Hey Moeman...NOAR! Surf's up! My ask this draft day is simple. TRADE FOR A FUCKING PROVEN SNIPER! Habs got kids coming up the ying yang. They need goal scorer!..Just do it! GYFHG!
In theory, IF there is somebody worthy available at #16, that is when another team interested in said player makes a move for the pick. So it seems until then, nothing will happen. Unless it does.
Good luck to Karl Alzner, he was a class act all the way, accepting his demotion with dignity. Unlike another player who shall go unnamed who pouted and quit on his team when sent to the AHL. If anybody off the main roster has to be traded for a Laine I hope it's that guy instead of Domi.
If a Laine deal can't be had, I hope bbbergy takes a shot at Taylor Hall. Apparently he has said he will take a 1 or 2 year deal to see how this COVID thing shakes out. Worth the risk.
I'm not watching any of the Draft of the loathsome snet channel with all their hand picked leafool fanboys frothing at the mouth over every fucking player in the world whose dream it was to play for the wretched leaf. I'll just sit at my computer and follow some NHL scout wannabe on Twitter for updates. Maybe have a shot or two of whiskey. Cheers!
Van Halen at the Montreal Forum - circa 1982...My first real Rock Concert. You never forget your first! Fuck Cancer. RIP Eddie Fuck 2020 for the millonth time. RIP Eddie Van Halen. https://t.co/7VgusDSGOr https://twitter.com/_chickenjoe_/status/1313584829406089217?s=27
I don't think it makes them a whole lot better talent wise. They've definitely gotten bigger with Anderson and Edmonson. They are essentially the same team that was 24th overall when play was paused. If they are any better will depend on how Nature and Kotka develop going forward. It's asking a lot of those two. Bergevin still needs to hit a homer IMO. The Habs will still struggle to make the playoffs.
So, I decided to check the tva feed (fuck the SFU) and watched a couple of picks. Gary must be kind of enjoying hosting this Draft not being booed even once. I could see this being the way to hold the draft for the foreseeable future.
I was kind of hoping the Habs would take Dawson Mercer, a nice hockey name.
I saw a projection somewhere that Montreal would take defenceman William Villeneuve from Saint John at #47. We'll find out tomorrow. I like him better than Poirier.
So Alex Tuch's brother Luke. I fear this is a Valeri Bure situation. Not that Alex = Pavel, but on a smaller scale. We'll see. And a smaller Czech centreman. Time will tell also. With using those 2 picks, it means we're definitely waiting for FA season, no more big trades being made to get that 40 goal scorer I'm sure MB will find.
I sure hope bbbergy has something else up his sleeve because I'm not too impressed so far. Lots of cap strapped teams out there ripe for the picking. K3X is absolutely correct, the Habs need a 40 goal scorer to succeed.
Meh, we've been complaining that Montreal hasn't spent to the cap for years. I'm ok with it. I think it rules out Hall though. There's a rumour he's going to the Rockslides anyway.
Never thought I'd say "new AC/DC" but here it is. My favourite band of all time by far. https://youtu.be/xNhn1KOqq8g
Definitely AC/DC sounding. Brian and Angus were on Good Morning Football and asked to describe American Football and they said Herman Munster-like Star Wars Gladiators that probably eat raw meat at halftime. Pretty close. And like the guys on the program said, Thunderstruck gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Many regrets that I wasn't able to see them in Moncton back in 2015.
So, apparently those fucking idiots were so jizzed about the wretched leaf signing worn out 3rd liner Wayne Simmonds that they forgot they had Kevin Shattenkirk waiting on the line. Now don't get me wrong, I always thought Wayne Simmonds would be a good fit on the Habs but not any more. I'm glad he turned bergy down to go 'home'. At least he won't 'Clarkson' or 'Horton' the leaf payroll but that's about it.
Canadian rookie Chase Claypool scored four touchdowns, including the clincher with 2:59 remaining, and the Pittsburgh Steelers remained unbeaten with a 38-29 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Had a great traditional TG feast of the usual. You cannot beat a brined turkey for keeping it juicy and not drying out. If you've never done this, I urge you to try it.
Too fucking funny. Once again Montreal gets played by a high end UFA. I think in the future any Habs GM should tell those player's agents to just fuck off, we're not playing your stupid game anymore.
