As a Master's winner Mike is invited to play the Masters each year. Shot a -1 yesterday, better than the three younger Canadians. Would love to see him make it to the weekend. So does anyone else here feel that the Habs should never play in a sweater that is predominately leaf Blue? I see Buttman is making new shit up again and they have come up with a "retro" jersey for selected games (Take a big fucking guess which team will play the Habs when they deem it time to don the Retro jersey!) I've seen the pics - I fucking absolutely hate it. End of. Never a Habs sweater - Non non non!
Just saw those and don't know what to think. They did wear all those classic sweaters in their centennial season, including the blue one with the 'C' on it. From the one picture I saw, it at least seems like a vastly different blue compared to the shitty leaf blue. But that's one pic on my computer. Anyway, I vowed not to spend money on any Habs merchandise until they were respectable. I even returned a jersey that Mrs Pad bought me for Christmas a few years back. We're getting there but let's just say at this point there is no fear of me buying one of these sweaters.
How's everyone holding up these days? We've had an outbreak here in Saint John and have gone back to single family bubbles for the next while, 4-6 weeks would be my guess. Looks like Christmas dinner will be just the three of us this year. Oh well, better times are ahead hopefully.
I hear you! Other than the grocery store I'm done going any where for a while. Funny, I bought ribs, burgers and Fruit Loops yesterday. Oh, and Teachers scotch, Amaretto and Moosehead beer!
I love that the SFU continue to believe in their team. It's all the sweeter when the inevitable collapse occurs in the first round...if they make the playoffs. Though I'm sure old man Thornton and a 5 years past his best before date Wayne Simmonds will make all the difference. Defence, Schmeefence.
RIP Diego Maradonna. May the Hand of God be with you once again.
Well we're in for another total shut down as of midnight in NS Halifax region. I guess I'll never understand people's desire/need to go out to bars/restaurants/etc during a pandemic. I was in a location on Friday at lunch which was deemed a 'potential exposure site' and I've shut myself down for 2 weeks. Not meeting colleagues, not going shopping, staying home. Pretty certain I'm safe as I literally walked through the space in question without stopping, but I consider myself a decent human so will take all precautions.
Countrymen! Been busy busy busy working from home. We're all well here and I hope you all are too. I recall Son Volt making a big impression on some of you, so in these days of thin gruel for our local songsters, thought I'd drop jimbryson.org on y'all (House of Strombo link on there as well). Jim is a fine singer-songwriter. He once slept on my floor when his old band the Occasionals came through town in the 90s. He's a family man now in Stittsville, ON. Helluva talented rootsy guitarist. One of the songs he did with Kathleen Edwards here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhQxuBgoksY
If the NHL plays and they keep all the Canadian teams in Canada - the only realistic way I can see it happening, I wouldn't consider it a proper season - more of a "novelty due to Covid" situation. I don't really think it's sustainable for the owners to run it without any fans. But and as interesting as it might be to play the Jets, the Oilers, 'nucks and Flames 10 times in a row, I don't see it as a proper test of who are the best teams in the NHL. The league is about the best of the best. The strongest, the hardest to play against, overcoming the travel and the crowds in the arenas setting the atmosphere and mood for each game. The Habs have rivalries in Boston, Philly and Chicago, not to mention Florida. The Americans could give a shit about covid, which is essentially the biggest problem the world of sports is facing. The NHL needs them to care or the virus ain't going anywhere anytime soon. Good luck immunizing 300M people this side of 2024 too...
The SFU and Rogers are giddy at the thought of their team mowing through a weak Canadian division (see, their team is by far the strongest of all Canadian teams in case you haven't been reading up on the situation) straight to the Stanley Cup final. They will do whatever necessary to make this a reality (the season that is). But in 'actual' reality, I'd place them 3rd at best in an all-Canadian division.
I read about the SFU 'prediction' in Eyes on the Prize. One commenter nailed it when they said the so-called 'journalists' on that site are basically Rogers, hence leaf shills. They will shovel leaf shit into the gta to get clicks and readers. I deleted sportsnet off my desktop months ago. I don't even read Engels anymore as he is a Rogers shill as well though I can understand why since he'd probably like to keep his job. Fair enough but I won't read it. I only go to known Habs sites nowadays.
I intentionally didn't reference the leaf because...well...fuck 'em - they are irrelevant as far as hockey is concerned. The Sens ommission was a mistake on my part...I suppose I just assumed that without any paying fans, they would fold...
