  2. You know what...I could play the "tank" game for one more night but you know what, the way things go, the Habs will end up trading the pick for the PLD circus anyway and you all know how little I want to see that happen...so what's the point? The only thing I've got tonight is what I'll always bring to a Habs game...JUST FUCKING WIN!

Love and Hate, and the Pretenders. What motivates the Bears more. Imporving on their false equicalcy record as the GOAT team in NHL history, thats love. But do they destroy Montreal chances in the lottery by losing on purpose, thats hate. Knowing the Broons they go with hate. DO NOT FEED THE HATERS

@UK3X, not to worry, HuGo are not trading their 1st round pick unless it is for McJesus. Now, FLA's pick for Jean Luc, that I can see. However, if Bedard lands in HuGo's lap all bets are off for PLD, they won't need him. He would have to take quite a discount to play in Montreal.

OK, time for some Star Trek Picard, Engage!

  16. Montreal forward Brendan Gallagher revealed on Friday that he broke his ankle — twice — this season. The veteran said he broke his ankle blocking a shot in the 12th game of the season, then tried to play through the injury, only to break it again. Gallagher said, in hindsight, this was a bad idea and that he'd have to be smarter in the future.
Fellow forward Sean Monahan had a similar admission, revealing that attempting to play on a broken foot led to the groin injury that ended his season early.

It's different management but the same issue. In the 2021 cup run, Do Harm insisted on playing the obviously injured Gallagher, Toffoli and another important player who eludes me at the moment vs Tampon Bay, while you had fresh young players like KK in the press box. I hope to hell they've learned their lesson this year and if not then somebody on the medical staff needs to go. Dr Mulder must be about 137 years old by now, maybe some new blood with new ideas will keep these players and their egos off the ice when they shouldn't be there.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer12:42 PM

They both admitted they screwed up trying to play with injuries. If they aren't truthful with the medical staff not much can be done. It sounds like most of them have realized they can't do that shite hence so many of them out. Matheson got his bell rung last night and they shut him down. Same as Hoff the game before. You have to think they have used up all the bad luck injury-wise by now.

Sounds like Monahan would like to come back for another season. Edmundson too. I would keep these two vets around for another year to help with the transition. Players like Barron and Farrell can percolate in the AHL for another year. Laval could end up a powerhouse with all the prospects next year. It wouldn't be a bad thing to win a championship in the minors.

This is a fucking rant. Its about the big playoff in the sky and the one here on earth and how they both are not the best.
We used to live in this world where things made sense. Now at the macro level the deep state is pushing for war everywhere. Today they ask Japan to bake the Sachln Islands.\
At the micro level you cant ride the TTC without witness to or a victim of some Mad Max crazy.

But close to home its disgraceful what has happened. The non scandal scandal. SNC Laval, nothing burger, We nothing burger,
Chinese influence, soon to be announced, nothing burger, The Trudeau foundation, nothing burger with no burger there.

Still our journalist find scandal. Our media giants want to topple something. They love some Penis Penis in their soup. The question is why. Why when we have such a good thing going do they want to destroy it???

I have a history degree from Western which is Ontario's McGill for History majors. I have thought deeply and in the end realized,
like Ford, not Doug Ford, not Rob Ford, but the Chonicles of Zion Ford said "history is bunk" The victorious leader of America over Iraq said " In history in the end we are all dead"
So very successful people who have pulled off huge nebulous movements that may have netted them billions of dollars say dont look at history. I am like the Taxi driver, you looking at me. I am like Jack " you cant handle the truth"

What I propose to save the world is a council of the greatest history majors of all time. Any move made by any government we can veto. Its just lke when Toronto Team calls a goal back, thats us. Sorry you used racism, and nationalism/tribalism to meet your objective, thats not a goal!

"If we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it". This was said by somebody much smarter than me.

If Justin Trudeau was smart he would learn from New Brunswick Liberal Premier Frank McKenna who governed from 1987 to 1997. He said when he was elected he would only do 10 years and them step down, as that seems to be about how long people will tolerate any politician who is in power. If JT doesn't want Portapotty and his gang of republican wannabes to take over, he needs to step aside gracefully. Soon.

I got into a playoff pool at one of the local bars. First one in at least 4 years (pre-covid). I'll at least keep an eye on some games now. You had to pick 12 forwards, 6 D and 2 goalies plus you had to use a salary cap. Also, you could only take a max of 3 players per team. McD was too expensive but I got Leon, Yamamoto and Ekholm from the Oil, Nate, Leko and Byram from the Avs plus a smattering of East guys. Should be fun!

Picard was great and a fitting finale for the TNG cast, unlike the awful Nemesis movie. I hope they do a spinoff with Captain Seven of Nine (who's still hot btw) and the new Enterprise. I just wish they would drop the letter after NCC-1701, once the old ship is retired who cares? You can distinguish the different models of the ship by the class, Constitution, Excalibur, Galaxy, etc. Trekkers know the difference.