According to Hall's agent, the Habs never offered Taylor a contract. That's fine. I wouldn't have offered him more than 2 years or $6mil per. Too many miles on him now. If bergy wants to upgrade his scoring make another trade. Good luck Taylor in Barfalo, that organization is nearly as fucked up as Arizona. LOL!
Good signing with the 4.25 aav. One of those guys that had a couple of really productive years in Junior that didn't translate the same way to the big leagues, but maybe another guy that can pot 20 per season. And while not huge, no pushover for sure. Strange thing is how yet another Tronna kid ends up in Montreal?
The arm pump! Everyone did it during our pick up games and everyone instantly knew who you were. Gotta say it never really helped but it looked pretty cool!
Haha leaffools missing out on Pietrangelo (as if they ever had a chance)...but they got the guy they really wanted in Bogosian...and some Boyd guy.
Credit to MB and his team. We might not have that 40 goal guy we wanted (and really there are only 10-12 of those in the league), but maybe if the 2 new forwards can combine for 50 plus add some grit and play at both ends of the ice, this team is a solid playoff team. One thing we gotta remember is all this is banking on our two 20/21 year old centres not regressing, but rather continuing to improve.
All the leafools and tronna media fanboy hacks want you to believe that every big name UFA wants to play there. Until they don't. I'm pretty sure a smart agent will recall the 'Larry Murphy effect' and tell their client to avoid that shithole like the plague.
The leafools will tell you they still have the better team because tavares matthews marner but how may goals did they score against Columbus again? Yeah, I thought so. For the first time in years, I'm actually looking forward to the new season starting. Hope I'm not disappointed.
SO I hope that you all had a happy turkeyfest. I hear the stores all sold out of medium to small birds as no one had huge crowds coming over for dinner. Same at Christmas I suspect. Over here, we celebrated with chicken breasts and stuffing. My kids really look forward to "Canadian Thanksgiving" each year.
SO Habs finally spent to the Cap and appear to have picked up some serious size, if nothing else. Dosh and Top Titty are cool names to go with Alain and the draft choices...SO the future looks like it will be at least slightly tougher to play against the Habs. Hopefully they can score a few more goals. Are they really still expecting to play a full schedule in empty arenas in only a half dozen cities? Cause despite what the mericans want us to think, 'rona ain't going anywhere any time soon. The fucking UK is slowly locking itself down and as more catch it and more die around the world, more mericans will try convincing themselves it's still a hoax. Christiano Ronaldo now has Covid apparently and I expect half the NFL...so who the F knows...Stay safe and wear a MASK...
Maybe it's that I'm over 50 and like to stay home, but even 20 something me would think staying home makes sense. WTF is wrong with people? Why is it so hard to avoid large gatherings...and if you MUST have large gatherings, put on a effin mask. Hey don't get me wrong, if all those Trumpeteers want to spread covid around to each other, fine by me but the problem is they eventually will be in contact with somebody innocent and pass it on to them. And you know, the best analogy I've heard yet about Trump walking around maskless after he's tested positive is from Michael Che on SNL saying it's like when you hear about a really bad car accident and the only survivor is the drunk driver. Wear a MASK indeed!
LMAO (and if I may), and the drunk driver had the best airbag and seatbelt, but his passengers did not, plus he was going way over the speed limit -- to make it to his hair and make-up session on time.
I've been an SNL fan since day 1. They had some seriously bad years but have bounced back. Che has a pretty dark sense of humour but for me Kate McKinnon is a genial comedienne. The problem, still, with SNL is the skits go on way too long. Jim Carrey as Biden is a cool add-on this season. Also, Jack White shredded so fucking hard on Saturday !
So Toffoli gets to keep his 73 (first Hab since Michael Ryder I think). I wonder if he looked up to Ryder as a youngster in Scarborough, when Mikey was sticking it to the Laffs 20 years ago?
I so love it when the SFU mediots get egg on their faces. They had KidG all but shipped out of town. Signing Gallagher was a lot easier than the two overrated primadonnas in tranna, wee willie and midget marner.
Decent contract, he's definitely worth more than The Floater. Speaking of Drouin he could end up being the one moved out. I think Colorado would be a great spot for him.
Welp, with this latest signing bergy has finally emerged form Philene's bargain basement and started shopping at Tiffany's!
