Strong prospect pool. Are we there yet? Probably not, I read the other day they are the 2nd youngest team in the NHL with the Sabres being first. Experience plays a big role as Florida showed this past spring with that previous year's deep run. So, I guess we should temper our expectations and hope for a competitive team. I will say though, the 1986 Habs won with 9 rookies led by Bobby Smith, Ryan Walter, Bob Gainey and Larry Robinson.

That's a decent prospect list. I hope J Roy pans out. Beck should be a sold 3rd liner. I know he hasn't faced the same competition but I still say that Russian goalie they drafted last year could surprise and he and Fowler could be a strong tandem in 3-5 years. Or I could be totally wrong.
I usually don't pay a lot of attention to rookie camps etc., but I might take a peek tomorrow at the 'scrimmage' between the Habs kiddies and the junior soon to be wretched leafies. I noticed one of the Habs lines is Luke Tuch, Florian Xhekaj and Tyler Thorpe ... I didn't look at the numbers but I seem to recall they are all giants in stature. The leafies better keep their heads up.

Congrats moe. M- we'll be battling it out for a nice high pick again, but I suspect your guys will be looking for a QB so no conflicting requirements .
My Giants played a good road game. Lost their kicker on the opening play so they lost 3 points on their 3 TDs and had to go for it every time on 4th down. Washington won with seven, count'em 7 field goals. QB Jones didn't lose the game or commit any turnovers so kudos to him. Malik Nabers is the real deal and gives me some hope. The Giants D played well but it was only Wash. so there is that. Agreed, it will be another top 5 pick in 2025 for my G-Men and it will be a QB, they have the next guy picked out already. Meanwhile, I see the unlucky Blue Jackets have signed JVR for this season but they are way below the salary cap floor. It would not surprise me to see TFS' contract end up there.
Seems like Heineken is in the mix and turning heads as well as Mailloux Thinking those two Fast Lane and The Beckster are the ones pushing for a spot I see lots of competition coming at the real camp Just such a refreshing change from those years of bicep burgy saying how impossible it is to get a good centre man or a power forward Looking forward to the opener against the leaf Go Habs
Sid showing what a class act he is and what it means to put the team ahead of everything else. There are certain players on a certain team (don't want to sully our pages with the name) that could take a page out of his playbook if they think they are in win now mode. But they will languish for years instead.
That said, just because he's signed doesn't mean he couldn't agree to a move to the Habs at the deadline if the Pens are faltering and the Habs surprise their detractors and are in a playoff position. Right?!
“One of the players texted me and said, ‘Lane Hutson is going to make a run for the Calder this year,’” Friedman said. “They’re sitting there and saying ‘Can you believe what this kid can do?’”
I don't believe for one second that a member of the Montreal Canadiens texted the fried man. I think it's the fried man saying it himself but doesn't want to upset his overlords. Personally I think that's a very tall order to fill...maybe fried man is putting it out there to try to put more pressure on the young man. Who knows.
He starts the season in Montreal and they keep him there. He will be brought along by MSL and get 2nd PP time. I believe he can survive (and thrive) in the NHL because of his smarts as well as his ankle breaking skills. As far as the ROY Calder chances, it will depend on how many points he puts up because he will be going up against some high end forwards, Celebrini, Michkov, McGroarty, Gauthier, etc. It would be a long shot but anything is possible.
On a side note, one of the amateur Habs gossip sites are speculating on Nick Ehlers (Winnipeg) possibly joining his buddy Laine in Montreal, possibly at the trade deadline. Ehlers will be UFA at the end of the year and contract talks are not going well. If Montreal is still in contention by then, maybe Hughes will be a buyer instead of a seller. Lots to look forward to this season. Bring it on!
I know Vikings glory is well in the past. For those who did not watCH Vikings Vahalla, there is no Rangor Lothbrooke. However should he come to Montreal, we could invade Paris at our leisrure. Have you heard Coach ( yes you should be listening to Lou Reed say it) is going to take over the PP. Rock Fast Lane will be the AI on this former basket case. Put his name on Rookie of the Year and the Noriss right now.
He was a good teammate, he knew his role, never complained publicly when he was sat out and was a good mentor to the youngsters. He was probably very happy to be able to play in the NHL again even if it was on a bad team. Good luck in the next segment of his hockey journey whatever it may be.