Ha Ha Ha!! the torontosportsnetwork is rehashing the Patrick Roy trade on it's pathetic site. Like 'Evil Bergy' on Twitter said: the Canadiens live rent free in toronto, especially in leafool minds. Go back to discussing how great all of Dumbass' moves are and how your leaf will sweep through the proposed Canadian division like a juggernaut. Dream on suckers! 1967!!
They are going to be so bad with all the old-timers and castoffs they signed. It's hilarious. Remember long ago during the Ballard years when they (leaf) got themselves transferred to a weak-ass division just so they could get into the playoffs --- with a losing record!!
Hey FHFriends! Hope everyone is doing well and hunkered down. We are almost through this I hope and pray with the arrival of vaccines. Just stay away from North Dakota they are almost at herd immunity!
Here's hoping the Juniors can pull off a tournament safely and then maybe, just maybe the NHL can follow suit and we can watch some hockey to get us through the winter months. In the meantime, we have watched Season 4 of The Crown and are currently plowing through Cobra Kai which isn't too bad. I'm not sure how you go from a white belt to a black belt in just a month or so but whatever. It's kind of fun watching Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence renew their rivalry after 30 odd years. Cheers!
Hey moe, a new thread would be cool, moe-vember is over!
Seniors in LTC will probably be #1 along with their care givers. Then doctors and nurses for sure. Even though I am now a senior I'm willing to wait for a while. I'll wear my mask for some time yet and observe all the protocols well into 2021.
Yeah, that (now former) anthem singer was always a dick anyway. I always muted he tv when he sang the anthem in Van City.
I think Hockey Canada wants to pull off the World Juniors, even without fans that tournament pulls in huge ad money plus big broadcast funds form the SFU channel.
Hey fellow FHFers, hope you are all well and safe. moe, happy to see you're working on a thread. I was thinking I should pull my weight around here but I'll leave that in your ultra capable hands.
Not sure they should be playing but I'm happy to see football still going. Be a shame for the Steelers with their unbeaten season going the way it is. I wouldn't put money on it but I wouldn't be surprised to see them upset this week. Speaking of upsets, the m's Giants taking the Seahawks to the limit up by5 with 2 left as I write this. Watching that game since the Pats currently lead 38-0...and my dreams of sneaking into my fantasy playoffs have finally died.
I'm torn with the hockey thing. The selfish part of me wants a season and Juniors. The logical part says nobody should be working at a non essential job, especially when there is close and very physical contact involved. And how that potentially impacts the families of those players. But it's their decision and if they drop the puck, I'll be there!
It won't be easy for some but we all gotta restrict holiday gatherings, keep wearing masks, only go out for essentials, stay the blazes home, and hopefully by next summer we're back to some form of normal.
Just helped my daughter and her boyfriend buy a house in Ottawa. Hope they can manage from here out and I hope travel restrictions are opened up in the summer so I can take a drive up for a visit and whilst there buy our friend moe a drink (or 3).
What a day for my teams! First, Liverpool FC with a nice win and then my Giants pulling off the Giant-sized upset over a contender in Seattle. The Giants D was spectacular all day. Now, if moe's Steelers do what they are supposed to, the Giants should win the NFC East. Props to journeyman QB Colt McCoy (great name btw) in picking up an important win.
As for hockey, if the Juniors can pull off the bubble like the NHL did back in the summer, more power to them. As for the NHL, if the NFL, NBA and MLB can pull it off so can they. Keep the fans away and we'll watch on TV.
VGK trying to trade Patches. Betcha they'd love to have Nature Boy back. Well too bad suckers! I imagine if Max had his druthers he'd like to go to his boyhood team, the Rags.
I started watching Cobra Kai and was pleasantly surprised. Spoiler ahead...Now I'm no martial arts expert like my esteemed Maritimer counterpart, but I do question how a bunch of rejects with 2-3 months (I'm guessing on the timeframe) of 'training' could win a major event like that. But hey it's good fun and I'm really enjoying Johnny's character. But man, if those guys would just sit down and talk...
It's a cute show, I'm actually cheering for Johnny's character as he tries to put his life on the right path and separate himself from the old Cobra Kai dojo. Lots of teenage angst and drama as well.
