Moe, brother...you know my dedication to this place of ours is without question...but I'm not digging the new banner. I know you understand my views on it too...Je m'excuse but je suis un traditioneliste (who clearly can't spell in french...lol) All the same, thank you on behalf of us all for keeping this safe place alive. 1. Yeah, I was wondering myself too but, it is a real jersey, it will be worn, it is a symbol of this season.

      Delete
    2. It is indeed and I shall say no more. One thing I have developed through all this is a heightened sense of "fuck it, there are way more important things in life" - they are only going to wear it for a handful of games anyway. It took me years to get used to the switch to Red for home games, so I'm not the target market for the blue shirt anyway...hehehehe Go you Fucking Habs Go!

  5. I know it's blue, but I don't hate the sweater. I feel shame. There was a commercial for something a number of years back stating 'people like blue' so I guess that's it. Just not leaf compost blue.

    So up for this
I love the TSN survey of knowledgeable people who all agree that the leaf will be number one.
    That's like 30 Helens... right?
Anyway starting on the road is a good thing for getting to know each other
Also could somebody tell Brendan Kelly to stop trying to write about something he knows nothing about
    so ya
    Go Habs

    ReplyDelete
  7. Again shame on me, but I tuned into TSN at lunch. I saw Poulin and I don't mind him. He and Button are both predicting the Habs to come out of the north division...but losing to TB in the semis. Poulin says unlike other teams vying for the north, the Habs are more built for the playoffs on both ends of the ice, defending and creating havoc on offence.

A lot of what happens with a lot of teams this year really depends on health. I sincerely hope all players on all teams (even the leafs) and their families stay healthy through this. In the end, even mrs Pad, who actually hates hockey, says there are a lot of Canadians depending on this for their mental health as silly as that might seem. So I suspect this could be uplifting for a lot of folks. Except leaf fans who will fall into a deeper depression (sorry, couldn't resist!)

Haven’t watched one second except for RDS.

  8. All the back to back games against the same team is going to bring a weird dimension to the season. My sleep pattern since all this started has been royally screwed so the late starts in the East won't be a problem. West coast swings will remain a challenge but lets see how we all get on. One thing I am glad about is that I don't have to read all the leafools news - I mute a lot of them. Being built for the playoffs should be a good thing in a 56 game season. Fingers crossed they stay healthy.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yep, mute as much as possible.

  56. K3M: yeah! great observation! i remember they used to wear whites at home. it wasnt until buttman started ruining ice hockey by making them wear colours at the forum that made us buy the other set for their mechandise revenues...

martimer: 'cant play run and gun. they dont have the firepower'
come on man! be fair! if they had won this match, you wouldnt be saying that!

fwiw... this loss is on me. as soon as i turned it on, Druid's clear hit the ref for the 4-4 goal.
still on this play... did any of you notice what that stupid colour guy said afterwards? i swear he must be related to idotboy hughson... after that goal, the colour guy said something akin: 'gotta feel for _ref_ _name_ there.' uh.... WHAT? are you freaking nuts?! what about Druid!? it was his pass which clanged off directly for the game-tieing goal! stupid talking head....

watching the boys for the first time gives me some first thoughts...
#27: wearing AK's former number?! no! that was shayne's number!

#73: good on him for donning this shirt. can i nominate him to be CCR3.0?

perry: didnt notice him. got no nickname for him beside dingus.

Jedi: no! he is definitely not cool enough to carry this nickname. can we do anything with a reference to this guy? http://www.lemonaidcars.com any of you old enough to remember what im talking about? he was pretty big before yahoo came along...

#14: i still dont like nature boy. sounds kinda pansy, but i guess i can live with it IF we start doing the ric flair WOOOOO! when he scores.

JosCH: still hate him b/c he cost us Domini, but it looks like he tries hard so thats good... (take note GIJoel, your days are numbered). still on JosCH, somebody on tv said he could be the answer to what the habs thought they had in big Mac. what do you guys think?

Unknown & Moeman: no! not a fair compare to LeClair. never a fair compare to anybody. when he got traded, it would have been impossible to see him turn into that type of player. im convinced he flourished only b/c he went to PHI which plays exactly that kind of style better than anybody in the league. if he stayed behind or got traded to any other team, im sure he wouldnt have been any better than a 20-goal guy.

*oh! and almost forgot! you guys watch HI/O? what happened to their host? Adam Susser was great! this new guy has been a guest panelist in the past but theres nothing wrong with the job adam was doing! whats the story?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Nothing worse than staying up stupid late to lose in OT...but an exciting game. Habs made some mistakes, some worked harder than others and they need to calm the fuck down in OT - I suspect they will play a lot of OT this season. It's 1 good play that wins OT...and one bonehead one will cost it ya! So I suspect we'll see Alain in Edmonton - at least once. Note to @Oleg - You didn't notice Perry because he was in the Uber for this game...I have no understanding of how the "taxi" squad thing works so someone far more abreast of this new system could go into detail. Great to see +130 comments on the thread too...GYFHG!

  58. the Maritimer10:14 AM

Disappointing to lose that game. Up 3-1 on the road they needed to slow it down just a little, the putrid leaf have no concept of how to play defensively so let them run around and make mistakes. Saint Paddy is correct, stay out of the box 'cause the PK needs work still. I suspect we will be watching a lot of close, OT, SO games in this division. Even with Ottawa. Alcohol may be required.

Good to see so many commenters back on the site, 29, lehab, Chester even our little west coast friend oleg the water bug! Cheers!

More Pierre-Luc Dubois rumours, Columbus wants Slick Nick + whatever. No way Jose, not after what I saw last night. I'm not even sure I would give up Kid Koho, actually I wouldn't. They are welcome to Dano (who was gassed last night in OT in all fairness) plus a defensive prospect not named Romanov. Take a pass bergy. It's too bad. Dubois, unlike Cousin Vinny who wanted no part of Montreal, actually wants to play there.
