I hear the Habs have called up Poehling and Norlinder...I joked on Twitter earlier saying that Norlinder would be centering the 4th line and that Poehling will be on the 3rd D pairing - getting no mor than 8 mins a game. Turns out Norlinder is a scratch tonight and so who knows what Poehling will get. I have no idea what he has been doing in Laval but clearly the Habs won't use him in anything resembling thatif he sees any icetime at all tonight. It's not in BBB's DNA to draft someone and then use them in the same position that they made their mark in. If he was GM in the 70's, he'd have had Shutt and Lafleur on a checking line with Gainey. Jimmy Roberts would have anchored the 1st PP unit with Jarvis, Tremblay and Gilles Lupien. Sorry but this fucking team is doing my head in right now - always playing everyone out of position is guaranteed recipe for failure without blowback blame on the coach or GM...Really glad Caufield is not playing right now. Let him have some fun in Laval until they sack this fucking bunch of assclowns and bring in someone more interested in winning than building their egos up.
Good rant. On the D problems, Chariots of Eggs seeems to be better but I think the sweet days are long gone when Dish wowed us during spells when BBQ was out.
As has been mentioned elsewhere, the biggest problem with the D is everyone is slotted too high in ranking. Petry's not a true #1 and to be honest, Weber wasn't either, he wasn't mobile enough for that role. Savard should be on the bottom pairing. Hopefully, over time, some of the young guys like Harris (if he signs), Norlinder and Guhle can fill some of the holes. I don't see any Big 3 potential in any of those guys, but maybe a Lyle Odelein or Matthieu Schneider type?
Its all with the Egyptians to clarify. https://www.habseyesontheprize.com/catching-the-torch/2021/11/11/22773697/catching-the-torch-montreal-canadiens-north-american-prospects-pyramid-sean-farrell-guhle-harris EAP is only called up due to the shortage of stripper poles due to the fire at SEXY MONTREAL.
True to his nick, EAP played the poet in his presser today, coining the term "humilitory" or possibly "humilitation" regarding his pal Cole Caufield. I'm not sure which, but I like them both.
First game I've watched in a month, a well deserved win. Somebody should tell those bone head fans singing ole with a 1 goal lead is inviting bad karma. Good thing Jake was on his game tonight.
As you could probably tell I was feeling pretty negative so I stayed away last night. Seems to have done the trick. Nature Boy still averaging a point oer game and Habs get an empty netter scored in the Flames zone. Love that. Poehling with a mind blowing 8 min but on the 4thbline I suppose that's all he can expect for now. Rest of that line didn't see that much either. No harm done. Bring on the next game while the Habs are hot baby!
My new approach is to just watch the game and not worry about winning or losing. Standings? Don't care. Playoffs? Ditto. Draft? Schmaft. Live in the moment.
Kudos to Suzuki, Evans, Allen and the Hoff, all had very good games last night.
Habs D (lots of culprits) has been struggling mightily.
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen a solid PMD since Vodkov.
Remember when the Top 3 D could defend and rush and score ?
Remember when DGMB refused to call #19 ?
Bergy only likes s.a.h.d. built in his image. In retrospect, the Habs should have taken Quinn Hughes in 2018.
DeleteWe didn't realize just how good Vodkov was.
Also, Remember
ReplyDeleteHeh, just thought about giving the SFU 'The Bird'.

ReplyDeleteToo much...? Too soon...? Meh...
DeleteNope, not too soon. Good fodder for discussion.
DeleteGood rant. On the D problems, Chariots of Eggs seeems to be better but I think the sweet days are long gone when Dish wowed us during spells when BBQ was out.
DeletePetry needs J.Ed back ASAP to get his game in gear.
DeleteNice post, moeman! Big Birds aplenty.

DeleteEAP is only called up due to the shortage of stripper poles due to the fire at SEXY MONTREAL.
Gee I thought maybe the Habs hired Larry for a role with the team when I saw the thread. Should've been 10 years ago...
ReplyDeleteWell, go Habs. I guess.
Good luck lunchhPail.

ReplyDeleteSavoieMal and Kadillak together again tonight, and starting the game too.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Bet they get scored on early.
DeleteIt happened.
DeleteBig Ben !
ReplyDeleteET LE BUUUUUUUTT...
ReplyDeleteGlad I got rds back...
More goals than any other Hab. Go Eggs!
DeleteNice backhand buddy...
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or does Calgary look fast?
ReplyDeletePretzel excluded.
DeleteEven though I don't understand 99% of what the RDS guys are saying, it's still infinitely better than listening to fucking gary galley.
ReplyDeleteYour French will only improve. Il rate le cible (he missed the target) is a favourite.
DeleteEspecially with Leko, lol
DeleteGood jobs by Belzile and Pez to draw a penalty. Now cash it!
ReplyDeleteNot a bad game so far
ReplyDeleteLep!
ReplyDeleteLep!!!
ReplyDeleteEt la busculade...
DeleteThat Gudbranson is a dirty fuck
ReplyDeleteGood on Toffee for coming in there with the cross check.
DeleteI don't think these refs are really in control of this game. Look out boys.
ReplyDeleteEatPizza already seems to have a bad rep with Bettman's zebras.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm 100% sure it's because of the sweater he is wearing.
DeleteI miss Lb on the PK.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to former Moosehead and Habs draft pick FU Fucale finally getting his first start in the NHL with the Caps at the age of 26.
ReplyDeleteYES!
DeleteLove how Lep causes complete chaos in the crease! Alliteration!
ReplyDeleteEAP is having a great game
ReplyDeleteEAP bloody mouth but only a 2 minute high sticking penalty...
ReplyDeleteDrawing lots of penalties... need a urologist stat! MAB or the Wiz needed
ReplyDeleteNature Boy!
ReplyDeleteWow.
DeleteNature!!
ReplyDeleteOooooooooo... tricky!
ReplyDeleteGlobal warming is for real; Nature's on fire! GYFHG!!
ReplyDeleteHow good is Suzuki? He's nearly a point per game player. On this team.
ReplyDeleteHang on boys!
ReplyDeleteGood game. Good team win.
ReplyDeleteππ»
DeleteWhat a difference an effective fourth line makes.
DeleteYes, Sevans! Dano who?
ReplyDeleteFirst game I've watched in a month, a well deserved win. Somebody should tell those bone head fans singing ole with a 1 goal lead is inviting bad karma. Good thing Jake was on his game tonight.
ReplyDeleteNow you’re talkin’
ReplyDeleteAfter the effort EAP just put in, I think Ducharme should confiscate his OPUS pass. (That one's for Montrealers).
ReplyDeleteIn other news, Tuna scored his first as a Devil and Fucale became the first Capitals goalie to earn a shutout in his first NHL game. Kudos to both.

Kadillak and Dish, Powerhorse, Toffee, Lep all had good games too.
DeleteI can see a run jellin. There are forces none of us understand. These forces can win you a cup.
ReplyDeleteI hear there is a GM job available in Anaheim. Just sayin'...
