Good luck Dano!  That's a lot of dough.

    Wideman is an Uber Confidential.
What is the point of Cedric Baguette? Is he an Entertainer?
A Savard on D. Can't be bad, should be a good pair with Chariot? I want to see at least one spin-o-rama.

  2. So long Dano yesterday and CHommodore today. They are both going to be missed. Wideman does not excote me. Hoffman seems like a good signing though. Paquette will not hurt either.

  5. The Hoff is the best combo of singer actor and dancer of his gen. Only Christopher Walken comes close.
Maybe we call him the CHoff?
Little tidbit of bird saying Richardson was his coach for two or three years in the AHL and he gave the move a green light. WHo has not wanted to see a teamates wife ......... Thats the Hoff in him

  6. I heard another little bird on the radio today. This bird has more lawyers than this blog. Anyway he sounded like a very old man and I was sad.

    1. Heard Paquette on the radio with Tony Marinaro, sounding pumped. Might be an injury case though because he promised to go through walls gor this team, and I don't know if he realizes how much that raises expectations. Druid might have to take him aside for a little chat about that, lol.

    1. Great quote! Reminds me of this one from John Lewis:

"Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble."

  10. LB not projected to return before January after hil surgery. For a guy who relies on his extremely fast skating to be effective, that's a toughie. But I bet he will work his tail off to come back and still be that explosive skater if he can. Good luck, LB!

Hey guys! Good to see some of you are still posting. The Habs are going to be a bit different looking this October. First, many thanks to the Captain for going above and beyond the call of duty in playing for the Sainted Flannel. Thanks also to Phil Danault and Tomas Tatar for some damn good play, especially Sauce for some exciting shootout moves. Corey Perry, you were a revelation and I'm sure the young guns learned a great deal of what it takes to win at this level. Thanks to Eric Staal and all the other pickups to contributed to the most exciting playoff run in nearly 30 years, even though I gave up on them in them in the first round. Shame on me.

To Matthieu Perrault and Cedric Paquette, I hope you are the royal pains in the butt to the opposition as you were to the Habs whenever you played against them. Bonne Chance to David Savard, you won't replace Shea just be yourself. To Mike Hoffman, I remember when you played one season here in Saint John in the Q, happy to be cheering for you again.

I'm still pissed off at Molson, dickhead and Timmins, the Three Stooges, for their major faux pas. They deserved their public spanking from Gary B.

    2. I second a of this. Meanwhile, Eichel is not and should not be of interest to us. But what if Crosby could be pried out of Pittsburgh? We have tge cap space and assets to get him, if he's onboard.

Thanks moe, the knee is holding up fine, 25 rounds so far, mostly walked.

Agree on Eichel, I wouldn't give up Nick or KK for him. I doubt Sid will move he is a lifer in Pitt.

  14. Can I say one thing about Echiel his name is very close to the guy who drew all the crazy 3d drawing a hundred years ago. He is an Amercian, and for me this is a 40 point down in the score auto , matic.
Americans who play hockey have no idea about hardship.

I know we are all sick of it but a female Sharks fan disects Geoff Molson's letter of apology, it's posted at EOTP.

Essentially, Molson is saying "We're sorry we got caught but we are keeping the pick anyway."

If this kid ever shows up at a Habs training camp it probably won't be good if Shea Weber or any of the players with young daughters get hold of him. The Three Stooges have put the players in an impossible situation. Who is ever going to welcome him?

  17. The first period is mostly music and in the second they add in video to keep us going mono when stereo is available but you know the diehards they invested so much in mono.

Second period and I see flashes of greatness like UFO all over the ice, but no one scores

Third period and we are living on the knife edge, next goal wins because despite history we are currently riding on non goal scoring support pins. Look its no dumpster fire DGMG has put everything
he has ever known into this team and that just mystifys me his Empty and the person down on the ranCH
    lasting so long.
I dont care if he picks up a facebook pervet. I want to win the cup and I am not saying we need barebreasted CHeer leaders handing out discounts to CHE Pare, but I bet something that CHE like Bob DLYAN and Paul simon sought some comfort there. You can see hundreds of FREench girls all AT ONE PLACE

  18. The draft pick pervert took his blows and the future is uncertain. However for Evanader Kane the past is always near and his future looks worse than uncertain. If the allegations against him are proven true he will have to be amongst the greatest sports zeros starting with alleged bad guy OJ. Now alleged bad guy Pete Rose may have been in the same envelope but I expect his pregnant wife had the funds to buy formula.

  19. Great run by DeGrasse today. Congrats.

Watching a recap and one if the hosts had to go and say "Yeah Andre repping the 6!" Not Canada. The 6. Whatever the fuck that supposed to mean. Well I get where its coming from, but it's dumb as fuck that it's caught in with 'thisr people' from that area.

One more thing. During the Olympics viewing, one of those horrible gambling commercials come on. Not really paying attention and I hear "I captained one of the greatest teams in NHL history..." I thought what is Gretzky doing peddling gambling sites? I look up at the screen. Nope. It was Mats Sundin.

  27. Been on hols for a couple weeks. All seems to have gone quiet on the Free agency market. I guess the team we have is the team we have. I don't see Druid making a return. I do like the look of Norlinder (?) who seems to be a quiet superstar in the making. Training camp should be interesting. KidA, TFS both come back from surgeries, BBQ - maybe by December, and Poehling trying like mad to make the show - I think he will btw - except that now DD has to make all the calls, which should shake things up a bit. I don't see our 1st rounder making an appearance for another year or so and hopefully by that time everyone will be a much better place. Time (and some kick ass therapy) cures most things. I trust in the Habs to deliver on their promises and I am prepared to wait and see what happens. Enjoy the rest of your summer everyone! GYFHG!

  30. Little golf talk. There was a 6 man playoff yesterday. First sudden death hole Adam Scott has a 4'3" putt to make the only birdie and missed. They play the hole again, another guy gets the only birdie and wins. First place about $1.15million. the 5 tied for second about $370K. So the next time I miss a four footer I'll just remember "at least I'm not losing about $750K!" And take 2 more putts to sink it and carry on.

Hey FHFriends! Not much going on in our Habs world lately. However, today is special for Mrs. Maritimer and myself, celebrating 32 years of marriage. Best thing that ever happened in my life!

NFL football and hockey are just around the corner, the Sea Dogs opened training camp today.

I've been struggling on occasion on the links lately. Played my worst round of the season yesterday, barely broke 100. I know why too, on Mondays the shove the mid-tees back almost to the blacks and put the pins as far away as they can. Fuck that shit, from now on I'm moving up to the senior tees on Monday. I just can't hit the ball as far as I used to.

    1. Hey The M, congrats to you and Mrs. The M. 32 years is great going. Me and Mrs. UK3X have been together for 30 (married for 27 of them), so I think I can relate. Golf is something I've put on the back burner now for about 10 years as I struggled to justify the time it took away from the homefront and the kids. I've always planned on taking it back up when the kids are self sufficient - and that days draws ever closer as the youngest of them just needs to pass his driving test before the end of the year - could have been this summer but the covid has created a massive backlog with examiners here in the UK. six month wait lists for tests! So back in the day I was comfortably hacking around in the low 90's but I doubt I'd crack a tonne if I went out right now...Time will tell I suppose.

    2. Congrats indeed. Mrs Pad and I celebrated 30 last month. Just 30 more to go.

As I've mentioned I dream of breaking 100 on a regular basis. Maybe lessons next year or maybe I wait til I retire in 44ish months.

Anyway dog days indeed. Hotter than the hobs of hell lately but that humidity finally broke so I don't sweat just walking to the car now.
