    1. Apple TV: For All Mankind. Lots if great "What If?" drama. Starts with the USSR putting a man on the moon in June, 1969 and keeps going. Very cool. Good acting all around.

So they’ve fingered the London five
    Four are active NHL players
    Doesn’t look good for them
    Feel for EM
Getting jumped by a gang of thugs
And then paid off from a slush fund
    What a mess
    Sad
    Go Habs

    1. Carter Hart won't be back on the Flyers. Local boy CP30 or Jake Allen would be just the ticket.

    2. It's a mess for sure. I'm not defending any of those 5 but it might be hard to prove. If they are found guilty I would guess their NHL careers are over.

The young guy in Laval still has that stigma hanging over him.

      Delete
    3. Yeah how does one prove an old case if there isn't video evidence? I just don't know. The only hope is that one of the five (def not happening) or one of the others that were there grow a conscience and tell the real story (and I wouldn't give any of those horrendous gambling sites a nickel to bet on that happening either).

I too hope EM gets justice and closure. It's going to be a tough go for her.

    4. I'm pretty sure the Code of Silence will be invoked here. I can't see any of them ratting on the other. Formenton has already asked that he not be judged until all the facts come out, which is fair.

I read somewhere that one of them pressured her into admitting on video that it was consensual
he kept repeating it till she said yes
I saw shit like this a couple of times at high school parties
Drunk girl and a room full of decrepid morans just watching and waiting their turn
It fucks the girl up forever
But you know if you are in the room and not stopping it you're guilty point final
Sad for the girl and sad for young players I expect they go to jail and she goes to therapy
Nobody wins least of all Hockey Canada and the London cops who clearly tried to sweep this under the rug
Fucked up shit top to bottom
    Go Habs

    1. Bottom line, all the players involved, Hockey Canada and the London Police should ALL be ashamed of themselves for either perpetrating the act or trying to cover it up. Especially the adults who were trying to protect some NHL careers and rake in their $millions. Unfortunately, that young woman put herself in a bad situation but kudos to her for having the courage to come forward and expose a rotten culture.

  5. Lindholm traded from Calgary to Vancouver. The first domino falls. Pretty sure MoneyHab will be up next, sure gonna miss that guy.

Another headline at toronto sports network: Drury taking calls for Kappo. There might be some smoke there...

  6. Geez, I just saw the story of Mickey Ribs being on trial for rape in Texas. Says if found guilty he could face up to 50 years in prison. I know, innocent until proven guilty... but in general why are so many male athletes complete scum bags? So many domestic abuse and sexual assault stories, from all of the major sports, NFL being the worst, with NBA not far behind, but hockey is catching up...sadly (or maybe it's just being discovered that it was always as bad as those others).

  8. I just read Rick Westhead's latest article on the London sexual assault case. Man, it is actually sickening to even think about what those guys did. It's hard for me to understand how someone would willingly be a part of it. It's awful.

  9. I have to admit I tuned into the shitshow briefly last night to see what it was about and for the 5 minutes I watched, the best words I can use to describe it would be 'extremely cringeworthy'. I was actually embarrassed as a hockey fan that this was somehow decided to be the best format for this event.

MonaHab to WinterPeg Jets for a first and conditional pick as per Darrin DragHer of The Toronto Sports Network.

    1. If true, it bodes well for re-signing him in July. No one of sane mind would choose to live in Winnipeg over Montreal.

  11. The biggest downside I see is for Monahan himself, who must now reconcile having ShitFly for a teammate. Have fun with that eh? Wish him the best. He helped us get our LastSlaf up to speed.

    ReplyDelete
  12. So long $Hab. Sadly, I cannot wish you well because of Shitfly. Who knows, maybe we'll see you back. But I think Hughes will be aiming higher and he can use the two firsts and conditional 3rd he got for you to make that happen.

Wonder if that toxic dressing room has been fixed.
Sad for MonaHab to be sentenced to a term there
That's a lot of heavy lifting on top of performance on the ice.
I'm guessing he liked The Room at the bell centre
Love to resign him in July if the mosquitoes don't carry him off
    Go Habs

Happy for Mony getting some playoff time.

Be fun to see the Jets slip down the standings a bit too.

    Always liked Winnipeg until $hitfly.

    Still really like the Canucks.

  15. Kent Hughes is a man of his word. So long and many thanks Sean Monahan, it's been some time since the Habs had a player of your caliber on the team. As far as I'm concerned he was the defacto #1 center and worth far more than a low pick. Like someone suggested maybe Hughes can package some picks like he did last year to get Hook.

So, they only have two centers now, Nick and Jake. Wonder how that will pan out? Going to be a big fall down the standings now.

I am a hockey fan. That is the basement, but in the penthouse are the CLub du Hockey Montreal. I admit it if its not by team its not part of my history. So I am in respect of the Monohab deal. However its not going to push the needle that hits ths stanley cup before the whole in ref to Jim Morrison, explodes. I am talking about the place the NHL takes a dump. The NHL takes more dumps than any other professinal sport. Are yu a fan of the NHL, well even if you dont want to go to that place, you are likely going to experiece some excremet splatter in your cognivite dissonence.