I've learned to let go of the Hollywood version of karate and their time compression for actual training. Yes, the tournament victory was farcical as not only Miguel but Robby both show up wearing black belts after only weeks of 'training'. In real life that will get you a yellow belt. In any respectable dojo, it's 2-3 years to get to sho dan (1st black belt).
Oh yeah, I was going to say watching Cobra Kai had me wondering if this would become a trend and what other movie franchise might they turn into a series...lo and behold it's the Mighty Ducks. Networks love a recipe.
Yes, him as well. In a wordplay on his name, somebody pranked SFU puppet Craig Button asking him about a player named 'Lik Mysak'. Button fell for it, saying he hadn't heard of that player. LOL!
Well, that was fugly. Giants D did all they could. Daniel Jones should have been sat out, he was absolutely terrible. If he was still injured all he did was hurt his team's chances to win the division. Joe Judge needed to step in there.
Rough week for all our football teams fellas. But I'm moving on in the playoffs of my fantasy league! Well it's the consolation round, but the consolation winner gets $20 and more importantly the most lottery balls for the 2021 draft. It's a good way to keep the interest up and keep trying to put in a lineup.
I wasn't going to mention anything about it but it's been on my mind for days and it hits close to home. RIP to the 6 souls who went down in their scallop boat last Tuesday morning. My father and both grandfathers fished the Bay of Fundy their whole lives. My youngest brother goes occasionally still on scallop draggers and when I heard about the incident I immediately thought of him. Fortunately, he had come in from a trip a day or two before. He would have known most of those men, it's a small community. What a sad week it's been.
Well no playoff football for my Pats for the first time in 12 years or so. That's fine, I hope they reboot the offence in the off season. Doesn't look like Cam is the answer, but I suspect guys like Wnntz and Darnold to be available and maybe one of those top3 QBs will be available at 12 or so. And should be some quality WRs available.
Surfing around between games today and I see tsn with a Top 50 Defensive Plays of ALL TIME for all sports. I tune in out of curiosity and at they are at #25. It is the only play by a forward blocking shots from the point in hockey (at least in the top 25).
Can you guess which legendary defensive forward this might be? I know there are a lot of those plays from ALL time to consider...
Ha ha ha. Those bozos have no credibility. Zero. Nada.
tsn and sportsnet on my 'no watch' list regarding NHL hockey. I'll watch the junior tournament and I'm sure I'll be fully informed on all future leaf superstars.
I'm still holding out hope that the Giants can slip in, Washington opened the door a crack this afternoon. We'll see.
Beyond a joke or a parody. I saw some poll that had them going 42-8-6 for the 56 game season in the Canada league..such a load of shit. Everyone behind them at +- 500 (30 points or so behind the leaf). They got covid on the brain.
May it be negative. I am still suffering what I call COVID Flashbacks at kesst once a week, where a symptom suddenly re-emerges, like shortness of breath, kilker headache, crazy-sore legs, or flat-out fatigue. Not fun. --SiM
*Least, not kesst. And also, the wife is getting slaughtered at work with so many injured and incapscitsted nurses. Our healthcare system is at a breaking point. They tolk her vacation away, made her go to full-time hours against her will, and might shudgle her off to far-flung points of la Belle Province at a m9ment's notice to cover for short-stsffing in the rrgions. Unlkke Wave #1, not much love being shown to the pummelled personnel at the front lines. Legault and his "anges"; Ford and his BS. It's a shit show in our hospitsls, and these premiers need to own it. --SiM
@SiM, I feel bad for your wife. The front line workers in Quebec and Ontario are in tough and as moe likes to say, it will probably get worse before it gets better. I would like to plant a seed. The Atlantic provinces are probably the safest and least inundated with COVID patients in the country. Horizon Health and Vitalite (francophone) are always looking to hire. There is a story on CBC/NB about a young family from Toronto who bought a house with ocean view (on-line) for $100k and moved to Saint John from Toronto where they were paying $1500 per month rent for a tiny one room apartment. They love it here. Check it out. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/pandemic-movers-ontario-families-nb-1.5846030
It's tempting, the M. I have a friend who settled in Tyne Valley, PE - of course being in avoonics, he still lives near Mirabel, QC 75% of the time. The wife hasn't got a BA, do we can't switch provinces too easily. Plus my job is tied to Laval. Plus family, here and in the Eastrn Townships. So it goes.--SiM
The Bungles are giving moe's Steelers a run for it tonight.
