I might see if I can find this movie to watch this weekend. I vaguely recall seeing back in the mid 80s when we'd rent a VCR and 5 movies for a marathon.
Fast Car that is Tracy CHapmen. Love the early games as I get up at 5 AM every day to make the magic of capitalism real. Okay I will not be home in time to watCH the first period. Moreover I have to go to a friends place to watCH on Kodi. But early games are a blessing. Thank the Lord
Third year in a row, no playoffs for you Sid. Sure you don't want to reconsider? Demi on one side, Wool on the other... could be a match made in heaven.

Hi M I agree, aside from certian death what is differant about mens contact sport? We let fairyies buy teams. Fairies wear boots, and we have been stompted on forever.
So apparently Both The Glorious Habs and the Snores will be overwhelmed by the shear overwhelmingness of both the warshingdumb overchickens and the smouldering pile of compost Such clear choices have never been presented to such hockey knowledgeable experts as contained in both the SFU and SploogeNet Never was there a doubt or a hint of a doubt Course the Snores smokin the compost pile 3-0 in the regular season means nothing Cause you know … you know cause Captain Underpants and Disappearing Mitchie are on the watch I dunno about us We need Monty to stop the wrist shots from the blue line We need Sevens Heineken and army to step back up We need TJ Wool and ID to gel wow imagine the horror We need AX dressed and play hockey not kill bill And We need suzi to be suzi and cc to be cc and the slavster to play like a 6’4” beast We do that and score on the PP and we’re past those overchicken monkeys And suivant stie Go Habs
Big Play Dave has announced his retirement after the playoffs. That should be a signal that it's OK to sit him for the AX man in the playoffs. At least on a rotation to start. Doubt it happens though.
Two keys to start the series...don't let Ovi get on any kind of roll. Someone needs to stay on him like shit on a shovel. Habs have max 28 games left to play and I think they will need all of them - if they can go 16-11 that's like playing ,590 hockey from here on in.
Ax needs to play but play smart and not be in the box. In fact the whole team needs to stay outta the box.
Habs can beat the Caps. Turn off the leaf blowing and watch the game. Fuck them all. We won't get any respect until mid June - worry about it then .
Marty needs to put a buzzer in the jockstraps. If he sees them about to do something stupid they get some shoCHk therapy. Our maybe just rig it up to some AI.
Since Jan. 01, the Habs and Caps have very similar win/loss records but the sfu won't mention that. The Habs have been playing desperation hockey since mid February while the Crapitals have been more interested in getting Ovie to 895 and have been stumbling around ever since. I think this round will be closer than all the sfu 'experts' think but, it will depend on whether Monty plays like the second coming of Jacques Plante or like Andre 'Red Light' Racicot. Good on Big Play Dave for letting Kent know ahead of time that he will need a #1 RD for next season. It will be interesting whether that comes internally or from a big trade. And, just a reminder to the sfu and leafools ... it was 3-1...
Also, big congrats to the Laval Rocket for winning the regular season championship trophy as the #1 team in the AHL, that's a big accomplishment for those youngsters, as well as a few wily vets. Well done! Go You Fucking Rocket Go ! !
The Rags fire coach Eddie Munster now there's a surprise. Sounds like Drury will be sticking around though. What about the Breadman, he was in some hot water, I'll bet he moves on too and no, we don't want him...
hey guys... just rushed home to cheer on the boys for gm1 like last time with king jaro and chocula only to be disappointed by jets-the city st. louis!

"Primeau joined the Rocket just after Christmas and was the AHL’s most dominant goaltender over the second half of 2024-25. He posted the best single season record in AHL history at 21-2-2 (.880) in 26 appearances, including wins in each of his first 10 decisions and an 11-0-2 streak to close out the regular season. Primeau also finished second in the league with a 1.96 goals-against average and third with a .927 save percentage."