This is the year I no longer keep hope alive that Josh Anderson will be the power forward that he should be. He has all the attributes - speed, size, a bit of grit, he CAN score...but it's never all clicked. And I'm willing to admit that it never will. Sad, there is so much promise there.
Swayman probably wants in the $8.5 range. It's steep for a goalie...we would know...but the cap has increased considerably since that 10.5m TFS contract, so it's less than 10% of the cap which will continue to rise.
So I think it would be awesome if Kent offer sheeted the Broons' keeper at 8.5ish. It would cost a 1st, 2nd and 3rd next year. They have 2 firsts, 2 seconds and 3 thirds so would still have picks in each round. No offence to our guys but I just don't see them as franchise goalies.
Agreed, would love to have a franchise goalie and Swayman would fit in perfectly with the Habs age group. Plus, it would be sweet to stick it to the hated beaners. Fowler can percolate for a few years.
I don't have Crave nor access to Crave series on my stick. Anybody see the first episodes of Inside the Rebuild? I'm hoping to find a way to watch it if it's worth it.
HabAtHer had an interesting thought about The Hooker playing center on line three with a choice of BGally Army Or I believe Powerhorse as wings As she noted this setup last year was interesting This would give us three lines with some offence rather than loading up the top two with a more traditional three and four arrangement of older vets and big body crashers Not something I would put past Marty as he has the capacity to think outside the box And as she also said You can almost smell the rink Go Habs
Jesus Ghoul...at least it's better to get that appendix out now than in 3 weeks.
2 days before my 5th birthday, on the Ides of March, my appendix ruptured. my Mom always swore it was the doc pressing so hard on my abdomen that did it. She said I screamed and came about 3 feet off the gurney. Spent close to a month in hospital. I recall eating a lot of fudgesicles and getting a lot of presents.
I hope young Me Guhle has a less eventful experience.
From what I read seems the thought this year at camp is to keep the F lines and D pairings together to develop some chemistry. Makes good sense to CHester. Back in the day the lines were the lines and if something was changed it was noteworthy. Go Habs
Enstram the center has to stay, that means someone has to go. Devo waivers I can see it comming. Plus we are already 2 mill over the cap. Someone has to go now.
So this ekland person has Suzy and 1 or 2 top prospects going to the Peg for some Profetti guy and Euler person Wow its like trying to read what the puck Where do these people get this stuff Go Habs
https://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey/2024-09-21/le-canadien/c-est-un-nouveau-depart-pour-josh-anderson.php#:~:text=TREATMENT%20DAY%20FOR%20WOOL Wool is official. I dub the PP the JFK Assasination, so many shooters, and quite deadly. Fast Rock Lane has already won the Calder, lets go for the Norris as well. Montreal will be the first team with back to back Calder wins.
From what I have read so far coming out of training camp, it seems the players and Coach Marty are on a mission to prove all the doubters (SFU Talking Heads and Vegas bookies) wrong. The NCS line, Dach and Wool, Lep and Powerhorse, GI Finn and 7Evans want to come out of the gate fast. I think Hughes has one more piece of the puzzle coming to seal the deal. GO HABS GO!!!
The Crave series 'The Rebuild' is very well done. Recommended.
Go Giants! I hope they found a kicker for today's game.
Forgot to mention, I think Beck can unseat Dvo, Rob Ramage was pretty high on this kid, called him 'an NHL player' already, conditioning off the charts, plays a 200 ft. game, good on faceoffs. Makes Dvo redundant, I'm sure Columbus could use Dvo and his contract to get to the salary floor. Future Considerations is a player I would take back.
The guy wearing PFK's #76 is Jared Davidson, drafted 2 years ago from Seattle I think as an overager. With a last name like that his nick has to be Hog or is it Hawg?
That Kapanen - Heineman - ABB line was the best trio all night long. 2 of the 3 got stars along with Fast Lane who was #1. A shared shutout by CP30 and Dobie Gillis, great way to start the season. We have suffered the last 3 years but I feel the Habs are about to turn the corner.
“He played an excellent game. I tip my hat to our scouting staff. I didn’t know (Oliver) Kapanen. It’s not just him, we have a lot of talented, young players. They more or less all stood out tonight…it’s fun to have this depth of talented (young) players.”
Only saw the highlights but things are looking tentatively seriously up OK looked really OK Could be conditioning but he had moves Also I think the hype machine should tone it down a bit on fast lane He’s just a kid and this place can crush you Overall we are spinning the right way It’s been a bit of a wait but I think we are emerging from the darkness into the light We are being carefully crafted and steered by intelligent competent people It’s a new dawn people Go Habs
Good to see Pomme back in Montreal. Hope he does well with NJ.
