to post publicly that 1. i reeeeeely hope kidko doesnt turn out to be lego. 2. lekho of course is better than kidko today, but i think theres a big chance he could be as well once the final scores are counted. 3. that loss is on him. if he scored any of those chances for the hat trick, that 49/51 goal wouldnt have even happened...

for the record... i think that was a 49/51 call on the game winner. sorry boys, i agree with that call 51/100. while im on the record. carey... if u at least act like u give a dammm... it at least shows the refs on the ice that you think it was a foul and at minimum it puts doubt into their head to further investigate. if u are always 'meh' on stuff like that, u dont get the respect u deserve. sometimes, respect is something u must take.
martimer: unless carey grows a spine and shows he can get angry, u are right. this team will struggle to go 4 rounds with him in net. the weird thing about your prophecy is that ken and jordan are mild mannered while #33 was a firecracker. i guess both can win u cups, but i prefer the guy to know what fire is so he can carry the torch, be it his to hold it high...