Herb was overall not the guy we needed, however, The current Montreal Canadiens, that we are all excited to see start their playoff run on Monday have the following players acquired during his tenure:
Suzuki - A number one center, and MVP of this team for almost three years now. Caufield - A 1st line scoring winger Guhle - A 1st pair LHD. Montembeault - An above average number one goaltender. Dobes - Our current backup goaltender. Gallagher-Dvorak-Anderson - Overpaid but absolutely essential veteran players constantly being used by Marty in critical game situations to right the ship or gain momentum. Armia-Evans - Linchpin members of the defensive posture of this team. Savard - Struble - Xhekaj - Depth, bottom pairing defencemen, that will bring physicality.
All true, but I feel bargainbin would have kept the Habs mired in mediocrity forever, refusing to do what HuGo had the guts to do ... tear it down and start over. Also, bb would never hire anyone who he felt would have been a threat to his authority. It was time for him to go, along with all his foxhole friends.

SFU are all giddy about their leaf big win last night. They still haven't figured out that those losers are the kings of choke. Well, Jeff O'Neill has, he picked them to win the Cup but deep down knows they will fail. Again.
It's a good day. First round in at my local 9 hole par 31 course (5 threes, 4 fours). Opened the season par-par-bogey-par. Fell off a bit after that and shot a 40, but a decent start on a windy Easter Monday.
I dont want to make a sexual comment on a hockey page. Like girl and boy 15 years old, she has big tits and your not sure if you have a big dick. Go habs go
Had leftover turkey dinner poutine for my pre-game meal. Delicious. Paired with a Guiness Zero. Which is surprisingly close to the OG. I have a Caesar (not zero) on deck for game time.
Great period by Monty. Def getting outhit by the bigger Caps but dishing some out. The call on Guhle was weak...but the non call on Anderson evened it out...though there shouldn't have been a PP to begin with, and those penalties always seem to end up in the back of the net. Hanging in there. Competing. Keep it up. Go Habs Go!
If they put AX in, it's probably Struble sitting. In reality it should be Matheson. Man that guy is an adventure everytime he gets the puck. And not often in a a good way.
Surprisingly, I found the leafnet panel complimentary to the Habs last night for the most part. Ex-Detroit head coach Lalonde pointed out many positive aspects of the Habs players. He is the best analyst in a while, far superior to the shrieking Botterill.
I love what goules said about the speed and the checking Everything is fast I think we had our baptism Now we are wiser and let’s go tomorrow But please dress Mr Ax And sit Dave Go Habs
They won't sit Dave unless he asks Marty to sit. He is one of only 2 RD and kills penalties fairly well. AX has played maybe 1/4 of the time on the PK this year as Savvy. IF they make a change it will be Struble.
Gallagher not at the skate today. Perhaps related to the crosscheck to the face that was clearly not a penalty...added a photo.
He was always in the GMs face he’d probably like a shot but I think his passion is as close to the action as possible Anyway by by Lou no facial hair what a throwback to Neanderthal times Really Go Habs
I thought Savard gave MSL an out to sit him by telling the media his body is basically broken and he can't continue after this season. But one of Marty's biggest flaws is not punishing veterans while a guy like AX sits in the press box. Armia is another one. He's been playing with a bad wrist for months and it shows. Replace him with Kapanen. Same thing happened with the previous coach in the cup final run. I remember Gallagher, Toffoli and (Armia I think) were all basically playing on one leg or some other significant injury while KK watched from the box.
I can't see Marty taking any veterans out. Big Play Dave is still good on the PK and he wants his last shot. Even a one-armed Army is better than a young Kappy. I'm OK with what's going on. If Marty wants tp switch out Strobe for the Sherriff, sure why not. If AX is on the ice maybe there won't be as many cheap shots going on that the biased refs are allowing. Here is a list that I've read about so far : 1. Gally cross checked in the teeth -- no call 2. Fast Lane sucker punched in a scrum -- Craps get a PP 3. Wilson leaves his feet to hit Guhle -- no call 4. Matt Roy cross checks Wool in the back trying to tip a pass for no icing -- no call (for interference) -- Craps score in OT.
Tell me again how NHL refs are the best in the world. Fuck you gary.
