Yep love the new header also. Very modern. And love the Oktoberfest shout-outs and sad leafies.
As it happens, opening night of curling season will interfere with opening night for the Habs. So I'll record the game and decide whether or not to watch it later. New division, new teams to play, going to be exciting. Talking curling here...
Just had a random Norm Macdonald thought. IIRC he actually played a part in my first ever FHF blog post, which was space themed. It included an image of Yaphit from The Orville, voiced by none other than our late, great Hab fan himself. RIP Norm. I wonder if The Orville is still going...I quite enjoyed its commitment to social issues while maintaining a light side.
Nice ones, you took a bevey of generic pictures and made a master pewee., I am afraid for tonite because our D is static and Toronto has those 3 dyamic forwards that feast upon this, plus no crosscheching and they have cememt head for the crease.
Well the good news. We won our first game on my final rock angle raise takeout to score 3 for a 9-7 victory! I should quit now. That won't happen again.
I FF'd through most of the game so don't have a good sense of who did what well or not well. Except I watched the full 5 on 3 and...if trying to get the point shot is your best option, time to crack open the playbook. Terrible.
But anyway it seemed like Pomme played well so that's a start. Time to shuffalo to Buffalo right?
I am not about to pay for SploogeNet (just RDS, so about a handful of games, like last night's, will be listened to on TSN690 with the excellent Dan Robertson and Sergio Momesso. Mrs. SiM and I cleaned up the basement and the Habs coaching staff will evidently need to do the same with that PP.
I see that Ducharme in his presser pointed out Romanov's penalty which led to a PP goal as the game changer. I doubt he does that for an older player. Why say that to the media, basically blame the kid for the loss when you have an atrocious PP and by all accounts nobody did anything well aside from Allen? Not sure it bodes well for Czar.
The Snake played really well. The D was OK but, like many times last year they would get pinned in their own end for long periods. AS for the forwards, the Dvo-Jo-Andy line was really good, Nick-CC-Toffee was not so good, Army-7vans-Lep was meh and the 4th line was the 4th line. They held the mighty October sTaNlYcUp winning leaf to 2 measly goals so there is that. Yeah, that 5 on 3 was atrocious, Burrows has his work cut out. On to Buffalo. Please at least get a loser point.
Khaaan! between the pipes tonight. His pads are made from fine Corinthian leather. This is no fantasy. He'll be good to the last drop...er second, for the win!
Here we go ...
ReplyDeleteGreat spread! Love the new banner, moe!
ReplyDeleteGYFHG - may the 2021-22 NHL season be free of Earth-shattering events!
Merci SiM !

As for hockey, GYMFHG!
Have fun.
DeleteAnd hey we're technically ahead of the Bolts today. Habs have zero points with 82 games remaining. Bolts have zero with only 81 to go. F you TB!

ReplyDeleteO lines moving but still, still! the blue line defending is weak.
DeleteNow for the really important stuff…..what’s everyone drinking and eating tonight?
ReplyDeleteHomemade pizza, prosecco and dose lausanne ginger pastry (my Sis from Switzerland was in Canada for my Mom's 80th this weekend).
DeleteSounds good! I’m just having grilled cheese, chocolate donut for dessert, California Syrah.
DeleteNot sure about the Suzuki line.
ReplyDeleteThe Devo line looks dangerous. I think Lep would be better with Nick and CC.
ReplyDeleteThis is not good hockey.
ReplyDeleteExcept for the Snake
DeleteEew.
ReplyDeletethat was awful.

Didn't see it (only watched the 1st - school night) but I gather the blown 5-3 summarises what happened. It is but 1 game.
