I came back from a long pause and cosidered the trajectory of the future. The Leaf has used up the stars and an onow on the decliine. We are still soaring at mil cap hits. Do not stop the futr
Watching this game and reality is kinda setting in. The wretched leaf are a legit playoff team. We love our players but the Habs are a long, long way from being contenders. I would estimate the only Habs players that could make tranna are Nature, MnM and MAYBE Lep. That's it.
Don't know who thinks of or digs up these stats but saw this posted on the Twitter. Matheson has surprised me a lot this year. What a great.move by HuGo.
Most points - @CanadiensMTL defenceman in any 30 game span of a season (since 1995): 31- P.K. Subban (2012-13) 30- Andrei Markov (2005-06) 29- Sheldon Souray (2006-07) 28- Andrei Markov (2007-08) 27- Mike Matheson (Since Jan 31) 27- Shea Weber (2019-20) 27- Jeff Petry (2020-21)
I've only caught snippets of this game but enough to confirm that Hoffman is still the master of the blind back pass to either nobody or the opposition.
Okay stay the course, dont let any anti tank mines like RHP on the ice surface. Put Hoffman in net, still a chance Panthers give us a mid level pick. Same for Calgary. Barbra Plavin hmmm.
I am pretty disappointed to see the Eyes on the Prize did not make the transition. This site has a lot of benifits, however detailed hockey talk is not deep, its got a lot of surface, but not deep. ETOP had so many links and stuff, I can never understand the HABS world the same again. However maybe it really does not matter I know the 5 th round draft picks parents. Anyway, soon there will be this site and the scoreboard. The TSN/SNL stuff is so stinky I have to wash my hand if I accidenly click. The fucking SUN media bull crap I cant handle. I like the reports but I cant handle the truth I am supporting a bunch of
The idea of a paywall in the world of the internet. So I treausre your opinoin so much I will pay for it, well its possible but I have not yet meet that opinion. Unless they are telling me how to look 40 when I am sixty I am not paying a cent.
The Dan Rathers and Peter Mansbridges of the world, perhaps. But Paul Wells?? Or author of the "axis of evil" himself, whatshisface editor of the Atlantic??? In their dreams.
Watching the IIHF women's World championship game on RDS2 with my daughter, who's almost 10, and blown away to see it's not just men who get to play, (and on TV in front of a packed arena), and Canada is leading the USA 2-1 in the third, and this papa is goddamn chuffed! She thinks it's so cool even the refs are women.
And Canada scored to make it 4-1 but it was called back on legitimate goalie interference, then on a 100% disgustingly, blait's OTtantly offside play, despite a lengthy review, they award the USA with a goal to make it 3-2 with 39 seconds to play. Bad call, but then the Americans tie it with 4 seconds left. On to you, M-P Poulin. It's OT and in no time at all, Poulin draws a penalty.
Well FLA takes a point from the leaf. Isles crap the best vs WAS. But the Habs still hold fate of the FLA pick...lose to NYI...and Canes beat FLA...and Pens get 3 of 4 points vs CHI and CBS, then the Panthers miss and its pick 15 or 16...depends on what a couple of west teams do.
Interesting to the last night despite the position in the standings.
If they make the playoffs, the Habs' pick could go way later, should the maternal-copulator Panthers advance past the first round. But the maternal-copulation-prone Broons should put a stop to that, so maybe I shouldn't give such a huge human stool about it.
And like the M said, if the m-c Panthers happen to win a series or two, that pick most likely gets traded. Heck even if it's #15 it might get traded in a Dach-esque deal. For PLD I suppose...*still not convinced on him*.
Heh, mofo is much easier to type but I appreciate the effort to not piss off blogger. I got away with one the other night against the putrid leaf and their mofo coach.
Losing to the worst team in the league, most likely ending your chance at a playoff spot. Yep, embarrassing is the only word.
F the Pens and I truly hope the NYI win their game vs the Laval Rocket tonight to put them (Pens) out of their misery. Then they might as well ship Sid off to Montreal for the last few years of his career.
I've always wanted Sid to be a Hab. He's still in great shape and is still capable of putting up numbers. I just took a look on Capfriendly, he's got two years left on his current contract at $8.7 mil. Kent Hughes should give Burkie a call and say: "I can help you speed up your rebuild if you want. Your window is just about shut if not closed."
Here's my pitch: Dvo, Florida's pick 2023, Logan of London, and another prospect, say Ylonen or Kidney, e.g.
Montreal can easily afford Sid with Dvo, Droumez, LB, MonaHab coming off the books. I think Sid could transform the Habs into a serious threat next year.
NO. We must resist such urges. No old tired end of career types please. We are fresh and looking to build a future we don't need 8.7 m tied up in him. See Savard Denis see Rekki Doctor. Drive the tank get them young stay the course. Go Habs
Hey CHester, not to worry, Sid isn't coming to Montreal. That was just my little pipe dream although I would argue he would not be the same as Savard and Dr. Recchi. And, HuGo can't keep or sign everybody in the pipeline. There just isn't enough space. Anyway, hopefully next year the team can stay healthy and grow together. There are probably two more painful years left for Habs fans.
As most older Habs fans are aware, the despicable Boston Bruins have just broken a long standing record formerly held by the mighty 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for most points in a season with 132. Records are made to be broken but I would point out things are different today with the opportunity for teams to get extra points in OT/SO. The 2022-23 Bruins won 11 games in that fashion giving them an extra 11 points. Credit to them for doing so. I would submit if that Canadiens team had been able to play for an extra point (they had 12 ties that year) their point total would have been even more than 132. Thankfully, there is one record still standing from the '76-77 season that will not be broken, only 8 regulation losses. BTW, Stevie Yzerman's Red Wings broke the 60 win record back in the late 90's, I think, with 62.
It would be laughable if the beaners lost in the 1st round but I don't think so. I can't see anybody in the eastern conference beating them. Or the west.
Feist
ReplyDeleteF. The. Leaf.
ReplyDeleteSeravalli is one of the best out there. Believe him.
Wow.
ReplyDeleteWas that actually published on the toronto sports network?
Wonder if he'll keep his job after that.
Go Habs