If only he shot right. I have not seen a live NHL game in this century. I saw lots before Harper took it all away from me. I was and remain a socialist. You can not live in a village where some have plumping and the others have open sewers. People gonna give you shit sooner or later. In the USA they voted for clown controll. Lets see what happens here.
Agree with the M about Lalonde on the panel. He's increased the IQ of that bunch ten fold. It's quite foreign having a guy on there seemingly whose job it is to find positives about and analyze the Habs players. I'll take it though I know it's a short lived anomaly.
wasnt able to watch live. was stuck watching the golden seals at pier 39. catching highlites was actually kinda easy though and credit to em, espn showed them highlites for all matches!
still moderately surprised i didnt see 1 kings jersey or any of the other in vogue teams like WSH, FLA, TB walking around... dygk: COL ppl and CA ppl hate eachother?
what i did see was a guy wearing a yellow and blue really old vintage jersey though. i made a comment, great coach, so-so city. he just kinda ignored and walked on. i guess that "vintage" jersey was something he picked up recently from amazon...
I think he is there, but in the bumper spot which they haven't successfully used for the past dozen games. Yeah put him back on the flank. Wool is trying too hard for the perfect shot and it's impacting his outcome.
absolutely NOT! their gk was nothing more than adequate! he didnt make any TFS impossible saves, nor did he make any great plays beyond corsi expectations!
Hey we can forget about hockey for a night. Night 1 of the NFL draft. Looking for my Pats to take big 6'6" 320lb OT Will Campbell at #4. Unless they trade down, the NYG might snag Travis Hunter at #3. And QB Sanders could fall to moe's Steelers at #21. Boy has his stock fallen. I blame his father.
Hunter or Abdul Carter to the Giants. I've read they may trade up for another first round pick to get QB Jaxon Dart or Jalen Milroe for the future. Yeah, Sanders sure has dropped, nobody wants to deal with Prime Time.
Do I have to point out the obvious? No more NFL, College Ball and Basketball is just hanging by a threat. The world is changing, start with more curling and lacrosse, watch our Canadian Women.
The Oil aren’t looking too healthy Wonder if McJesus would be interested in becoming a member of The Glorious Habs An up and coming Stanley contender We would have some sheckles for him I’m thinkin Probably several Strokes chin Go Habs
we are about 20hrs out from gm3 and im still livid at the way the reffs have not been doing their jobs AND at the habs (MSL) for being so patient to go with the guys who took em to the dance.
somebody said it ealier requoting einstein (moe, the M?).
i didnt voice it, but i thought it was a mistake to keep wifi out of gm1. now im sure it was a mistake to keep him out of gm2. please please please dont let gm3, be your most fatal and final mistake!
i dunno how, to slot him in, but joshuahua impressed me. most likely spot i see is heineken's despite how u feel about him St.P.
oh... and the only rational reason why i havmt calmed down is b/c the nhl office of player safety did diddly squat. unless one of our own does the same exact thing in gm3, ill be on next level rage. msg has been sent by the Craps. the league has by neglect, condoned it. this is your 'hint hint' free pass boys. somebody step up and channel your lil pez, or your hidden corson/ ludwig/ mcphee/ green/ chelios... theres a time for talk and then theres time for action.
sorry for long rant. lots of internal turmoil over here.
I hear you oleg but the refs for Gme 3 might have their own ideas. Certsinly the Buttman mentality of this league can't be pleased 5/16 of the teams in the playoffs are Canadian and nothing would make them happier than seeing the Habs and Oilers exit early.
One way to look at this: the '93 Cup run started exactly tge same way, with the Nordiques taking a 2-0 lead before the big comeback. Could be something to rally the team with. They certainly have shown a bounce or two could have reversed the outcomes.

ReplyDeleteSame thing happened with the previous coach in the cup final run.
DeleteHere is a list that I've read about so far :
1. Gally cross checked in the teeth -- no call
2. Fast Lane sucker punched in a scrum -- Craps get a PP
3. Wilson leaves his feet to hit Guhle -- no call
DeleteIn the USA they voted for clown controll. Lets see what happens here.
