  4. I totally agree with your post. People who are not white or Asian live in a world that is not fair. We have to eliminate racism and any discrimination. Human nature tells us this is a great challenge. It is the same challenge we face in economics, the free market, the invisible hand, the market driven company, its all part and parcel of the same bullshit.

Humans are animals and changing animal behavior is a monumental task. In parts of Europe they have made good progress, in North America sadly not much has really changed.

Black lives do matter, but the organization Black Lives Matter for me is no better than what they are fighting against.

  5. Not to be disrespect, but I always thought thought that squirrels lives matter, because I believe I am one left over from a battle a billion years ago. I was taken from the trees of earth and upgraded to human, but I never lost my taste for nuts.

    Every squirrel in the world

    loves nuts

    and I am the one

    they want the most

    because I am the only

    nut that seeks

    a bolt

    I am a nut

    and you are a bolt

    lets screw together

I am a nut and you

    are a bolt

    lets screw together

    That is how squirrels

    think and thats

    why they die

    crossing the

    street

    they only see

    bolts not cars

  6. Awesome post moeman! Halle Berry (first black woman to win an acting Oscar) is one of the reasons Cloud Atlas worked as a movie for me.

May I suggest a couple additions?

The first leader of a major political party in Quebec: Dominique Anglade: https://plq.org/en/team/dominique-anglade/

The amazing actress who makes Upload work, Andy Allo:
    https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3698103/?ref_=tt_cl_t2

The actress Kerry Washington, who co-starred in Little Fires Everywhere (super good series with Reese Witherspoon too)
    https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0913488/?ref_=tt_cl_t1

Glad to see TFS putting his two cents in, awkward typos and all proving the words are all his, and not massaged by the Canadiens Marketing Team.

Fingers washed and crossed everyone; masks on when indoors in public.

Very nice Sexy Friday! Love Halley Berry!

Geoff Molson spent 90 minutes yesterday defending his own incompetence. I fear our beloved team will never win under his and bergevin's watch. I hope I'm wrong. I have to say, with all that's going on, the pandemic and racial turmoil, major league sports seems kind of irrelevant at the moment. It will be nice to watch pro golf this Sunday though.

Cheers everyone and don't let your guard down!

    1. Geoff was disingenuous in pointing to his inclusion on the Board of Governors as somehow indicative of his hockey knowledge in that interview. He might be inviting a legacy closer to a Ballard than a Pollack with that attitude. Meanwhile, MLB is shooting itself in the foot, just like a bunch of spoiled millionaires unable to see the forest for the trees.

Yeah, the Harold Ballard analogy has crossed my mind a few times. This regime is starting to remind me of Old Ballard and King Clancy running the leaf into the ground while they were playing the roles of the two old hecklers on The Muppet Show up in their private box in maple leaf gardens. Stadler and Waldorf...

      Delete
    3. The team is gelling, actually. They just need to keep off the injured list. Good picks vs. a few mistakes on Bergevin's part (or is he simply too big a gambler?)

LB was a bigger loss "in the room" than Druid on the ice, especially with SSR no longer there. And the lack of a proper back-up for TFS is inexcusably incompetent for a GM who should have learned his lesson on that front five years ago! But I digress.

    4. Should there be Habs hockey, I'll watch but I'd prefer they just outright cancel the season, let things rest until October.

Geoff should stick to be the owner, get a Prez of Hockey and use his Molson power to put the boots to the NHL.

