  1. Even when he signed his long-term lucrative contract, I thought OV should've been a Hab.

One of my all-time fave non-Canadiens player.

I hope he breaks waynEgo's goal record.

    1. What Clash tune is that? Rock the Casbah? One of the few I never much cared for. I'm thinking of Washington Bullets for tonight.

    2. Ovi and Vodkov, Kovalev, Big Tits, so many Habs memories that failed to transpire...

    3. Yeah, Casbah. Figured it would be a rockin’ game, for OV.

  3. I'm driving home and the radio station teases a Habs Pens trade, details at 445. It is 432 and I'm on my way home but stopping at the but her first. Traffic is heavy finally arrive at butcher at 443. Over that 11 minutes I first thought oooh we finally nabbed Sid! Of course I knew that to be untrue, but by the time I arrived I figured Uncle N8 for a 3rd or 4th was most likely. Then sports come on, Mooseheads yada yada and Habs Caps game is tonight and btw Habs made a trade with the Pens...announces trade but has it backwards. First of all it's a minor league transaction so who effin cares. But he said the Habs were getting Riley and whasshissname and I thought huh I don't remember them being dealt before, how odd to trade back for them. Moral of the story is just like this season, it was a disappointing finale to my 13 minute wait for that news.

    2. Jeez, will the letdowns never cease? Reading Testaments. Margaret Atwood can still tell a story. Not much help in cheering me up though.

Yeah, not really wanting to watch my team take another beating or even worse, blow another late lead. Not that I've watched any games lately, the leaf win being the last one.

Gonna be another long spring with no Habs playoff action, I don't know if I even want to get into a playoff pool. It's been 6 LONG years since Montreal made any playoff noise and I'm not getting any younger. I lost faith in bergevin a long time ago. I don't think he has any real plan. I can't stand julien. There is not much to entice me to watch a Habs game anymore.

    2. Tactical genius from time to time, but unable to build a complete team, or a capable AHL winner either. Seems like Bergy is just okay. A guy with all the resources in the world shouldn't be in charge of this much losing. His team's best years were the one's Bob built. Hope Geoff sees the light and reaches out to Bobby Smith (and steps back himself).

    4. My guilty pleasure is Manifest, great plot line, average acting, and stupid stories. But I love it.

  6. Leko not in. I assume he just got violently ill from watching video of his team's third period play against Detroit the other night.

    3. Rocky MT high, my fantasy and I am not high. Is we trade the whole crust on this cake for the D man CO has and whatever. Trading TFS is not an option. If we did that we have to take the big Russkie goalie with our first pick. None of our stud pick goalies are better than Kinkad at this moment, and only Optomis Primau looks like he can shatter the AHL ceiling.

  9. Just saw a replay of X-Man's head hitting the boards on the receiving end of a hard check from the first couple minutes of play. Yeah, this will be a 5-D night for the Habs for the whole game. Concussion protocol for sure. Get well, X-Man.

    1. The captain's sprained ankle was on the ice for 9:02 of the first period too. Tough guys like him deserve to play on a playoff team.

  12. So I got 3 eps into Treadstone. So far so good, definitely the Jason Bourne universe.

Tuned into the game with 34 seconds left, I said to my daughter "Of course they can beat one of the best teams in the league...but the game's not over yet." Caps scored 3 seconds after I finished my statement I kid you not. But good on the team for showing up even if all it does is decrease your lottery odds. Even better, just go ahead and surprise the hellmout of everybody and finish the season 18-2 & do some damage in the playoffs.

Watched a pretty good movie last night. Molly's Game, story of an Olympic level skier who turned to running high stakes poker games. She met a lot of assholes along the way. Jessica Chastain is smokin' hot!

    2. Good movie. And she is indeed. Needs to make an appearance on a future thread perhaps.

    1. ON EOTP they have invoked a chant from Game of thrones. So when the nightwatch stap Jon Snow, they say "for the watch" When a Habs player misses an open net or TFS lets in a soft one, its "for the tank"
For the tank, all we do from now till june is for the tank

Can I just say, I wasn't a Game of Thrones fan. I only watched it at the instance of my kids. If I had never seen it I would not have regretted it. Sure, there were some interesting characters, the Hound being the best one for me. But the overall story, meh.

Amusing how the toronto sports network takes ANY story about any other team and makes it about their fucking leaf. I so hope those fuckers crash and burn out of the playoff race...

hahhaha! thnx for the calling me out. after that epic collapse vs dallas, i was fuming mad
    1. for blowing a 0-3 lead
    2. then realising the refs screwed em out of it

it took me a few days to gather myself, but theres nothing like 2pts against the crappiest team in the league to get your playoff train firing again!

oh... wait. nvrmnd. after taking 3 more days to gather myself, and seeing how they still know how to match the quality of their opponents, IM BACK! & thank-you very much for doing the math for me. 18-2! yeah! no problem.

so you're saying theres a CHance! gymfhgooooooooooo!

(now that polo is gone, can we bring back/up snowman again?)