I finished watching the Giants game from last night, they need help on offence. They and the Jets are the two lowest scoring teams in the NFL. The NYG need good receivers, maybe one of those UFA's Saint Paddy was talking about. And they need a healthy Saquon Barkley for a complete season.
Tough night for your team Moe. Def a missed PI call on that last drive but that stuff happens all the time. But you'll have playoff football so I can't say anything...
Just to add to the SFU networks plethora of crimes against the RoC sporting community, any hockey story usually as a sidebar link: How does this affect the leaf? I wish I could answer: We don't give a fuck!
So here's an example: "@EricEngels examines how the taxi squad will likely have an impact on the @CanadiensMTL's day-to-day management."
How does this affect the leaf, as in, how does this affect Austin Matthew's daily bowel movement? What brand of toilet paper will he use? leafools need to know!
The Montreal Canadiens sign forward Michael Frolik to a one year deal. How does this affect the wretched leaf and auston matthews' fantasy football team?
If I recall correctly, the last couple of years the Habs have struggled against Edmonton the most. The rest of the teams, pfff, they don't scare me. Especially the putrid leaf.
Ottawa - rebuilding Winnipeg - didn't shore up their D, have good forwards and good goalie Calgary - decent team, tough, stole Vancouver's goalie Vancouver - some really good young players, probably a bit inexperienced, lost their #1 goalie Edmonton - 2 superstar forwards, speed speed and more speed. Weak D and goalie. They are a handful. Montreal- It will depend on Nature and KK. If they are successful the Habs can compete and if Anderson and Toffoli can score. Solid D and solid goaltending. leaf - soft as wet cow dung, no backbone, poor D and shaky goaltending. The league tried to help them out with two final games at the Scotia mausoleum. The SFU will tell their followers to plan the parade but they will be lucky to finish in the top 4.
Hope everyone is doing OK.

I have 3 golf experiences;
In the late 1990s some friends bought me lessons, it was filmed, I sucked, it was funny footage.
I played in a 4some at Montebello, corporate event, we won. I got a nice leather jacket.
I was entertained to join a very risqué/raunchy golf event with every 4some accompanied by a very lovely caddy. I cannot remember the game.
This games are usually the most fun! Hehehehehe...

Steelers are definitely a threat. Can Big Ben hold up? As crazy as it sounds, a team with a losing record could win the NFC East!
ReplyDeleteSo does anyone else here feel that the Habs should never play in a sweater that is predominately leaf Blue? I see Buttman is making new shit up again and they have come up with a "retro" jersey for selected games (Take a big fucking guess which team will play the Habs when they deem it time to don the Retro jersey!) I've seen the pics - I fucking absolutely hate it. End of. Never a Habs sweater - Non non non!
ReplyDeleteJust saw those and don't know what to think.
DeleteWe're getting there but let's just say at this point there is no fear of me buying one of these sweaters.
@Saint Paddy, I took the same vow, I won't even buy a pack of hockey cards and I told Mrs. TheM to not buy merchandise either.
DeleteNot a fan of the mostly blue. I read its suppose to be a reverse of the 1976 jersey, style wise.
Deletehttps://sports.cbsimg.net/images/nhl/blog/073113_habstop.jpg
Otherwise, the leaf one is truly even more putrid !
Pretty much just a money grab... can't really blame them the pandemic and all. I wouldn't buy a blue Jersey either. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteHow's everyone holding up these days? We've had an outbreak here in Saint John and have gone back to single family bubbles for the next while, 4-6 weeks would be my guess. Looks like Christmas dinner will be just the three of us this year. Oh well, better times are ahead hopefully.
ReplyDeleteIts bad all over. Just stay in.
DeleteOrdered some ribs and burgers and Mr. Puffs last night.
I hear you! Other than the grocery store I'm done going any where for a while. Funny, I bought ribs, burgers and Fruit Loops yesterday. Oh, and Teachers scotch, Amaretto and Moosehead beer!
Delete... and I was gifted some Eldorado 12 !
DeleteThe SFU want you to believe their putrid leaf would be the best team in an all Canadian division but the numbers say otherwise.
ReplyDelete2019/20 Canadian teams vs other Canadian teams record:
1. WPG - 9-3-0 - 18 PTS .750
2. MTL - 10-3-2 - 22 PTS .733
3. TOR - 7-3-4 - 18 PTS .643
4. CGY - 8-5-1 - 17 PTS .607
5. EDM - 7-7-1 - 15 PTS .500
6. OTT - 4-7-3 - 11 PTS .392
7. VAN - 5-10-0 - 10 PTS .333
DeleteRIP Diego Maradonna. May the Hand of God be with you once again.
