  1. Nice post, reminding us of better days. Pizza has a better chance of making the playoffs than the Habs team as it is currently composed.

So from today's perspective, the last season was truly an all-out, make-or-break effort.

    They broke.

LB's hip, BBQ's ankle, TFS's knee, Munster's something, Dish's eyesight (explains his inability to see open wingers in the slot in the PP), and who knows what else.

The worst is mgmt acting like they had it all under control, and they coild ice a competitive team anyway with a paquette of smokes, a WrongSavard and the return of Druid.

    Nope

    1. No other team suffers as much injury, disease and hardship as our Habs. And more often tgan nit, tge healing takes longer than initially forecast. Do they not hsve the same supports as other teams? What ails this team is deep, I fear. The run to the SCF was a mirage brought to us by a bunch of players all going to the wall for TFS and BBQ and CHommodore. Coaching was all Jim Fanning 1981 Expos.

They are a broken team. The defence is horrid. The replacement players are inadequate. Goaltending is hit or miss and it's not Allen's fault anyway. They went as far as they could with what they had, good on them. That window has closed. Time for Geoff Molson to come clean, admit to the fans and sponsors that it is time to rebuild like the Rangers did a few years ago. Enough of this patchwork bullshit. I want an elite player to build around. Suzuki is very good but not elite. He can be a part of it though. Patience will be required but if is the path forward.

  3. Bold prediction for tonight's 5-1 loss: GI Finn scores the Habs' lone goal.

    2. I second that, LA plays the game Montreal Plays at its best, attack with speed and worry about the shrapnel later.

    and thinking himself well.

As a Biz Whiz I know that after product, marketing and cash flow

  7. Smokes in over Brooks, which baffles me. Neither are fabulous, but after last game...? After seeing every shift of Paquette's...?

  9. Wife's step bro in town so out to the Keg for the first time since 2002. Prices are still over priced, just moreso than they were 2 decades ago. Prime rib was just OK, kind of thin for my liking. Twice baked potato was smooth. Couple glasses of nice cab-sav. and a beautiful creme brulΓ©. Nice to have a rare outing to a restaurant.

  10. Good to hear from TFS. Sounds like he won't be back too soon. And he shouldn't be. Not until he is 100% ready. Not a moment before.

  11. Lots of action around the Habs net since I've turned the game on! Including a stellar save on Dano! So apples trump pizza?

  12. I didn't like any of the off season signings. Least of all David Savard. He is terrible.

    1. Not only that, but this was Ducharme putting him out there to start the third. Yeah, still not a great bench coach.

  18. Habs earned a point. But they won't know what yo do with it. OT for the first time this season.

  19. Replace Toffee with kidA on that PP to actually provide a screen and it might just work.

  20. Again, generally speaking 2 goals ain't gonna win you many games. The firstn2 goals against weren't great for Allen, but the team needs to start helping him out at the other end of the ice.

    1. Petersen was on, but too many missed shots, and zero production from the top two lines or the PP.

Bright side? Saw some third period fire in their bellies and four penalties killed. And the Sevans goal was sublime.

    1. Enough bodies on the roster or do they call up a Laval Rocket ?

Pezzetta, although energized, isn't doing much, neither is Belizle.

    2. They lost their centre early in the LA game so that made it tough to work them in as many minuted as Ducharme had probably planned. Which was twice Paquette inadvertently smoked his coach (game misconduct last game). And before that, Druid was dinged by Kadillak's shot pretty early in the game that took him out. And before that, Perrault was just finding his way as a centre with his new team when he got injured. The boys are also not getting much puck luck. EAP looking good in Laval so let's just hope he is better and not being called up too soon after rebuilding his leg strength after his recovery.

  23. Druid still out, now on IR, with headaches ever since recoiling from a hard shot straight to his temple but Ducharme (perhaps having it on good authority from Mark Recchi?) insists it is NOT A CONCUSSION!!!

    1. Savoie mal! (pun intended)

      Delete
    2. Oh, for David Savard? Yeah. Aaron Ward's take on TSN690 is he was barely a #5 - 6 D on the teams he's been with before. How Bergy determined 3 yrs and how Ducharme uses him -- always paired with Kadillak despite them clearly being a poor fit on the ice -- are evidence both are delusional. Grant McCagg adds he's not even in good shape, and the beard is a tell that he's hiding some chins. In any event, Savoie mal indeed.

  24. Lets lose like that for the rest of the year, get a top ten pick and do it again two times.
TFS will be traded this year. Colorado or Edmonton for a Kings Ransom.

I watched some of the Rocket game last night, EAP and CC looked good. I didn't notice Northlander but that's probably a good thing. I haven't watched a Habs game in weeks, I think I'll tune in tonight to have a looksee. There is football to fall back on tonight if it gets too ugly.

Ha Ha, good ol' leafool sfu ... now pushing for Campbell soup for the Canadian Olympic team. Wonder if Broken Hymen is still on their list? Why don't they just take the whole leaf over there, they are Canada's team right?
