What is wrong with some people? You take a de-wormer medicine for fucking cows but you won't take a vaccine designed for humans? It's a good thing social media and these fools weren't around in the 50's when they were vaccinating against smallpox, diphtheria and polio. I don't get it.

  5. So the NHL released the Habs pre-season schedule. Gotta say I am sadly not surprised to see them only playing the leaf, and Sens. Hadly gonna be any sort of gauge in what the season will be like, although I do get that pre-season is worthless, apart from conditioning - it will serve to help hype the tranna media frenzy and help them plan their parade for early October as usual...

Played 18 today, it was tough, couldn't keep my hands dry to grip the clubs but managed to shoot 88. Taking tomorrow off.

  10. Week 1 of vacation over. Had a good, if not too short to Ottawa to visit the youngest, her guy and their new home. Boy was it hot. Felt like 42/43 each day. They're young and have lots to do at their place. Found it hard not to 'take over' and just do shit around the house but had to let it go...anyway great to see her first time in nearly 2 years. Part 2 of vacation will be a cottage at the beach near Shediac, NB starting tomorrow. Looking forward to doing absolutely nothing for a week.

Still no KK signing makes me wonder if MB is just fucking around or has something big up his sleeve. One never knows with him. 2 weeks to football. 6 or 7 til hockey. Quick summer with the late season, remember? Habs played in the Stanley Cup finals?!!

"And then there’s going nuclear and tendering an offer sheet to Vancouver Canucks centre Elias Pettersson. We don’t think Bergevin’s going to do that—how he’d make it work from a cap perspective is beyond our limited math comprehension—but we can’t strike it as a possibility."

The key is KK must be qualified at $6.1 until he reaches UFA. Now he can sign an extension for less but it looks like he is burning that bridge with Montreal.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why wouldn't KK accept that offer? Like the M said, he was treated like garbage, watching his team fizzle out of the playoffs as players with big injuries skated and did more to hurt the team than KK ever could. And somebody offers you twice what you're worth, you sign that dotted line tout suite!

Yes it boils down to pettiness, which really has me wondering if MB will say fine, take him so he can use those picks to trade for a better centre. Not saying I want Eichel and not sure he could be had with a bunch of picks and lesser players (i.e. not NS or CC), like Byron and Poehling. But i can see MB doing this or similar, something less costly than Eichel likely. Who the f knows! Only one man. If this is his swan song year I don't think anything is out of the question.

I think sign him. Then look for a trade. I don't think he wants to be here and that way MB would have time to shop him and get something better than a couple of picks from the large rotating storm.
It's like The View From Nebraska said, it's clearly a bush revenge move and I don't think it's the best for KK. It saddles him with the 6.1 mil going forward. He was clearly thinking short term.

Take the $ and play with fellow Finn Aho? Why worry about offending Bergy. Mailloux proves he has no moral authority anyway. Who among us would turn down a guaranteed $6 million?

      Delete
    2. Good for KK (but not understanding the meaning of the $20 is a bit sad).

DGMB cannot trade him for a year if he signs him and it'll the same $6.1M the follow year until some kind of long term AAV structure is agreed upon.

Good chance to catch up on all the KK reactions. Big surprise the leaf media all seem very excited by the news. As if it in anyway impacts them. I suppose it does. KK is the guy who sent that series to game 7. That alone should warrant him $6M to stay with the team this season now that I think about it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. the Maritimer7:17 PM

After giving it some thought, as much as I like Kid KoHo, I would let him walk. If mb matches, it will fuck up his salary cap structure for years. They can't pay a 30 point player that kind of coin, even for a year or two. Physically, he is still structurally weak, falls down a lot and doesn't win many puck battles. I know he is only 21 but he should be showing more than he is. Don't worry about losing a 3rd overall pick for a possible late 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder. I's all relative anyway. Like, where is Nail Yakupov theses days? How about gCHuk? Take those two picks and flip them for Dvorak or someone like that or, swing for the fences with Eichel. Like I said, lots of drama.

Canadiens' management dropped the ball on Kid KoHo from the start. A barely turned 18 year old stringbean should not have started in the NHL. He should have played 2 more years in Finland at least. More time to mature mentally and physically. Watching him play the last couple of years I never got the impression he was going to be a dominant #1 center, but a good #2 like Saku was.

Fortunately, Suzuki has fallen into bergevin's lap so he can save face. Nick is a true #1 and with CC will put up some good numbers. They need Power Horse on their left wing to give them so space and a little protection.

As for KK, I hope Carolina self destructs down to a bottom 5 finish and with that shitty goaltending tandem it is a good possibility. Fuck Dundun and Waddle.

It's harder than you think! There is a winner every week and an overall season winner. I'm also in a Survivor pool this year, first time in probably 20 years. $5 to get in and $5 to buy back in.

I expect my Giants to suck again this year. Maybe they can get a decent QB in the '22 Draft.

Which brings me to this. Since it's been such a great year, maybe it's time to 'promote' Bergevin to President (cuz he ain't going anywhere) and replace him with the league's first female GM. There are some great options out there, perhaps limited however if speaking French is a requirement, which I think we can agree by now is a fact. She's really smart, Wickenheuser could learn the language quick. Bonus is that Dr Mulder is really old and she can do double duty when he retires. There is Meaghan Hunter from the Hunter clan. Doubt she is bilingual but I dont know. Maybe she's not ready to GM a team yet but Swiss Miss Florence Schelling was the first GM of a pro men's hockey team last year for Bern. Being Swiss she might have French and wouldn't be a bad person to get into the system. Moe has names a.few others that would be excellent targets in previous posts.

    1. Gut wrenching loss with zero on the clock after the offside. I'd prefer a blowout to that.

Watched the first half. He didn't look so bad though he was sacked three times. We have a new guy just started at work and he's a Giants fan. He informs me the O-line looked much better in the 2nd half and if D Jones has time, he is a very accurate passer. He thinks he IS the QB of the future. He may wear blue tinted glasses mind you...

And apparently DJ for more yards than the most of any Giants QB since 1950?

  52. Ekland and me are on the same sine wave of crazy. However, lets offer Brady T a 10 mill offer sheet for 5 years cash up front. DBMB make it so, with BBQ on the BBQ we can pull this off and if we lose we have Mylnick and another Billonare chasing us down making bad decisions that help our future.

Must be almost time for a new thread. Summer is winding down, I think the autumn equinox is tomorrow. Exhibition game this weekend against the hated wretched leaf, who will once again be pronounced Cup champions in Sept. by the SFU. I think we should all heed the words from Stephane Richer and cut the players some slack when they are not playing well. I am guilty of it myself. I plan to change that this season.

I'm not sure how many Habs games I will get to watch this season. I no longer have tsn or snotnet with my greatly reduced tv package and I don't care. Fuck Bell. I may be able to catch the Saturday night games on CBC Gem. We'll see.

  54. Great news. Hugeson has retired. I can see SN promoting that horribly annoying leaf play by play guy to he national broadcast. The holy mackinaw guy...
