I wonder if MB can get 1st round picks for Petry and Tatar, would 3 first round picks, plus a top prospect (not Suzuki) be enough to get Lafreniere? I'm not one to pin hopes and dreams on a teenage saviour but it's what the horde wants.
Before my time but I've heard stories enough. There is a hockey guy named Liam something or other that used to have spots on the local talk radio. Knows everything there is about hockey it seems. I think Backstrom was traded to the Kings to keep them good enough to stay above the Seals who trade their first round pick to the Habs previously, which would be one Guy Lafleur? Something along these lines.
I expect the Habs to play .400 - .500 the rest of the way. If they are lucky. Ideally they will finish in the 6-8 range to have a crack at the number 1 pick.
In our case its not doggy in the window its BBB dogs. I still say put together a huge package, kissin Wealy, CHip, T17 , Dish, ten fucking players, and go to Colorodo, get that stud D they got last year, and their first this year.
Hey @claudejulien and @kirkmuller and maybe @domducharme ... the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Whatever it is you are currently doing, it ain't workin'. And clod, calling out Nick Suzuki every chance you get is fucking bullshit. He is the least of your problems. Fuck off.
Good news, the wretched, putrid fucking leaf are out of the playoffs as of this morning and the Wild moved ahead of Montreal in the overall standings with a win last night over the Canucknuckleheads. gCHuk with the SO winner. If picking today, barring any lottery miracles, Habs would draft 8th overall.
Might as well let Ovie get his 700th tonight right?
In reality, the team is sunk.
ReplyDeleteNeed to go 17-4 to have a chance at the playoffs...so you're telling me there's a chance!
Soooo...
4-1 (lose to Caps)
4-1 (lose to Bolts)
4-1 (lose to Avs)
4-1 (lose to Preds)
Beat Leafs for last spot in Atlantic.
That is the current plan.
Now will that happen with or without Tattttttaaaarrrrrr, T17, Dish, etc? That is the question we find out the answer to within the next 6 days.

ReplyDeleteNobody will trade the rights to Alexis. Not even if bbb included the rights to Ralph Backstom. The only way is to win that lottery pick.
DeleteI know. I keep dreaming, just like having Sid in a Habs sweater, even if at the tail end of his career. Won't happen, but one can imagine.
DeleteAnybody pick up on the mention of Backstrom? There is historical significance...

BINGO!!
DeleteThen they got Backstrom back in time for the Cup run in '71. Sam Pollack outsmarted everybody.
Good memories.

ReplyDeletethis is the stuff BBB is good at. trading a fourth who will never play in the NHL for a second who most likely will not play in the NHL.
DeleteFire sale has begun.