I hope everyone here is safe and well.Still no hockey so no comments on our Habs from me here...There is soccer (football) being played in the UK again - no fans and all games on the TV - you can choose to have pretend fan noise (from FIFA20) pumped into your feed or just watch it without. Will they do that for hockey when (if) it returns? Today the UK lowered it's warning level from 4 (a fucking pandemic spreading like wildfire) to Level 3 ( a fucking pandemic spreading slowly)...so pray for me as it's Fathers Day over here too this weekend and everyone is going to ignore all the warnings and hug everyone in their family, friend groups and neighbours - because, you know, the Level was lowered so that's ok...:(

  40. In Torota we got a ruling on a case that divides black and white. Alledgelly at 2 AM a 3 some of black kids are breaking into cars looking for pocket change in Whitby. These Kids all live in TO. One of the houses on this block has two brothers doing a dart. One of them is an off duty cop. They alledgelly break into the truck in the driveway, and then an altercation ensues. The punk ends up losing an eye,the off duty cop gets convicted of assault because he used a pipe from the garage to beat the black UTE. I say justice was not served.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I dunno "Steve". Gotta call you on this one. Allegedly the truck was broken in to. Even if this is true, the perps took off. Let them go. Why chase one of them down and beat the shit out of them? That is overly aggressive and a crime. I've had my car broken into for loose change and even caught someone doing it. I chased him trying to offer him some money. No one does this for fun, it's out of desperation. Anyone who beats someone with a pipe is guilty of assault. It was not self defense, it was brutal aggression.

      Delete
    2. Its a debatable for sure. Personally I would be calling 911 from my bomb shelter. In this case the Judge determined the injury to the eye happened during fight that could be considered self defense. The only reason he was convicted is because he did chase him down armed with a pipe. If you are in a fight, well as Butch says, you gotta set the rules first.

Shot 81 yesterday on one leg. I can see a knee procedure coming up in the fall...

    1. Nice! I just haven't been able to get out like I'd hoped to. Maybe Friday. And at this rate, I won't get my game sub 100. Oh well I 'can' retire in 4 years,10 months. Maybe then I take a few lessons and play more to help get me to 90 or so.

I tuned into the golf on Saturday to see if Hughes could make a run, but it was clear he wasn't going to have that extra gear that DJ clearly found. 3rd place though, not bad.

Thanks, I screwed up a couple of approach shots or I would have broke 80. Oh well, next time! I didn't start getting good until I retired and yes, lessons help immensely. It will feel really weird and you will get frustrated but stick with what they tell you and the results will come. Also, you have to play regularly to get a 'feel' for the short game and putting which is where you cut strokes. Good luck!

I stopped getting drunk at 50, not that I did it a lot, usually about once every 7 years I would slip up. All I do now is sip. Either a beer, two at the most or a shot or two of scotch. It's much less painful. Watching eMpTy aka Arrogant Fuckface coach made me want to get drunk, or puke at least...but thankfully those days are over. He's the phucktard's problem now.

  55. As the shadow minister of the yet to be created ministry of SCI FI you might think I am just AFO on the couch, unable to reach the keyboard and not yet mastered using my phone to control the computer. Well you would be right on the small stuff. What I am talking about Wilis, this is a pure appeal for diversity in receiving my opinion. What we are talking about is all failure to communicate and Marshell Mcleaun stuff that nobody really understands. However if you had enough experts you would find enough monkeys to write a book called SNOWCRASH. We are in pre lim of snowcrash.

I do not consider much about waves and cows standing in one direction under high tension lines. 1. Looking at the C comparisons, we're gonna lose a lot of face-offs. Hope they're been coached with that in mind. Winning puck battles and getting in the passing lanes will be key to not getting horribly demolished. --SiM

    2. EAP will have to stop skating like a slinky, KidKo will need to find his mojo. I dont think Domini should take the risk. Its a line up that is going to get much sweeter when the CZar and BirchBoy arrive next season.

I have planted so many memories that keep me alive, so lets say I am wondering what its like to ice ski down the peaks of Titian and I can have that and crash many times and still stay alvie, and in my mind the one time I do not fall the computer tells the mind to say at any query, Steve your awesome, lets go scuba dive.

“Normally July 1 is for free agents. We don't know until when it was postponed. I expect October or even November. For our players, on the other hand, it is very clear, we want to gain experience against the Penguins and go as far as possible, "said Bergevin.