I was only giving him £6m x 5 with a huge bonus - But mine was in Sterling so I was being more generous!! This is a great signing and with Alain locked up for another 3, things are looking good.
This was put on Twitter showing what the SFU talking heads know, especially fat fried-man...
.@FriedgeHNIC: When MTL signed Anderson to that extension, I had a feeling it was going to be trouble. When you go outside your team, its going to burn someone on the inside. They’re going to say “I bled for you & you’re giving that guy money?” I think that’s how Gallagher feels.
And a 2 year extension for Jake the Snake. Bergy is on fire! Not sure if this is a real keeper or if it's for the Kraken draft, but either way I love it.
I recall when young Joe Thornton was Broons' captain, and was thoroughly out-classed by our Captain Saku in the playoffs (2003-04?) with Theodore back-stopping them in the first round. Cherry was so pissed. Good times.
I wonder what the Vegas bookies have set the over under at for the number of 'Jumbo Joe'stories we can find on the SFU sites between now and New Years? Iz'd guess around 19.5. Hey bright side at least it shouldn't cost them a first round pick to get rid of this ex Shark.
Joe Thornton on why he picked the laffs to sign with: "I need to win a Stanley Cup." Well, that's just too fucking funny for words. I hope you are planning on playing until you're 50 Joe.
Well, the Browns are good relatively speaking. They are not as bad as they were the last couple of seasons and they are not New York teams bad. But, they ain't good enough to win in Pittsburgh.
I think my O/U of 19.5 will be quite low. While I have never read a Kristen 'leaf schill' Schilton article before, I was curious what did Joe Montana say to Thornton? And we don't know because there is not one single quote in the article titled Thornton reached out to football great Montana before picking Leafs Makes no sense since Montana was traded, he didnt choose the Chiefs. Makes sense though since Joe Cool didn't win shit in KC, just like Jumbo Joe will do in tronna.
Uh...hang on a sec...Cowboys fan here...I don't much follow the NFL these days as it's often hard to figure out if the UK is broadcasting games on delay or in some cases the next day, etc...but growing up in the Laurentians meant I was fed the Bills, the Giants and the Cowboys every week...sorry guys but Roger Staubach, Too Tall Jones, Randy White, Tony Dorset - they were my first NFL heroes as a kid... But I know...it was a long time ago....so I went there...
I probably saw Ghoul play here in Halifax at the Memorial Cup. Only game I saw was Guelph vs Prince Albert. Went to see Nature Boy and he didn't disappoint with 2 goals. Turns out Ghoul would have been in that game too. Even if I don't recall, that's cool.
Too late for me to see the end of that game. Just as well. Daniel Jones = J. Drouin aka Turnover Machine. Bottom line, the NY Giants are fucking terrible but I'm not as emotionally invested in them as I am my beloved Habs. However, the Habs, as good as they look on paper will not be as good on the ice. They need a better, newer coach. The present coach should retire for health reasons. That is all.
Eesh, these Patriots are hard to watch. I'm sure you guys are all beat up about that. Everybody screaming on social media to put Stidham in. Puts Stidham in and throws a pick right away. Cam looks awful though so yeah give the kid a shot.
And it's looking like I've left a win on the bench in Fantasy. Too bad, my opponent is sucking, I'm just sucking more. At 2-5 it will be time to go into sell mode
So, which is the worse team in the NFL, the Giants or the Jets? It's a toss-up, the only reason the NYG have one win is 'cause Ron Rivera made a bad call at the end of the game. Okay, I have to go research who is the best QB available in this year's Draft. My team should get a shot at him...
Unless Gettleman is a complete moron there should be no hesitation. Even with a new QB, they will still be bad for years. The whole team is bloody awful.
I mean, you can vote for whoever you want, but don't use your celebrity status to endorse a political candidate, that's trying to influence other people to vote how you want.
Craig Rivet, the gift that keeps on giving ...
ReplyDeleteAlzner bought out.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to him.
Soooo looooong Karl...we hardly knew ya...although I do respect the dignity you showed went sent to Laval. Good luck to yA.

DeleteDomini traded for Josh Anderson of Columbus.
ReplyDeleteHe’s been on way out since the season ending presser where BBBthrew him, Tie and the hole clan under the bus.