ReplyDeleteWe can not come under the AZ lets live it at 6, We might get the Russkie everyone is afraid of.
ReplyDeleteI keep saying and believing it, the Habs are going to win the lottery.
DeleteFor the last time this season...Just Fucking Win!
ReplyDeleteAnd here we go with the bs penalties
ReplyDeleteJHFFB! Phoque da Leaf
ReplyDeleteGood kill
ReplyDeleteAnother penalty...please
ReplyDeleteF U refs you f^^king donkeys.
ReplyDelete1 shot on goal in the period. Zero shots on the PP looking for that perfect pass. Tank mode.
ReplyDeleteHence I am watching CAN vs SUI in the curling semi finals instead.
DeleteThey shouldn't have to clean the leaf end of the ice.
ReplyDeleteHabs might need to take a few more shots on goal in the 2nd.
ReplyDeleteOnly took them 20 seconds to get a shot...things are looking up
ReplyDeleteHondaCivic?
ReplyDeleteMonty will want the 4th one back...sof...
ReplyDeleteWheels are falling off, Tank revving up, Bedard or Fantilli is the reward.
ReplyDeleteSome good news --- AZ won today, puts the Habs back in the 5 hole in the draft, makes it easier to win that lottery pick.
ReplyDeleteJust saw that.
DeleteAnd Habs have NYI & BOS while the Yotes have SEA & VAN.
I like the chances for 5th.
Now need the Caps to handle FLA tonight and it'll be all good.
Canada and the Swiss BTW trading singles back and forth. 3-2 for CAN. 5 ends down, 5 to go.
ReplyDeleteWatching this game and reality is kinda setting in. The wretched leaf are a legit playoff team. We love our players but the Habs are a long, long way from being contenders. I would estimate the only Habs players that could make tranna are Nature, MnM and MAYBE Lep. That's it.

Can't blame Full Monty tonight, been a shooting gallery out there.
ReplyDeleteI've only caught snippets of this game but enough to confirm that Hoffman is still the master of the blind back pass to either nobody or the opposition.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the last of him and Droumez, nobody will take him, I'm hoping for a buyout of that last year. Thanks for nuthin' bergy
DeleteMorse code mode
DeleteSure, run up the score Sheldon you fuck, that's gonna come back to bite you.
ReplyDeleteNo honour in that putrid outfit.
ReplyDeleteI'm calling it...leaf don't make last 5 games with the Bolts...
ReplyDeleteLet's hope.
DeleteOkay stay the course, dont let any anti tank mines like RHP on the ice surface. Put Hoffman in net, still a chance Panthers give us a mid level pick. Same for Calgary. Barbra Plavin hmmm.
ReplyDeleteFlorida makes the playoffs and knocks off whoever they play in the 1st round. That pick goes to somebody in a trade at Draft day.

ReplyDeleteNo, we are not saying anything. Thinking, maybe; saying...
DeleteOh come on, Islanders! You can do this!
ReplyDeleteWatching the IIHF women's World championship game on RDS2 with my daughter, who's almost 10, and blown away to see it's not just men who get to play, (and on TV in front of a packed arena), and Canada is leading the USA 2-1 in the third, and this papa is goddamn chuffed! ReplyDeleteDeciding it in a shootout. Ouf, that's just wrong.
ReplyDeleteJenner!
ReplyDeleteDesbiens (Canada's goalie) with a big save!
ReplyDeleteAnd another by Desbiens (after Poulin whiffs)
DeleteDesbiens again!
ReplyDeleteRattray wins it for Canada, scoring in the 9th round of a shootout that should never have taken place, but go Canada Women!
ReplyDeleteCan Desbiens play for the Habs? Looked clutch.
ReplyDeleteIt's her bday too. Cool!

ReplyDeleteHeh, mofo is much easier to type but I appreciate the effort to not piss off blogger. I got away with one the other night against the putrid leaf and their mofo coach.
DeleteSame fûcking thread for the NYI game and then a final in-season one for the fúcking broons.
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me how to put the accent symbols over letters? Never been able to figure that out.
ReplyDeleteWindows or Mac or phone/tablet? Otherwise, copy the ones I type and put them in a notepad/text document.
ReplyDeleteThanks I'll give it a try.
DeleteIf using an android phone or tablet you can hold down on the letter and lots of accented.options appear êēëèée
DeleteI see y'all's favourite Ana de Armas is hosting SNL this weekend. I'll have to DVR that one.
ReplyDeleteCHester is prepped and focused.
DeleteI think she should be the FHFs poster girl.
So hot.
Go Habs
I am embarrassed for the Penguins.

I would gladly take Sid in a heartbeat. Time for a rebuild in Pitt anyway. After they fire Hack-stall.

ReplyDeleteShiny Happy Pitlick!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty one hander from the knee by the Captain!
ReplyDeleteAnd a shortie, forgot to mention.
DeleteMissed Nature's goal
ReplyDeleteOuch, looks like Hoff got a shoulder injury there right at the end.
ReplyDeleteWhy not. Make him totally untradeable in the off season if he wasn't already...
DeleteDid the Tankathon spin today, got 6' 2" C Adam Fantilli at #2 and 6' 3" C Matthew Wood at #18.
ReplyDeleteSome smurfs will be leaving town eventually.
Am I the only one who is absolutely overjoyed that the Habs are not being forced to end their season playing the leaf on a Saturday night in Tranna?
