10pm start Atlantic time. I'll get the 1st period in, maybe the second. I'll record the game and finish it in the morning. Or not, depending on the score.

Go Habs! Go Jets! Fuck the sfu.

    Good test tonight.
All these back to back to backs.
    See who adjusts better.
Like to see KK's line improve a bit.
Wonder when we will see Alain.
9 pm is a little late for Chester.
So watch the start for sure.
    Go Habs

I'd like to see KK get KidG and Tuna for a game, he needs some legit finishers.

  5. Lots of trouble trying to comment today...but wanted to echo my fellow Maritimer's comments from above. If they're doing well I might be silly and stay up late to finish the game. The 39 second commute to my basement helps out in that regard in the morning.

And yes it will be great to see what fellow NBer Jake the Snake (JtS) does tonight.

    GHG!

  6. I am trying to comment without training camp, just direct into the season. A 9PM start, I am already over 30 min a game, if I can find some oxygen maybe but for tonite put me on the wavier wire.

This will be a different Oilers team tonight, likely looking to avenge themselves. If the Habs can weather the storm early they have a shot.

  10. TSN broadcast tonight. At least we get a bit of the snappy John Lu maybe!

  33. So let me get this straight. The leaf mediots cried about Underpants and now the Habs will be called for every crosscheck in front of their net even though it's every damn on every team that does it? Ok got it.

    1. And no 3-point games among the other teams in our division. This will be a thing; this is the wildcard issue that will decide some unlucky team's fate as fsr as makkng the playoffs or not. Mark my words. --SiM

  39. 5 out of 6 points to start. There are no weak teams in the Cancon division. I'll take it gladly. Now: a few days in balmy Vancouver. GYFHG --SiM

  40. It's only 3 games but I am now officially excited about the future. The Hbas looked good again last night and there is clearly a lot of talent on the teAM. Crap officiating not withstanding however, the Habs have to keep themselves out of the box. 7 penalties were killed - so that's a big tick! But they should really not be doing that as much. If the refs are going to make that call in front of the night, stop doing it. Also...90 minutes of concentration by all the players would have seen JTS with a shuttie...Brain farts can't continue (I'm talking to YOU Druid!) But I won't harp on the negatives. The boys played well. They hit, they skated, they scored...THEY JUST FUCKIN WON! Cant ask for more!

Just finished watching the game, pretty solid effort from start to finish. Jake the Snake was impressive, too bad Turnover Machine ruined his shutout bid. Man, I'm really liking this defence, Jed and Tsar are great additions and Jeff Petry, what a player he has turned into. Well, he's been really good the last two years but his team was terrible so it was hard to notice. Keep'er goin' fellas, can't wait to play the fucking leaf again. Those nasty dmen will be cross-checking that whiny bitch auston even harder.

  42. 3 games in Vancouver, then 2 home to Flames and 2 more vs Vancouver. 5 of next 7 against the Canucks. This is a wild season.

I just checked the standings and noticed each division has a company name attached. I guess this is Bettman getting revenue to line his pockets some more? Also only just noticed the Bell logo on the Habs' helmets last night. Might only be a matter of time before the sweaters look like the European ones? That can never happen to the most iconic jersey in sport. Never.

Division namein rights is a temporary thing for revenue. I think. But with buttman you never know. I can see the helmet advertising staying and that's OK, you don't really notice it on the sides that much. As long as they don't do the IIHF 'in your face' ads on the front. That's fucking brutal. I don't ever see sweater ads happening but you never know.

  43. You'll notice, on the right sidebar, a small pic of front-line workers.

As long as I am part of this blog, it will stay there forever.

The anguish they have felt and dealt with will never, can never, be repaid.

Here in New Brunswick we were told by Public Health and the Premier to not gather in large groups over the holidays. Many people did not heed this advice and here we are two weeks later, right on schedule, in the red zone. As Premier Higgs said, we are now paying the bill. Lets hope we can pay it quickly but I think we are shut down for some time to come. Thankfully, we can at least watch some NFL and NHL games to help pass the time. As moe said, thanks go out to front line health care workers, may of whom are now self isolating putting even more strain on the ones still working.

Anyone else think that maybe GI Finn should join the taxi squad for a game or two? Might be time to see what Corey Perry could could do with Kid KoHo and Toffey.

  47. who was it that nominated Jakieboy to be le pomme? was it you moeman? that was a great story. im kinda liking it actually. apples have way more allegories.

just caught the highlites. who were those idiots on SN last night? both of em kept calling CHzr: Ro-MAN-off. is that how you pronounce his name? i just assumed it was Roman-ov.

kidG: 'sigh'... some things will never change. always missing glorious chances. hopefully he gets his 20-something the hard, dirty way. if only he could finish, he would be a 45-55 goal man each yr.

i agree Maritimer.... GIJoel should go drive a taxi in siberia. im sick of a guy whos among the largest in the line-up, time and again refusing to use his body against opposing players. im not asking him to smash em, im merely asking him to project his body into that of an opponent to knock him off stride. GIJoel is reminding me of CHicken... oh what waste of potential...

    1. One of the SN guys explained he was once schooled by Ron Reusch on Russian name pronounciation, and Ron had patiently told him the accent goes on rhe second syllable, hence Ro-MAHN-off was how he was gonna go. It doesn't explain why I have never heard anyone say Gor-BAH-chev, but anyway, that was his reasoning.

I think GI Finn is mysterious. Seems to have "Magician"-like tendencies, disappearing at times. --SiM