DeleteIt's not Laine but Anderson is by all accounts big and fast. It's a start. Hey, maybe bergy will trade Turnover Machine back to Tampa for Stamkos.
DeleteI am happy with Anderson but fuck Domi got treated like shit for no reason. Fucking annoying
Deletep.s Hi Everyone! Hope you're well and you and your families are healthy and safe.
ReplyDeleteRight back at ya !

ReplyDeleteSucks I really liked Domi and agree he has the talent and was misused this season. Bonus leaf fans that were all butthurt because we had a Domi.
ReplyDeleteJosh Anderson doesn't seem like a very sexy acquisition, bit I really don't know that much about him.

DeleteI think my O/U of 19.5 will be quite low.
ReplyDeleteYa just hate to see the cowboys losing.
ReplyDelete...said nobody ever.
DeleteUh...hang on a sec...Cowboys fan here...I don't much follow the NFL these days as it's often hard to figure out if the UK is broadcasting games on delay or in some cases the next day, etc...but growing up in the Laurentians meant I was fed the Bills, the Giants and the Cowboys every week...sorry guys but Roger Staubach, Too Tall Jones, Randy White, Tony Dorset - they were my first NFL heroes as a kid... But I know...it was a long time ago....so I went there...
Delete3 year entry level deal for the Ghoul.
ReplyDeleteNot bad for an 18 year old kid even if he's 'only' earning $80K playing in the AHL.
The kid has been getting nice reviews.
DeleteLots to look forward to if hockey resumes before BBQ and TFS age out...
DeleteI probably saw Ghoul play here in Halifax at the Memorial Cup. Only game I saw was Guelph vs Prince Albert. Went to see Nature Boy and he didn't disappoint with 2 goals. Turns out Ghoul would have been in that game too. Even if I don't recall, that's cool.
ReplyDeleteCool.
DeleteI always enjoyed seeing/hearing him, RIP Amazing Randi.
ReplyDeleteShit, we lost a great voice and cool rocker; https://youtu.be/TyZrK9meebo
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace Spencer Davis.
RIP Spencer Davis
DeleteWAIT!? Spencer Davis is white?
DeleteRIP, great voice on that man.
Good luck the M. If you can't beat the Eagles with 90% of their offence missing...picked up your kicker for the week. Lots of FGs, let's go!
ReplyDeleteDaniel Jones run = ouf.
ReplyDeleteG-men = ouf.
ReplyDeleteToo late for me to see the end of that game.
ReplyDeletemoe's Steelers have a horseshoe up their arse. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah !
DeleteEesh, these Patriots are hard to watch. I'm sure you guys are all beat up about that.
ReplyDeleteEverybody screaming on social media to put Stidham in.
DeleteTrade you Daniel Jones for Newton...
DeleteAhhh no thanks lol.
DeleteSo, which is the worse team in the NFL, the Giants or the Jets? It's a toss-up, the only reason the NYG have one win is 'cause Ron Rivera made a bad call at the end of the game. Okay, I have to go research who is the best QB available in this year's Draft. My team should get a shot at him...
ReplyDeleteWell, well lookee here...
ReplyDelete1.Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson (6-6, 220 pounds) ...
2. Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State (6-3, 233 pounds) ...
3. Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State (6-3, 225 pounds) ...
We're getting one of these guys!
I've watched a couple of Clemson games. That kid is a beast and I would say the real deal. Hope your management is ready to move on from their bust.
DeleteUnless Gettleman is a complete moron there should be no hesitation. Even with a new QB, they will still be bad for years. The whole team is bloody awful.
DeleteRest In Peace Joey Moss.
ReplyDelete( I have a younger brother, similarly handicapped, who turns 57 in November. Dude has the same effect on everyone that meets him. )
gCHuk is now a sena-turd. I wonder if his dad is coming with him? Or his sister? Didn't 29 meet her one time?
ReplyDeleteBobby Whore has endorsed the trumpet.
ReplyDeleteHe's clearly gone full beaner
What a sad sad thing
RIP
Go Habs
And I see Jack Nicklaus has as well...

I mean, you can vote for whoever you want, but don't use your celebrity status to endorse a political candidate, that's trying to influence other people to vote how you want.
DeleteI've lost a lot of respect for those two men.
Moe-vember thread coming soon.
ReplyDeleteSend KitKats and Coffee Crisps.
