im not as here as i used to be (cause im still not over how it all ended in that final round), but i try to check-in once in awhile when i have time. really happy to see the site is alive and kicking. really thankful to u moe for keeping up traditions including SFs.
i know lots of u (Saint Paddy, [sometimes maritimer], HF29, SiM... )wont agree with me, but this team IS cup contender capable... (tiny tiny font: if only they could get a legit #1 gk)
lets have a good year and do everything within our own control and allow lady luck to finally give us our turn to overachieve THIS yr, not next, not the one after, not when we are done rebuilding and nick and cole are too old..., but now, THIS G-DAUM YEAR, TODAY!
SiM had commented on the gm1 thread FastLane might have a better nickname in being called the Engineer. does that have anything to do with this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Hudson
That was a good period, 2 goals one by a beer (Heineken) a whisky (CC). Yeah, I think Slaf got an assist on the Whisky goal. I wanted to take the whole line in my pool but you could only take 2 players per team.
Moe's comment on Fast Lane was spot one. I can't recall ever seeing a player with such quickness. Not skating speed but changing direction speed. It's incredible. He will only get better as time goes on.
bam! right there, i caught the BOTH OF YOU. full on agree. team is 75% same as last years, 1 year older, should be 1.5x smarter. like that anonomouse guy said above, we a s fans should up our expectations as well. theres no way this kind of effort through 3 games cannot be kept up over the long term.
still... its kinda fun projecting cole on the kinda pace we used to project with savage garden back in the day.
winning 66% is absurd, so taking points from 2/3 is kinda aggressive. frankly, ide settle for 5pts every 4 games ... heck 5pts every 5 games would be ok with me so long as this would be a minimum.
.600 hockey gets you 98 points, which SHOULD get a wild card spot at least. So 6 points every 5 games. It sounds easy on paper, let's hope they keep it up, stay in the hunt until Wool is back and then step on the gas.
"If you can dumpster dive into the playoffs anything can happen"- dumpster diver. I think we keep von clumbsy in the window until someone finds he looks cute. with Fishnet and Savard, Ghost and Rock Fast lane, we have a offensive threat that is unparrelled in the history of the NHL, or at least since the big three. The 3 and a half man era is starting soon. With our JFK assasination PP and the best Canadian born goalie of his generation, its not a question of if, just when.
I’m thinking showcase Von Clumsy We have Strudel and maillot in the pipes as well as the other heinekin and there’s a ruskie who’s marinating in some league over there as well as that norlander guy but I think we gave up on him and that trudeau guy isn’t horrible Lots of D I’m liking the feeling watching them but it’s a long season and I don’t know how long Fast Lane can do the jitter bug We need the other arbour up front We need a lucic up front Powerhorse is just Andy now on the PK We need something nasty up front reincarnated messier would do it Anyway let’s beat the flightless birds and give a chant to CP30🤞 Go Habs
I saw a list of QB salaries dining the sanfran game with that Dak schmuck I think at the top at $31 large a year and at the bottom at $975,000.00 was Brock Mr Irrelevant Oooffff We’ll his train is coming into the station next year I think $31 million to play football To think all those years I wasted in school Go Habs
There are a LOT of bad contracts in the NFL, none worse than the Cleveland Browns giving Deshaun Watson $230M, fully guaranteed, while he was (and still is I believe) under investigation for multiple sexual assaults. That team deserves everything they get from him...which is nothing.
Well Drake Maye season has begun for my Pats. Not a perfect start but having a QB that can or will throw the ball more than 10 yards is refreshing. Not sure if it is the new player or new coach responsible for that(compared to the BB-Mac Jones years), but there is some hope that this guy will be good once they get an offensive line. So keep losing and get the top left tackle in the draft.
I always want AX in the lineup. Keep him on the 3rd pairing, give him his reps, let him kill some penalties. He will eventually replace Savvy once he ages out. I also hope they give Savvy an extension, that guy is a beast. Not the fastest but knows where to be and is a shot blocking machine.
Who knew that ex-Powerhorse, now known as Andy, could reinvent himself as a PK specialist? I also like his line with 7Evans and Lep, they won't score a lot but they are a handful to play against. And DVo with the two kids was a pleasant surprise.
I'm enjoying The Rebuild series on Crave, one episode to go. I'll probably re-watch the whole thing.
What a surprise Calgary is and the Oil are still hungover from last spring.
As we know from 21, the push to get there and the swirl that comes with it is draining to come so close and go home with fuck all. Plus the short summer, it's tough to reboot get back on the horse and carry on. I'm of the opinion that they are giving BVK all the rope he needs to either hang himself or pull himself up but either way him or Ax are on the D Taxi squad and with maillot ( swim suit ) lighting it up with the Rocket something will give. It's a nice problem to have. What is heartening is our PP scoring goals and two out of three games with 4 goals! Two areas of our game that sucked last season, time will tell tho. Bring on the large flightless birds and whats his sid. Go Habs
Cool moe!
ReplyDeleteNow JFW.

