I am predicting we go on a heater, two wins, two farts in the air. Outlander is a x man. How many Swedish D man of the year can we have in our procession until one proves its something. Monty Python should do a Habs skit. Look we are tanking, Lucky Charmes has been given the directions to the tank and the team is confused. We need 3 years full tank and then a decade of being competitive. This should have been done after we got G CHUCK but because EMPTY was such a great CoaCH we missed that Chance.
Kk orchestrated a beauty to give his team a 4-3 lead. He orchestrated the zone entry and finished off the play alone at the front of the net with a deft tap-in. Looking like a Devo and a half.
Tuned in again in time to see the shorty against. I'll stop tuning in now. But before I go I'm starting a pool. at what time of which period will Buffalo score it's 5th goal. I'll start:
I went to my grandson's schoolboy hockey game tonight. Pretty sure it was more entertaining than watching the Montreal Canadiens. I did not put the game on when I got in, instead choosing to read the comments here, at EOTP and various Twitter pages. I have two observations, 1) Montreal is THE BEST organization in the entire NHL at humiliating young prospects and 'teaching' them that they are not be trusted in game situations and 2) Jack Todd is correct in pointing out that Geoff Molson has officially exceeded Eugene Melnyk as THE WORST owner in Canada.
As for Coach Ducharme, why even bother with a post game press conference any more? The press should just stop asking questions because he obviously has no answers. After tomorrow night's loss it has to be over, right?
While we're all calling for Bergevin's head on a platter... has anyone checked in on him the last few days? Last we heard he was battling COVID-19 and sounded awful. Still hoping for his full recovery, and I am sure these events aren't making that any easier for him.
Following up on my earlier math lesson, after tonight's loss, the Habs will be on the exact .260 winning percentage pace as the 1939/40 hapless Habs , matching the worst 'winning' percentage in the 112 year history of the team.
No point in changing the coach at this point (other than him not being a good coach) but if MB is bailing next year, he really should be replaced soon, before the trade deadline and well before the draft.
Thing is with the new contract Molson isn't going to pay for 3 head coaches at once. Julien expires after this year, so he'll only have to pay DD as a non coaching coach when replaced in the off season by the new GM, and he's way cheaper than what he's been paying Julien.
Lots of folks saying to let dd finish the season. I don't think that is in the best interest of the players. Call it a gut feeling, but I think that room is toxic right now. Even if they lose every game for the rest of the year, Luke Richardson has to take over. He's a former player with over a thousand games of experience the players respect him. Who the fuck is ducharme? Somebody who got lucky coaching in junior with a stacked Mooseheads team and a deep WJC team. Those teams probably won in spite of him, on talent and skill alone. Remember when Price had enough of eMpTy? He was gone shortly after.
I've had enough of bergevin too, his 'vision' sucks. I don't know who will replace him but molson needs to climb out of his foxhole and get somebody NOW! molson reminds me of the sergeant in 'Platoon' when the Viet Cong over ran the base during the Tet offensive and he pulled the dead bodies over himself to hide. molson is a fucking clueless twit.
Added a late pic after the tuxedo babe. A rare mid-post end pic to change things up.
I was.also out for a walk through one of our lovely parks. 5 degrees but chilly with the wind. An inconsistent day with sun, cloud, showers and repeat.
I'm guessing that the Habs/Tuxedo Birds are the featured game tonight on hnit since the wretched leaf are not playing. I have confidence that the panel will still find a way to make it all about them though. I didn't watch the game last night as I can't do b2bs any more. Blechh. I may have to switch to Hawkeye at some point.
Players like Crosby, McDavid, Draisitl and Ovechkin were fortunate they were drafted to other organizations. Montreal would have turned them all into 3rd line checkers. Twelve minutes in and the Habs have not been mentioned. I wonder why?
- Lots of talk about McDavid and Crosby - Interview with Leon, who has 20 goals in 19 games. Fuck me. - Interesting note from the fried-man: Elliotte Friedman on HNIC says the Canadiens have received permission to talk to former NYR GM Jeff Gorton. Friedman says he does not believe it would be for the GM role, but for another position in the organization. President perhaps? - More talk about Leon and Connor - Interview with Dave Tippet. Great coach but once again, unilingual anglophone automatically disqualified - Talking about Calgary and Winnipeg the late game - Bieksa explains how to stop Connor
No mention of the Habs and guess what, they deserve to be ignored. Thank you Geoff Molson, you don't give a fuck and now no one else does.
Just for the record, I still believe in most of these players. I like Suzuki, Toffoli, Anderson, Caufield, Leko, Evans and Lep. Petry, Chiarot, Joel and Tsar are good defencemen. These guys did not forget how to play hockey. They are being fucked up by a junior league coach. However, I wouldn't be sad to see Drouin, Armia and a couple others hit the road.
Jeff Gorton would be a good hire, he started the Rangers rebuild and they are turning the corner. I don't know why he was fired but internal politics plays a huge role in hockey and James Dolan is a known nutjob. Gorton could bring a fresh set of eyes to the organization.
Don't know if you folks are seeing any of this stuff on Twitter but apparently molson is interviewing people for a high level position. Mellanby didn't make the cut so he resigned. Finally, the wheels are turning to replace the lame duck GM are in motion.