I took a hockey break yesterday, we are bingeing The Last Ship on Amazon Prime. I like it, sure was predictive of the Covid epidemic.

I watched the Jets game Saturday, PLD was engaged in that game, there is NO comparison between him and Droumez, PLD would be a big (literally) addition to the Habs. Actually, I recorded and watched the U18 game yesterday morning. I was super impressed with Colby Barlow, he reminded me a lot of Powerhorse, big, fast and goes to the dirty areas.

  68. So Round 3 of the Q playoffs is set, with the Gatineau Olympiques (with Habs prospect Riley Kidney, playing in moeman's backyard) facing Patrick Roy's Québec Remparts. Meanwhile the other Roy's Sherbrooke Castors (that was their name in the 80s when I used to go see them play) will face the Halifax Mooseheads, in Saint Pad's backyard.

  69. Random thoughts;

    - a broons win tomorrow bags the Habs FLAs pick at #17
    - HuGo will have lots of picks to make or move
    - anyone surprised at the shitty reffing ?
    - LA Kings are better than I thought, imagine Bergy going to another Finals
    - I've said in the past that the leaf situation in regards to their media stooges will get worse before it (n)ever gets better, I can see the refs erring and the sfu just looking the other way
    - Id've liked, erm, loved to see Stamkos knock the porn stache off of Narco's shitgrinning face

    I could see a top 6 of:
    CC Nature PLD
    MonaHab Dach Powerhorse

Dvo traded, G.I. Finn bought out, the Hoff sticks around until the TDL.

If, IF, the Habs land Bedard, I could see either Monahan or Josh dropping to the 3rd line.

PLD has proven he can be a playoff monster. With Dach, Nature and PLD we are a three headed beast. Just like the Leaf but 20 years younger, more powerful, more skilled and bigger hearts. Plus we dont pull our pants down in public.
I say we make the PLD deal with the Flordia pick and sacrifice Jordan Harris or Struble or some swedish guy.

The Jets beat reporter over at leafnet wrote a scathing article last night. Sounds like there were many culprits regarding the Jets ouster and it may be time to reload or rebuild with many of their core players coming up into UFA. In the Jets defence however, Vegas pulled the Julien BriseBois special and the Pissers were $10 mil over the cap once the playoffs began. Plus, losing Morrissey, Ehlers and Shitflea didn't help. As for PLD, the one game I watched he was engaged and trying hard. Is he perfect? Of course not, who is? Look at Suzuki's +/-, not good and I saw more than a few brain cramps from him. It happens. PLD will be a good complimentary player, Montreal is Nick Suzuki's team. All that being said, I would not overpay for the guy, in players or money and I don't think Kent Hughes will, he is in the driver's seat. Finally, if the Habs win the lottery again, to buttman's chagrin, that changes everything.

    4. steve6:30 PM

In short I agree with M. We payed little for Drouin but it turned out to be a robbery.
PLD has some baggage. Two teams he quit on. He would never be a star on brokeback Mt where they stars cant quit on anyone.
I am with the get him for free crowd. We do not need him next year. Okay the Peg trades him to WHO? For Rodger Daltlery. So I expect the Peg who are clusterfucking as an organization that has never been seen before in NHL history, would be happy with the Panthers First and
a bag of puck, how about Nealander, you want more well we got Joel Teasdale and his best friend.
I wrote this back in 2011 and it has been precient that there will be no Peg NHL team in two years.
      https://thinkingaboot.blogspot.com/2011/06/peg-hockey-wives-winnipeg-highlights.html
Sudbury would have had a better chance. If QC city is not viable, what is the PEG?
The Peg is going to Houston or even more Ironic Atlanta, ha ha ha, those fans are still furious about the loss.

So the Peg destruction will be an earthquake of stars falling from the sky to seek better ice in north america. Its not just PLD, its Hellbuck, it Seffelie, its every one they have, that has to leave now. They are all tainted with the death brush of being pussy. I did not say they shoot and play like girls, just to be clear.
Smorgasboard of plane crash with dazzled hockey players emegring from the wreck
      unscathed.
I think I know what is wrong with the team in the PEG. Look two coaches have self destructed with this talented team. They have a GOD squad that has Jesus playing left wing.

  92. the Maritimer12:24 PM

Further to all the Jean Luc chatter, even some of the SFU clowns are chiming in. Word on the street is the leadership core in Winnipeg (mostly Wheeler and maybe Shitflea) has been terrible, a poisonous atmosphere in the room. So, PLD goes from one shitshow (Torts) to another. Laine wanted out of Winnipeg as well and got his wish. It's going to very interesting leading up to the Draft in June.