If you can stomach the incredible Toronto bias, the TSN Overdrive guys are in Montreal for the golf tournament this week. They talked quite a bit about the Habs tonight. Jeff Gorton is going to be on the show tomorrow.
These bozos on Overdrive complaining about sitting in the hotel bar in Montreal and ask the bartender to put the leaf game on and he gives them a flat out NO...mind you they did also say they respect the denial.
So they’re in Montreal and they are sitting in the bar at the hotel Oooooo such adventure Hayes and what are the other two leaf blowers o-dog and noodles I believe Off on their own in a city packed with eateries and awesome bars and they’re sitting in the hotel Nuff said Go Habs
I think that's fair that they need to take a step and move up the standings, and yes be in the mix for a playoff spot. I think they have a great shot at a wild card if they stay healthy.
But next year it's time, without question. Playoffs or bust. The following year they begin to be perennial contenders, hopefully bringing it home.
The leaves will be trotting out their NHL lineup tonight they say. Minus captain underpants and some other leaf. Patches The Traitor will be in leaf uniform they say. Marty will be keeping his powder dry. I'm liking the matchup. We will be dressing lots of prospects up front and lots of heavies in the back. Looking forward to this. First game on the road in the mausoleum to boot. Bring it on. Go Habs
I just saw Marty's lineup for tonight ... Ouch, probably best to avert our eyes for this one. The wretched putrid leaf have their NHL team minus Narcos and Woll while the Habs top trio up front is ... awful. I think I will be watching the Giants/Cowboys tonight. Or the Crave Habs doc. Go Habs just in case!
I’m up for this one just the way it is I’m thinking our D is what’s being tested tonight If we’re gonna score great but let’s see what the D is capable of Those smelly leaves can score so we’ll see what’s what Besides we also have NFL and a hurricane if things go down the pooper But if they run us out of the mausoleum doesn’t say much for our defense Go Habs
You are probably right about testing the D. The oldest one is AX and he will be tasked with keeping Fast Lane safe from Reeves as well. The stinky leaves will no doubt try to run up the score as they are 0-2 to start the pre-season and the tranna natives are getting restless already. It could get ugly.
We’ll I’m thinking if that cromagnon reeveees wants to dance it’s gonna be Strudel time Ax man doesn’t have to dance to someone’s song he’s a proven commodity we’ll pick our own spots thank you Is the egg man a face puncher? I think not so it’s definitely Strudel time Anyway I’d like to see our D men rise up and shut down the leaf and maybe that capo kid can pop a couple or maybe fast lane Is full Monty in nets? Go Habs
I operate in many differant areans. Its no problem bro. Let hockey be that brotherly. Let the Russkies free. Our clown PM has suggested he will cure all traffic problems by building the worlds longest tunnel by 3 times in Toronto. So where do the cars exit you PEE PEE. Plus he loves the leafs .
TO fans are on valium or what? You never hear a peep when a Leaf makes a goid defensive play, or anything smart on the ice - just when their guys get a shot on net. Dumbass Fanbase.
Agree I liked the look of dobbie Square calm and challenges the shooter with Fowler the ruskie and the two we have now The net seems solid We have to remember that this was basically the leaf we were playing tonight without most of us so good on les boyz Laid a couple of sold hits as well Just a feeling but I’m thinking Barron von clumsy is not long for us he seems to be more focused on skating around in the offensive zone than being a crushing D man He’s too delicate Anyway CHesters thoughts Go Habbies
I saw better stuff from Strobelight and FastLane than Red Baron tonight. As always, the Barron can't handle reception of the puck at the opposition blue line. He seems to be easily pressured into fumbles and it's like he's battling himself in those situations - and nobidy's winning. It must frustrate his teammates to no end.
Cowdungboys currently leading the Giants 14-6 in the 2nd quarter.
Watched the 3rd episode of 'The Rebuild'. I like Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes more and more. Smart duo who are going to win in Montreal in the next few years.
Yep was hoping that Baron Von Clumsy was going to turn it around and be part of that top 6 so. Hab could host a Stanley Cup parade here in Halifax one day in the not too distant future. But I think it's not in the cards for him. Interesting though because I'm pretty sure he signed a one way contract so he would be claimed on waivers if sent to the minors. Guess he'll be part of a trade package sooner than later maybe?