ReplyDeleteWell we're in for another total shut down as of midnight in NS Halifax region.
What an amazing athlete and entertainer.
DeleteI loved watching him.
He burnt himself out but lived a 'miraculous' life.
Rest in Peace Diego.
ReplyDeleteCool. Will check it out.
DeleteNYG first in the NFC (L)east! Cowboys and Eagles are crap and the G-Men own the tie-breaker against Washington, I like their chances.
ReplyDeleteSaint Paddy's Pats can't catch the Bills, wild card maybe?
moe's Steelers might get to play again this year if they can stay out of the bars... heh heh.
Damn Covid !
DeleteI want an undefeated and complete season.
As long as one member of the 1972 Dolphins is still alive, no team will ever go undefeated again. My Giants will see to it. :)
DeleteAnybody here think the NHL will play this season?
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the juniors can pull off a tournament. Some hockey would be nice.
ReplyDeleteThe Atlantic bubble has burst, The Maritimes QMJHL teams may have to go to a bubble in the New Year to resume play. I bet on Moncton being the place.
ReplyDeleteThe SFU and Rogers are giddy at the thought of their team mowing through a weak Canadian division (see, their team is by far the strongest of all Canadian teams in case you haven't been reading up on the situation) straight to the Stanley Cup final. They will do whatever necessary to make this a reality (the season that is). But in 'actual' reality, I'd place them 3rd at best in an all-Canadian division.
DeleteI read about the SFU 'prediction' in Eyes on the Prize.
DeleteI intentionally didn't reference the leaf because...well...fuck 'em - they are irrelevant as far as hockey is concerned. The Sens ommission was a mistake on my part...I suppose I just assumed that without any paying fans, they would fold...
DeleteHa Ha Ha!! the torontosportsnetwork is rehashing the Patrick Roy trade on it's pathetic site. 1967!!
ReplyDeleteThey sound desperate.
DeleteThe leaf likes gimmicks, so forcing a Canadian division is nothing new. Funny thing is regardless of division they remain losers.
ReplyDeleteThey are going to be so bad with all the old-timers and castoffs they signed. It's hilarious. Remember long ago during the Ballard years when they (leaf) got themselves transferred to a weak-ass division just so they could get into the playoffs --- with a losing record!!
DeleteHey, I get to watch my Steelers this afternoon !
ReplyDeleteDuring work? : )
DeleteSssh ...
DeleteThat was some 1st half.
ReplyDeleteI fucking hate collingsworth as much as he hates the Steelers.
He's an ex-Bengal isn't he? Makes sense I guess.
ReplyDeleteHey FHFriends! Hope everyone is doing well and hunkered down. We are almost through this I hope and pray with the arrival of vaccines. Just stay away from North Dakota they are almost at herd immunity!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the Juniors can pull off a tournament safely and then maybe, just maybe the NHL can follow suit and we can watch some hockey to get us through the winter months. Cheers!
Hey theM.
DeleteI'll have a pre-Xmas thread up soon.
I hope/expect front-liners and first responders, then LTC to get the vaccine.
I expect my work to have it available to us via our on-campus assessment and health centre.
Having hockey would be good. I'd prefer the Jrs be cancelled as the current timing and cases are not good.
As theM. says, stay safe, take care and be good.
Oh and fuck that Canucks anthem singer.
Hey moe, a new thread would be cool, moe-vember is over!
DeleteSeniors in LTC will probably be #1 along with their care givers.
ReplyDeleteHey fellow FHFers, hope you are all well and safe. moe, happy to see you're working on a thread. I was thinking I should pull my weight around here but I'll leave that in your ultra capable hands.
ReplyDeleteNot sure they should be playing but I'm happy to see football still going.
DeleteIt won't be easy for some but we all gotta restrict holiday gatherings, keep wearing masks, only go out for essentials, stay the blazes home, and hopefully by next summer we're back to some form of normal.
Just helped my daughter and her boyfriend buy a house in Ottawa. Hope they can manage from here out and I hope travel restrictions are opened up in the summer so I can take a drive up for a visit and whilst there buy our friend moe a drink (or 3).
Take care all. Stay safe.
Working on it !
DeleteWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a day for my teams!
Pretty quiet around here. Someone is probably gearing up to watch the Steelers today...