Agree with the M about Lalonde on the panel. He's increased the IQ of that bunch ten fold.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite foreign having a guy on there seemingly whose job it is to find positives about and analyze the Habs players.
I'll take it though I know it's a short lived anomaly.
Id and GI Finn swapping spots. GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteNo mclame or haharudey, thanks leafnet.
ReplyDeletewasnt able to watch live. was stuck watching the golden seals at pier 39. catching highlites was actually kinda easy though and credit to em, espn showed them highlites for all matches!
ReplyDeletestill moderately surprised i didnt see 1 kings jersey or any of the other in vogue teams like WSH, FLA, TB walking around... dygk: COL ppl and CA ppl hate eachother?
what i did see was a guy wearing a yellow and blue really old vintage jersey though. i made a comment, great coach, so-so city. he just kinda ignored and walked on. i guess that "vintage" jersey was something he picked up recently from amazon...
great jump to start the game! is this how they started gm1 also?
ReplyDeleteStarted by introducing themselves to all the Caps' elbows and boards.
DeleteWhat a first shift by Hutson Bay Co.!
ReplyDeleteF these refs again. Keep your noses clean boys, any reason to send you to the box.
ReplyDeleteits mostly them, but this is pretty hockey. some really intelligent plays by both sides so far
ReplyDeleteHeh, ESPN went to commercial after the whistle, airing a series of pics of the '93 cup winning team. SFU would never.
ReplyDeleteomg!@!@@ how da fuck do u miss that!? i know u are a 2 pence hooker, but come on, man! did i really see that?!?
ReplyDeleteCan't miss glorious opportunities like that. They're too rare in the playoffs.
DeleteAlex No-look at the puck.
DeleteGlad to see Powerhorse give it to Wilson.
ReplyDeleteA lot of those Crapitals hits are from behind. Just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteGot a gut feeling about Heineman tonight. I think he gets us on the board or makes a big play to motivate the team. Maybe a big hit on Putin's boy?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Wool do something.
DeletePowerhorse!
ReplyDeleteDEVO!
ReplyDeleteDEVO!
ReplyDeleteHorsepower!
ReplyDeleteDevo!
ReplyDeleteThat was a shitshow shift...
ReplyDeleteOwn goal by Big Play Dave
DeleteWTF was everybody doing on that play ffs!?
ReplyDeleteWell fuck...
ReplyDeleteNewhook couldn't win a faceoff to save his life.
ReplyDeleteAll those missed chances...
ReplyDeleteID looks lost out there and Wool.....
ReplyDeleteOMG Laine...
ReplyDeleteOMG Big Play Dave has got to be put out to pasture
ReplyDeletePlease
Go Habs
Time to bring in AX he couldn't possibly be any worse.
DeleteLucky to be only 2-1.
ReplyDeleteCaps know how to forecheck.
Habs don’t.
~moe
Marty should call a time out, Washingdumb should have about 10 goals by now. Monty is in a shooting gallery.
ReplyDeleteThey should be using CC more, Laine not feeling it, put CC back on the first PP.
ReplyDeleteI think he is there, but in the bumper spot which they haven't successfully used for the past dozen games. Yeah put him back on the flank. Wool is trying too hard for the perfect shot and it's impacting his outcome.
DeleteSwitch them. Or something. Marty has to adapt, the definition of insanity...
DeleteLaine hasn't seen the ice in the 3rd...
ReplyDeleteI don't think Savard has either. Marty shortening the bench.
DeleteOh Sevans. So much open net. And ding!
ReplyDeleteJust need one break to go their way.
ReplyDeleteomg! that ugliest goal of the yr, WAS their one break per game!
DeleteOh look yet another crosscheck to a Hab's face. Right in front of the ref. No problem.
ReplyDeletei saw that too.
Delete1. whats going on?
2. and why isnt isnt the cpt or the alternates getting into the face of the refs to hold them accountable?
How’s bout dem refs ?
ReplyDelete~moe
Three cross checks to the face and no calls fucking donkey refs.
ReplyDeleteFerraro just said he heard the ref tell MSL it was a push, not a crosscheck to Caufield 's face...