I always root for Maritimer kids to make it but, von Klumsy doesn't seem to have the confidence needed to play NHL minutes. He's still quite young so could still pan out. He would definitely get claimed on waivers so he will be sticking with the Habs until Logan or Bach are ready. There are teams looking for right shot D so he would be easy to trade.
MnM is going no where. Same for Big Savvy, if the Habs want to 'be in the mix' they need those two guys. Kaliyev is hurt I believe anyway Besides, HuGo has to trade a forward to make room for Kapo or Beck. I'm keeping the Pez, love that guy.
Yup Gotta keep The Pez he has a unique skill set Dunno if capo is ready for the show He looked great against the rookies but wasn’t sure if he played against the leaf However Mr Beck looks ready And I agree about keeping MnM and maybe Savvy but I’m sure a deal will come to Hugo to pry Savvy away but I think we need to package up a von klumsy devo deal to make room for the beckster and either Logan or Rino I think it’s important to package klumsy before he gets stale Capo can wait for army to expire He needs another year to grow Anyway I should sleep Go Habs
I'm not sure Savvy is going anywhere. A lot of that is just media speculation and armchair GMs wishful thinking. He wants to stay in Montreal. If, IF, the team is 'in the mix' come the TDL, HuGo will be a buyer, not a seller. He has more draft picks than he knows what to do with. He will use those picks as ammo in any trade deals that come along to help make the playoffs if that scenario arises.
Coach Marty is not wasting any time getting his squad ready. He knows who he wants on his team and wants to come out of the gate flying and put up as many points as possible right off the bat. Looks like some of the young guns will have to wait another year and that's OK.
Summer ain't over ...

ReplyDeleteI don't believe for one second that a member of the Montreal Canadiens texted the fried man. I think it's the fried man saying it himself but doesn't want to upset his overlords. Personally I think that's a very tall order to fill...maybe fried man is putting it out there to try to put more pressure on the young man. Who knows.
More SFU bullshit.
DeleteHere is my prediction for Rock Fast Lane Hutson:
ReplyDeleteHe starts the season in Montreal and they keep him there.
DeleteThanks for being a Hab Chris Wideman. ~~~
ReplyDeleteHe was a good teammate, he knew his role, never complained publicly when he was sat out and was a good mentor to the youngsters. He was probably very happy to be able to play in the NHL again even if it was on a bad team. Good luck in the next segment of his hockey journey whatever it may be.
DeleteThe SFU leaf hype machine is cranking up. ~~~
ReplyDeleteWith rogers now having sole ownership of the leaf, the bias will be thicker than ever. ~~~
ReplyDelete"Thoughts and prayers" to all of Canada outside of the CotU.
DeleteThis is the year I no longer keep hope alive that Josh Anderson will be the power forward that he should be. He has all the attributes - speed, size, a bit of grit, he CAN score...but it's never all clicked. And I'm willing to admit that it never will. Sad, there is so much promise there.
ReplyDelete#ReversePsychology
3rd liner, maybe get you 15 goals. That's the ceiling.
DeleteI cant argue with the math, but the eye test he is a unicorn. He has such a stoic look.
DeleteBarron von Klumsy, Josh WaWa and a pick to the 'Peg for Ehlers aka Lego2.0.
ReplyDeleteWould do.
DeleteSwayman probably wants in the $8.5 range. It's steep for a goalie...we would know...but the cap has increased considerably since that 10.5m TFS contract, so it's less than 10% of the cap which will continue to rise.
ReplyDeleteSo I think it would be awesome if Kent offer sheeted the Broons' keeper at 8.5ish.
DeleteGotta do it
DeleteI don't have Crave nor access to Crave series on my stick. Anybody see the first episodes of Inside the Rebuild? I'm hoping to find a way to watch it if it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteIt's good.
DeleteHabAtHer had an interesting thought about The Hooker playing center on line three with a choice of BGally Army Or I believe Powerhorse as wings
ReplyDeleteAs she noted this setup last year was interesting
This would give us three lines with some offence rather than loading up the top two with a more traditional three and four arrangement of older vets and big body crashers
Not something I would put past Marty as he has the capacity to think outside the box
And as she also said
You can almost smell the rink
Go Habs
Jesus Ghoul...at least it's better to get that appendix out now than in 3 weeks.