ReplyDeleteOh yeah!
DeleteFuck jeremy jacobs and his dirty cheating bruins. Take julien with you while your at it.
ReplyDeleteWTF! Did he do now ?
DeleteDoesn't want to pay the players. Cheapskate skinflint motherfucker.
DeleteGO STEELERS!
ReplyDeleteYou’ve got to admit they are fun to watch.
DeleteThey are pretty good, you better hope they don't flame out early. That fucking horn is annoying.
DeleteOTOH, the Giants are on a roll, 5-2 in their last 7 games. They could be giant killers.... pun intended.
DeleteYou East coast FHFers seeing snow ?
ReplyDeleteNothing in southern NB, they got some up north on the weekend.
DeleteDeserved loss. Learn a lesson PIT.
ReplyDeleteGuess I should have gone with my gut and put money on it after all. Pressure of a perfect season is gone now they can just play ball.
DeleteWow! I step away for a bit to watch the Umbrella Academy and this happens? I guess it's true, any given Sunday. Or Monday I guess.
Delete4 day rest vs. 10 for the team with no name. Oh well.
DeleteConversely, wouldn't PIT have had a long rest for the previous game waiting for the Ravens to get better? Does that factor in? I don't know.
DeleteLooks like the Jets will be getting the #1 pick, wow are they ever terrible.
Good point.
DeleteAm I the only one horrified by this?

Golden calf never gets killed.
DeleteFunny how the only team worth mentioning in their headline at tsn regarding team values is the fucking leaf.
ReplyDeleteSFU
DeleteFunny... But hardly surprising... 😒
DeleteVGK trying to trade Patches. Betcha they'd love to have Nature Boy back. Well too bad suckers! I imagine if Max had his druthers he'd like to go to his boyhood team, the Rags.
ReplyDeleteI started watching Cobra Kai and was pleasantly surprised.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cute show, I'm actually cheering for Johnny's character as he tries to put his life on the right path and separate himself from the old Cobra Kai dojo. Lots of teenage angst and drama as well.
DeleteI've learned to let go of the Hollywood version of karate and their time compression for actual training.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Cole Caufield, on making the US juniors' team for the World Cup.
ReplyDeleteAlso to Kaiden Guhle for making Team Canada. It will be good to watch some high-end hockey again.
DeleteAnd I think I read another prospect (Myzak?) made the Czech team. Always good to be able to see these guys play at this level.
DeleteYes, him as well. In a wordplay on his name, somebody pranked SFU puppet Craig Button asking him about a player named 'Lik Mysak'. Button fell for it, saying he hadn't heard of that player. LOL!
DeleteRIP Charley Pride. Heard his music a lot at my Grandmother's house when I was a young lad. Fuck Covid.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad's favourite singer. Rest in Peace Mr. pride.
DeleteLET'S GO GIANTS!!
ReplyDeleteSTEELERS v. BUF should be fun.
DeleteGiants better wake the fuck up soon.
ReplyDeleteWell, that was fugly. Giants D did all they could. Daniel Jones should have been sat out, he was absolutely terrible. If he was still injured all he did was hurt his team's chances to win the division. Joe Judge needed to step in there.
ReplyDeleteBe better PIT. (Bills are damn good).
ReplyDeleteRough week for all our football teams fellas. But I'm moving on in the playoffs of my fantasy league! Well it's the consolation round, but the consolation winner gets $20 and more importantly the most lottery balls for the 2021 draft. It's a good way to keep the interest up and keep trying to put in a lineup.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to mention anything about it but it's been on my mind for days and it hits close to home.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to the families. Only one body has been found the others may never and probably won't be.
DeleteSad indeed the M. Always a danger and worry anytime fishers hit the open sea. RIP and same here for condolences to the families.
DeleteGlad to hear your bro is safe and sound. What a hard time of year for those families.
DeleteWow, the sad shit some have to live through.
DeleteRest In Peace all.
ReplyDeleteIn Free agency for the WRs...
DeleteSurfing around between games today and I see tsn with a Top 50 Defensive Plays of ALL TIME for all sports. I tune in out of curiosity and at they are at #25. It is the only play by a forward blocking shots from the point in hockey (at least in the top 25).
ReplyDeleteCan you guess which legendary defensive forward this might be? I know there are a lot of those plays from ALL time to consider...
The answer:
DeleteBob Gainey? Nope.
...