ReplyDeleteyeah right
DeleteWasn’t meant to be.
ReplyDeleteAlso what a braindead crowd.
Zero hockey knowledge.
~moe
Sooner or later the breaks are gonna go Montreal's way. The dumb bettman ref's can't save these dipshit washington fucks forever.
ReplyDeleteAs shit as the refs were, our guys gave it their all. Credit to the Caps tender, he made some great saves to keep the lead.
ReplyDeleteOn to Montreal. I'm sure our fearless leader will have an excellent gameday thread.
absolutely NOT! their gk was nothing more than adequate! he didnt make any TFS impossible saves, nor did he make any great plays beyond corsi expectations!
DeleteOne lousy shift cost them.
ReplyDeleteRead The Call of the Wilde tomorrow for a good referee roasting.
ReplyDeleteOh he's hot and says it'll be ready in 20 minutes. I expect the Caufield non call might have something to do with that.
DeleteLooking forward to Wilde’s take.
ReplyDeleteWe’ve been saying this about shit refs for many years.
Nothings changed and nothing will change.
~moe
@the M, @CHester, @St.P... pleeeeeeeeease, one of u... pleeeeeease at least one of u say something to tell me, its gonn be alright.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be four straight.
Deletehttps://globalnews.ca/news/11146105/call-of-the-wilde-washington-series-lead-3-1-montreal-canadiens/
ReplyDeleteNot as damning as I'd hoped or as he made it out that it would be.
DeleteBut at least he's said something.
If I'm Geoff Molson I'm ringing up Gary... hey ashore thats 3 heads hots to my players what is it open season on Habs players?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the next thread can be for oleg with this theme.
ReplyDeleteEverything's Gonna Be Alright
Dont worry be Happy
ReplyDeleteImagine the appall and demands for an inquest we'd be hearing about at SFU if three leaves were crosschecked in the face without penalty.
ReplyDeleteHey we can forget about hockey for a night. Night 1 of the NFL draft.
ReplyDeleteLooking for my Pats to take big 6'6" 320lb OT Will Campbell at #4.
DeleteDo I have to point out the obvious? No more NFL, College Ball and Basketball is just hanging by a threat. The world is changing, start with more curling and lacrosse, watch our Canadian Women.
DeleteAbdul Carter -- great pick!
ReplyDeleteAnd you got your QB!
DeleteThe Oil aren’t looking too healthy
ReplyDeleteWonder if McJesus would be interested in becoming a member of The Glorious Habs
An up and coming Stanley contender
We would have some sheckles for him I’m thinkin
Probably several
Strokes chin
Go Habs
we are about 20hrs out from gm3 and im still livid at the way the reffs have not been doing their jobs AND at the habs (MSL) for being so patient to go with the guys who took em to the dance.
ReplyDeletesomebody said it ealier requoting einstein (moe, the M?).
i didnt voice it, but i thought it was a mistake to keep wifi out of gm1. now im sure it was a mistake to keep him out of gm2. please please please dont let gm3, be your most fatal and final mistake!
i dunno how, to slot him in, but joshuahua impressed me. most likely spot i see is heineken's despite how u feel about him St.P.
oh... and the only rational reason why i havmt calmed down is b/c the nhl office of player safety did diddly squat. unless one of our own does the same exact thing in gm3, ill be on next level rage. msg has been sent by the Craps. the league has by neglect, condoned it. this is your 'hint hint' free pass boys. somebody step up and channel your lil pez, or your hidden corson/ ludwig/ mcphee/ green/ chelios... theres a time for talk and then theres time for action.
sorry for long rant. lots of internal turmoil over here.
I hear you oleg but the refs for Gme 3 might have their own ideas. Certsinly the Buttman mentality of this league can't be pleased 5/16 of the teams in the playoffs are Canadian and nothing would make them happier than seeing the Habs and Oilers exit early.
DeleteOne way to look at this: the '93 Cup run started exactly tge same way, with the Nordiques taking a 2-0 lead before the big comeback. Could be something to rally the team with. They certainly have shown a bounce or two could have reversed the outcomes.