ReplyDelete2 days before my 5th birthday, on the Ides of March, my appendix ruptured. my Mom always swore it was the doc pressing so hard on my abdomen that did it. She said I screamed and came about 3 feet off the gurney. Spent close to a month in hospital. I recall eating a lot of fudgesicles and getting a lot of presents.
I hope young Me Guhle has a less eventful experience.
Go Pat's! Fuck A-A-Ron Rodgers.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty great. https://thehockeywriters.com/guy-lafleur-montreal-canadiens/. Monday can't come soon enough!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I read seems the thought this year at camp is to keep the F lines and D pairings together to develop some chemistry.
ReplyDeleteMakes good sense to CHester.
Back in the day the lines were the lines and if something was changed it was noteworthy.
Go Habs
Enstram the center has to stay, that means someone has to go. Devo waivers I can see it comming. Plus we are already 2 mill over the cap. Someone has to go now.
ReplyDeleteThere will be another trade before the regular season begins.
ReplyDeleteSo this ekland person has Suzy and 1 or 2 top prospects going to the Peg for some Profetti guy and Euler person
ReplyDeleteWow its like trying to read what the puck
Where do these people get this stuff
Go Habs
Some people just like to make shit up.

ReplyDeleteWool is official. I dub the PP the JFK Assasination, so many shooters, and quite deadly. Fast Rock Lane has already won the Calder, lets go for the Norris as well. Montreal will be the first team with back to back Calder wins.
Ha Ha, I saw that as well, Google translates Laine to Wool too funny!
DeleteI want to see lots of rubber flying at the other team's goalies especially the wretched putrid leaf and the boston shitters.
ReplyDeleteThe Crave series 'The Rebuild' is very well done.
DeleteSTEELERS !
ReplyDeleteGIANTS !
ReplyDeleteRAVENS !
ReplyDeleteAre cuthurt and simpleton done sucking off their leaf ?
ReplyDeleteGame day! Sort of...
ReplyDeleteWooly (is that what we decided for Laine?) gets his first game tonight.
ReplyDeleteJust Wool is fine. Let's hope he snipes a couple tonight.
DeleteNot usually a pre-season guy, but the chance to see Wool perform along with the rest of the boys is too much. I'll be here!
ReplyDeleteGo you muthafukkin Habs go!
Too bad Laine's name isn't medical related. The line could be DaCHtor Hook and the Medicine Show.
ReplyDeleteLaine is Finnish and Estonian for "wave".
DeleteTime to bring back the wave when Laine scores?
I'll consider getting out of this game without an injury a victory.
ReplyDeleteAh, hockey! GYFHG!
ReplyDeleteKapanen looking good
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling Rock Fast Lane will be causing a lot of slashing penalties for the opposition.
ReplyDeleteLots of rust on Wool. Maybe he is steel Wool?
ReplyDeleteGood luck TuCH!
ReplyDeleteFriar! from Hog!
ReplyDeleteGreat 30 min. on CP30's part. I foresee a spirited rivalry for that net this season. Heron-Sevigny like.
ReplyDeleteThe guy wearing PFK's #76 is Jared Davidson, drafted 2 years ago from Seattle I think as an overager. With a last name like that his nick has to be Hog or is it Hawg?
ReplyDeleteGnarly Davidson
DeleteG Y F H G ! ~~~
ReplyDeleteBills having fun.
ReplyDeleteI see that. Washington Football Team and the Bungles are tied...
DeleteI know one thing, Lane Hutson is too good for the AHL. He is in Montreal to stay.
ReplyDeleteFast Lane !
DeleteWeird that the network that has the nhl rights isn’t showing a minute by minute update on the Habs pre-game. Funny, they did it yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI know, too soon, but a PIT vs. BUF AFC final would be lit.
ReplyDeleteSavvy!
ReplyDeleteCondotta with the "3rd assist"
DeleteHeineman! Assisted by the Good B-B (Barre-Boulet, as opposed to the fucker killing all the moms and kids in Lebanon).
ReplyDeleteGood stuff SIM !
DeletePowerhorse!
ReplyDeletePowerHorse! He's back!
ReplyDeleteLots of good things about Oliver Kapanen.
ReplyDeleteEasy nickname … OK.
Heh, I was thinking 'Twist'.
DeleteI need more!