...
...
Guy Carbonneau? Nope.
...
...
...
...
Pavel Datsyuk? Nope.
...
...
...
Patrice Bergeron perhaps? Nay.
...
...
...
I'm sure you've correctly guessed...
Mighty.
Mitch.
Marner!
Ha ha ha. Those bozos have no credibility. Zero. Nada.
Deletetsn and sportsnet on my 'no watch' list regarding NHL hockey.
DeleteHow fucked up is the SFU ?
DeleteYAY!!! Colt McCoy is starting!!
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace Kevin Green.
ReplyDeleteGreene.
DeleteSafari now working fine on iPad in blogger.
ReplyDeleteOfficially on vacation. Had some last minute things to do, including a CV19 test today. Results soon.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for you brother!
DeleteMay it be negative. I am still suffering what I call COVID Flashbacks at kesst once a week, where a symptom suddenly re-emerges, like shortness of breath, kilker headache, crazy-sore legs, or flat-out fatigue. Not fun. --SiM
Delete*Least, not kesst. --SiM
Delete@SiM, I feel bad for your wife.
DeleteIt's tempting, the M.
DeleteHopefully the vaccine will bring some relief in a few months. Tell Madam SiM to hang in there!
DeleteYes indeed. I only hope it doesn't get too ugly in this dark winter while we wait for the vaccines to get administered. --SiM
DeleteSFU doesn’t like the Steelers much either.
ReplyDelete‘ Is this the beginning of the decline for Roethlisberger?’
Fucking pieces of shit.
The Bungles are giving moe's Steelers a run for it tonight.
ReplyDeleteI finished watching the Giants game from last night, they need help on offence. They and the Jets are the two lowest scoring teams in the NFL. The NYG need good receivers, maybe one of those UFA's Saint Paddy was talking about. And they need a healthy Saquon Barkley for a complete season.
Ouf. Getting beat bad, so far.
DeleteChecks rum stash ...
ReplyDeleteTough night for your team Moe. Def a missed PI call on that last drive but that stuff happens all the time. But you'll have playoff football so I can't say anything...
ReplyDeleteOuf, shit 3 games in a row BUT I (we) lived through 2 eight game stretches of losses !
DeleteBig Ben sucked tonight as did his team.
Playoff football? I can't even remember what that looks like. For my team anyway.
DeleteMight be time for a new GM and scouting staff...
Some Steelers are also shooting off their mouths. Shut up and play.
ReplyDeleteJuJu Smith-Shuster. Karma is a bitch is all I can say.
DeleteWell, we will soon be able to talk about hockey instead of football. Maybe. Perhaps.
ReplyDeleteSoon, we will be able to cheer for our Habs and laugh at the fucking leaf as they inevitably fall on their faces.
Just to add to the SFU networks plethora of crimes against the RoC sporting community, any hockey story usually as a sidebar link: How does this affect the leaf? I wish I could answer: We don't give a fuck!
ReplyDeleteSo here's an example: "@EricEngels examines how the taxi squad will likely have an impact on the
ReplyDelete@CanadiensMTL's day-to-day management."
How does this affect the leaf, as in, how does this affect Austin Matthew's daily bowel movement?
What brand of toilet paper will he use? leafools need to know!
Cole Caufield is being a sick scoring bastard tonight, jussayin. --SiM
ReplyDeleteThe Montreal Canadiens sign forward Michael Frolik to a one year deal. How does this affect the wretched leaf and auston matthews' fantasy football team?
ReplyDeleteWow those hilites of CC from the Finland game! Great hands and fantastic hockey sense. Gonna love watching him score many a goal in the CH.
ReplyDeleteLoaded schedule for the NHL's favourite team, the Habs.
ReplyDeleteTrying to get them eliminated early?
DeleteIf I recall correctly, the last couple of years the Habs have struggled against Edmonton the most. The rest of the teams, pfff, they don't scare me. Especially the putrid leaf.
ReplyDeleteFlames have some nice additions but going in the Habs have a very well-balanced team.
DeleteLet's start with the obvious.
ReplyDeleteOttawa - rebuilding
Winnipeg - didn't shore up their D, have good forwards and good goalie
Calgary - decent team, tough, stole Vancouver's goalie
Vancouver - some really good young players, probably a bit inexperienced, lost their #1 goalie
Edmonton - 2 superstar forwards, speed speed and more speed.
Well compiled, the M --SiM