ReplyDeletesfu talking heads and fanboy hacks would likely disagree. But what do they know? Nothing.
DeleteThey seem to be better defensively tonight.
ReplyDeletePlease hire Guy Carbonneau to teach how to take a faceoff.
ReplyDelete~~~

DeleteVodkov.
DeleteNeed a little more urgency on offense.
ReplyDeletetva showing scumbag legault at the game. POS hates everything Montréal. Must be a sens fan.

ReplyDeleteSha-na-na-na, hey hey hey, good-bye.
Which could be sung when it was very clear you were sending the opposition away with a loss.
Solid win.
ReplyDelete2-0 at home, great for the fans that pay the big $ to see them.
Big win. Happy to beat those dipshits.
ReplyDeleteBonus, no goonery and no one got injured.
Side note : Whisky has 4 goals in 3 games, narcos has Zero in 3 games. Suck it SFU.
Nice win. This is NOT last season's Habs
ReplyDeleteReady to go at the start. Check.
DeleteNo soft goal right off the bat. Check.
No 2nd period collapse. Check.
Didn't give up a 6 on 5 goal. Check.
Agree, more mature team.
bam! right there, i caught the BOTH OF YOU. full on agree. team is 75% same as last years, 1 year older, should be 1.5x smarter. like that anonomouse guy said above, we a s fans should up our expectations as well. theres no way this kind of effort through 3 games cannot be kept up over the long term.

DeletePlan the parade already. Rock Fast Lane to the cup.
ReplyDeleteUp next : the Pensburgh Sidneys.
ReplyDeleteBarron von Klumsy didn't look too bad last night, he is checking his rear view mirror for some RHD guy in Laval who is lighting up the AHL.
ReplyDeleteI’m thinking showcase Von Clumsy
ReplyDeleteWe have Strudel and maillot in the pipes as well as the other heinekin and there’s a ruskie who’s marinating in some league over there as well as that norlander guy but I think we gave up on him and that trudeau guy isn’t horrible
Lots of D
I’m liking the feeling watching them but it’s a long season and I don’t know how long Fast Lane can do the jitter bug
We need the other arbour up front
We need a lucic up front
Powerhorse is just Andy now on the PK
We need something nasty up front reincarnated messier would do it
Anyway let’s beat the flightless birds and give a chant to CP30🤞
Go Habs
I hope they give Monty the start on Monday. CP30 should only start on the end of a b2b.
DeleteThey pay that 🤡 brady $375M for his lame commentary ?
ReplyDeleteGo Steelers and pile it on Lions.
~~~
Wow, did the Lions ever pile it on. Great job Detroit!
DeleteLove that smackdown and the boys aren't even in my conference. They are the leaf of the NFL.
DeleteThat was a gruesome injury to Hutchinson, will be a big impact to the Lions' defence.