The Monhab trade was genius. Tesla was a genius but he died without a penny while the other guy made billions and billions of Patents.
I am trying to say a 27 pick is not going to solve global warrimng.

Next up I am fed up with the disrespect for Russian Hockey players, They put on their gloves one time at a time. The war in Ukraine is an obcenity. Dont blame the players, blame the game.
You can not have a best on best without RUssia. Its like Kramer getting his black belt facing 12 year olds.
Last part of my rant. I welcome expanision. It may not be good hockey , in fact it will be AHL hockey
but its always more fun when you have men playing with children.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am going to only judge the MoneyHab trade by what HuGo manages to acquire with all his picks including the Jets. All I can say is it better be good, better than an injury prone center and a so-so winger.

The next two and a half months will be shit hockey. And I'm tired of getting my face rubbed in it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Adieu MONAhab...merci beaucoup. Anyone thinking the Habs got a 1st and a 3rd for him is delusional. Jets ain't winning the Cup and that 3rd only counts if they do. Still, it does give the Habs some leverage. They need a goal scorer.
    RIP Carl Weathers
Does anyone apart from new hockey fans and people who support the leaf actually give a shit about the all Star exhibition? I do remember when it used to be an actual all star game rather than something you'd see in a fairground. Nice mid season break for us is all I see it as. Can't even imagine how sickening it must be given that it's in tranna...so much jizz all over the studios of tsn...

  19. They only play one game before Saturday's and Sunday's annual SB afternoon back-to-backs. Stephens has been effective in Laval so will likely be back for Tuesday's tilt, at least, while TJ should be ready to return by the weekend. Not sure how great he is at C but if the team tanks down the stretch, at least we'll know jow badly they'll need a fully recovered DaCH for next season.

    1. Caufield & Slaf, assuming Slovakia has a team...would be my only locks. And Caufield might squeeze in as a bottom line or extra player.

Monty maybe if he turns into a bona fide #1 goalie next year and plays lights out. But I highly doubt it.

Suzuki would be a very long shot , maybe the extra forward at best but I doubt it and wouldn't put money on it.

  21. When you get a 48 hour snow storm, do you do a shovel midway through it or wait til it's over? In the past I've always gone out mid storm to do one, but it's blowing so hard I feel that would be futile. So for now I wait and enjoy the warmth of the inside.

    4. I can still handle the small dumps. There are a couple of guys in the neighborhood with tractors/snowblowers for the big ones.

  22. CHester12:20 PM

No point going out mid storm
what you shovel will just blow back in
Take out your best scotch put on a space movie and chill till it blows over.
Then call your kids to come and dig you out
Biggest decision is whether to order all dressed pizza or club sandwitch.
Life is too short to spend it shoveling.
and CHester thinks there will be nary a Hab on Team Canada.
Maybe Slaf on Slovakia and maybe Whiskey on the Excited States like St Pad thinks.

    1. Agreed on Team Canada. Slaf for sure on Slovakia and I think CC and Lane will make Team ESA.

The rest of the team aren't even all star material. Second and Third stringers at best. And I'm not saying that to mean, it's just what my (admittedly old) eyes tell me.

On second thought, maybe Guhle could make the Team Canada D like PFK did. As a 7th or 8th guy.

  23. Re: all-star crap, haven't looked at that since the early 90s. The original premise in the 6 team league was the Stanley Cup champs played the best of the rest of the league. That would be interesting but expansion ruined that. East vs West was OK until there were too many teams. It should just be abolished and let the players have the week off to go south and recuperate.

RIP Carl Weathers, I've only watched the first two Rocky movies once each but Predator I've watched many times. Liked him in that film. Carl was the old guy on the motorcycle that picks up Gronk in the latest commercial regarding the Kick of Destiny event for Super Bowl 58. I looked that up out of curiosity, didn't recognize him at the time.

  25. I just watched the documentary "Chosen One: The Alexandre Daigle Story" on Amazon Prime. It's kind of a tragic story, worth the watch. We often forget the pressure put on these 18 year old kids to sometimes save a franchise.

I'm really looking forward to the remake of Road House on Amazon to be released next month, starring Jake Gyllenhal and Connor Macgregor. I loved the original movie with Patrick Swayze, there were some actual karate moves in the fight scenes. Swayze did some training before he took the role.

And I thought last night I had a good chance so I put $2 on both games going to OT, which would have paid me $30. COL/NYR did it, but of course the leaf effed it up in the last 2 minutes. I was very torn at the time...but losing $30 to see the leaf lose is well worth it.

    1) Full Monty is obviously the No.1 so,
    2) Trade Primeau to Philthy, he has a better chance to start there, Hart is doubtful to ever return
    3) Keep Jake for another year at least maybe more, he is a decent backup and
    4) That lets Dobes and Fowler develop for another couple years and see what they have.
