It is a fantastic movie, Margot is worth the price of admission but great acting all around.

Watched Napoleon on AppleTV+. Just OK.

    1. I loved Oppenheimer but I'm biased towards historical shows anyway. It is a long haul, I split it in half, did 1.5 each night. Great acting all around as proven by all the awards it's received. It should clean up at the Oscars.

    2. It was exemplary. And entertaining.

Other than my Anna I couldn’t think of someone more deserving of another month than Ms Robbie
I’m wondering if Hugo will be pulling the trigger on savard
Although we have exciting prospects in the D pipeline we still see game after game of not exactly defensive dominance
I’m guessing Hugo is asking for the moon for Chewie cause that’s what it would take to pry him loose
Also I read an amusing article musing about trading Majik Mike
    That’s not happening
Anyway that spanking the leaf was given by the beaners last game was hilarious
The beaners are so in the heads of the leaf
The leaf will never beat them in the playoffs and everyone down the 401 knows it
    Go Habs

I know we won’t be in the post season so I’ll be watching the leaf crash and burn hopefully at the hands of the beaners

  21. Is it too much to ask the Habs to win their next 36 games? 20 in the regular season to grab a wild card and then sweep the playoffs. I think the best route through the playoffs for me would be Rangers/Canes/Bruins or leaf/Jets.

  31. I see Toffoli's name on the 'experts' lists. I still wish Hughes hadn't traded him. It was very early in his tenure and I guess he wanted to show what he could do. But Toffee is that secondary scoring we are so sorely lacking. Looking at the players we got for him, I doubt if Assman (Heineman) will ever be a regular NHL player, Mesar is doing well in junior but remains to be seen if he will be a solid 2nd/3rd line player, and the goalie they grabbed last year...well he's the interesting Russian prospect putting up amazing numbers but I don't know about the quality of competition in the Russian junior league. He has a 22-4-4 record, 1.57GAA and 0.938 save% (considering we have Fowler at Boston U too, Monty's 3 year contract might be just the right length until these guys are ready).

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree, the return for Toffee was underwhelming. Heineman is a 4th liner, Mesar probably trade bait, who knows about a Russian goalie, meanwhile Tyler kept doing what he does best, score goals.

We can see the focus of Hugo has been on defence pretty much since the get go which in hockey also includes goalies. We presently have three on our roster a couple in laval and three that we just picked. From that bunch we should get a couple of keepers and like Saint Paddy says with Monty's contract expiring in three years the timing looks good. I can understand Hugo keeping his powder dry when in comes to Chewie. I don't think Henrique was worth a first rounder ( he is 34) and I don't think that the Snores got value back for Tarestinko. You can smell the desperation out there. It's interesting being on the outside looking in. Our time will come. I am just a little itchy for Hugo to turn their focus on the offence. If they do as good a job with that as they did with the defence we should be sitting pretty for some time to come.

  35. Even though it was an off-season move, this time of year always reminds me of one of my top five moments in Habs history. And that is Josh Gorges saying F U to the wretched leaf. That will be 10 years ago on June 30th. I think it should be a national holiday, stretch Canada Day to a two day affair. June 30th is Futronna Day! Anyway I got looking back at those reports and it's a good reminder of a couple of things: a) maybe the cupboard isn't as stocked as we think/hope and b) remember the 'experts' really have no more idea than we do until a trade is actually made.

Gorges had one goal and 13 assists in 66 games last season.

The Canadiens have several young, lower-paid defencemen believed to be ready for the NHL, including Nathan Beaulieu, Jarred Tinordi, Greg Pateryn and even Magnus Nygren, who fled the AHL Bulldogs last season to return to Sweden.

The move fed speculation that the Canadiens are seeking to free up money in an attempt to sign unrestricted free agent Dan Boyle, a 37-year-old right-shooting defenceman who notched 32 points in 75 games last season for the San Jose Sharks.

But he turns 20 at the end of this month. He should be working on strength and endurance in the off season and could be a monster next season. I admit to being very skeptical of the pick at the time, but he may be just the top pick of that draft. Time will tell.

I think the genial and mercurial Boy genius in Pittsburgh has sunk that organization with his puzzling acquisition of another 30 something player in Erik Karlsson. They are on the cusp of a rebuild whether they like it or not. Take a look around Sid, you definitely have options. Actually, Sid might be the guy Rejean Tremblay was blathering about for Jeff Gorton to go get this summer like he did with Panarin.

  87. A fellow New Brunswicker over at EOTP has proposed a deal and some some sound reasons for Syd to make the transition from the sinking ship in Pittsburgh to the on the rise Montreal Canadiens. I think he offered way too much and I don't think Dubas will trade Syd anyway, upper management wouldn't allow it and Kyle would probably be lynched. No, I think Syd will play out the last year of his contract in Pitt and then sit down with his agent to figure out what he should do. Unless he has already decided to sign an extension which he can do after July 1st. It will be an interesting tale to follow for sure.

As for the upcoming 2024 Draft, I like either Berkly Catton or Tij Iginla for the Habs at #7, unless they win the lottery for Celebrini.

I don’t think we should be holding our breath waiting for Sid to come to the light
Dumbass will not let his super star leave that’s not how he rolls
On a new subject I have been reading about our girl Margot
You won’t find and scantily clad pics of her she is private and stays out of the limelight
I was impressed with the work she puts in to prep for a role
Hard working smart and very good looking
Sadly she is a rangers fan
    Sigh
    Oh well
On to April and to see what our moeman comes up with
    Go Habs
