Josh Hang On, Dick Ricttchie, these are the stuff leaf dreams are made of. Take it to the bank they dont make the playoffs, and they blow up the team, burn the shanaplan and bring back the Burkka.

Steve, thanks for the onhockey.tv tip. I was expecting to watch the game on CBC (you know our National Network) which I thought would have played the first game between the two oldest franchises in Canada. But NO! Tried on my iPad, but on my laptop with an adblocker, it worked fine. The game result, not so much. Of course we all know that an exhibition game win is equivalent to a playoff series (or three series for that matter).

Yeah baby! The Giants are 0-3, looks like they will be vying with the Lions and Jags for the 1st overall pick in 2022. I don't know how the GM in New York is keeping his job. He must be quite the salesman or bullshitter to keep ownership at bay.

"2) His name was Steve Montador

    He was my best friend

He was cleared for 19 concussions in the NHL

He was cleared for 4 concussions in a span of 12 weeks while we played together on the @NHLBlackhawks

    His 16th, 17th, 18th & 19th brain injury in just 571 NHL games…

    3) The @NHLBlackhawks couldn’t get Steve cleared after his 19th concussion

They were trying everything to get him to feel good enough to sign his fit to play, but were unsuccessful until he made a decision, on his own, to seek out another opinion & treatment option…"

  48. Like the M stated earlier this offseason, I am also parking the negativity. Look at the positives, Jake is a capable starter, perhaps a couple more kids get a shot (Ghouly perhaps, since it's Hallowe'en month that is his name for now at least), and most of all, maybe from what we've seen with Drouin and Price, the team and the league get better at handling mental health issues.

I watched MB break down in tears when talking about Carey the human. Got me right in the feels as my daughter likes to say. I'm going to try to take hockey and sport in general way less serious. Probably be good for my own mental health. Except for Fantasy Football - crushing my friends in that competition is all that matters. Then gloating about it until next season.

    1. There's never a good reason to think negative about the start of a season.

      All teams are even.

Coaches will need to adjust, probably re-adjust at times.

Just watched DGMB. He definitely has no (masculine) qualms about showing his emotions and you can tell how much he loves TFS™ and his players.

  49. TFS may have been hiding something for years. Remember the famous scurvy diagnosis a year or so back.
His former goalie coach reveled he is never playing 100%. I can only speculate but perhaps the painkillers hooked him.
I hope only the best for him. However I speculate he will join BBQ on the LITR and this could be his last season.
Other news, lets say we drafted Brady Tchuck instead of Kid Ko and now he is holding us hostage for 10 M a year? Dogged a bullet?
PFK got into a situation and Kill Krieder chased him all over the ice and it appears most of his teammates where on the Killer side.

I am optimistic that this team actually plays hockey, the puck does not go on a players stick to die and we score like Brad Pitt at a cougar bar.

  54. Interesting aside in the presser yesterday that there would be no negotiations during the season for extending MB. He might be done with the position himself - it's gotta take a mental health toll on a guy. But I like MB and if Molson had any sense (which I'm not so sure of), he would step aside, promote MB to President of Hockey Operations and they could hire whomever as GM, Roy, Damphousse, etc.
But we know that is unlikely so we'll play out the season and see where the chips fall on the team and on management.

    Army grabs 25 + goals

Hey UK3X, welcome back! I like your optimism but have a few reservations myself regarding the Habs. I like the forward group but I think the D is very suspect. The goaltending will be average. The absense of Price will show what this team actually is made of. I just hope they can play .500 hockey until Price returns and stay in the hunt for the playoffs. If they don't, so be it, a decent draft pick and bergy will likely be gone with no more sex offenders drafted.