Delete#72 should really be JackHammer, since that describes his physical game, his shit and where he's from. Never liked Wifi or Sheriff
Delete*shot, not shit. But I wouldn't bet against that landing hard in the shitter either, lol
DeleteNever liked WiFi, Sheriff is good, I always liked just 'AX'.
DeleteAX !
DeleteHuGo have built us a fun team. Gonna be interesting around these parts.
ReplyDeleteThey are going to surprise the SFU talking heads and the Vegas bookies.
ReplyDeleteSFU has no idea. Literally.
DeleteGood B-B!
ReplyDeletePoulet !
DeleteThat Kapanen - Heineman - ABB line was the best trio all night long. 2 of the 3 got stars along with Fast Lane who was #1. A shared shutout by CP30 and Dobie Gillis, great way to start the season. We have suffered the last 3 years but I feel the Habs are about to turn the corner.
ReplyDeletePre-season or not phuck da phlyers.
ReplyDeleteNFL tv mouthpieces cheering for a scum team like Dallas is very SFU. Fuck those 🤡 s.
ReplyDelete“He played an excellent game. I tip my hat to our scouting staff. I didn’t know (Oliver) Kapanen. It’s not just him, we have a lot of talented, young players. They more or less all stood out tonight…it’s fun to have this depth of talented (young) players.”
ReplyDelete- Coach Marty
Only saw the highlights but things are looking tentatively seriously up
DeleteOK looked really OK
Could be conditioning but he had moves
Also I think the hype machine should tone it down a bit on fast lane
He’s just a kid and this place can crush you
Overall we are spinning the right way
It’s been a bit of a wait but I think we are emerging from the darkness into the light
We are being carefully crafted and steered by intelligent competent people
It’s a new dawn people
Go Habs
Good to see Pomme back in Montreal. Hope he does well with NJ.
ReplyDeleteIf you can stomach the incredible Toronto bias, the TSN Overdrive guys are in Montreal for the golf tournament this week. They talked quite a bit about the Habs tonight. Jeff Gorton is going to be on the show tomorrow.
Hey! Honda Civic is in NJ too!
ReplyDeleteHah! So funny hearing RDS's Houde catch himself saying "Camellarri, excusez, Caufield" whenever #13 is on the puck.
ReplyDeletePez!
ReplyDeleteNature ! ~~~
ReplyDeleteNature!
ReplyDeletePez, empty net!
ReplyDeleteIn 120 min. pre-season hockey played, no goals allowed yet.
ReplyDeleteRDS, still showcasing low level morons like flynn brunet and therrien. Collectively slagging Habs very young D.
ReplyDelete~~~
The young D that hasn't given up a goal yet?
DeleteThey complained they weren’t offensive enough.
DeleteThese bozos on Overdrive complaining about sitting in the hotel bar in Montreal and ask the bartender to put the leaf game on and he gives them a flat out NO...mind you they did also say they respect the denial.
ReplyDeleteShould’ve asked to put on the sens game.
Delete~~~
So they’re in Montreal and they are sitting in the bar at the hotel
DeleteOooooo such adventure
Hayes and what are the other two leaf blowers o-dog and noodles I believe
Off on their own in a city packed with eateries and awesome bars and they’re sitting in the hotel
Nuff said
Go Habs
Jeff Gorton used the phrase 'in the mix' again.
ReplyDeleteI think that's fair that they need to take a step and move up the standings, and yes be in the mix for a playoff spot. I think they have a great shot at a wild card if they stay healthy.
But next year it's time, without question. Playoffs or bust.
The following year they begin to be perennial contenders, hopefully bringing it home.
Cool. Michel Lacroix will be announcing the players at the golf tourney.
ReplyDeleteThe leaves will be trotting out their NHL lineup tonight they say. Minus captain underpants and some other leaf. Patches The Traitor will be in leaf uniform they say. Marty will be keeping his powder dry. I'm liking the matchup. We will be dressing lots of prospects up front and lots of heavies in the back.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this. First game on the road in the mausoleum to boot.
Bring it on.
Go Habs
Can I be first to say: Fuck the leaf!
ReplyDeleteThank You.
ReplyDeleteI’m up for this one just the way it is
DeleteI’m thinking our D is what’s being tested tonight
If we’re gonna score great but let’s see what the D is capable of
Those smelly leaves can score so we’ll see what’s what
Besides we also have NFL and a hurricane if things go down the pooper
But if they run us out of the mausoleum doesn’t say much for our defense
Go Habs
You are probably right about testing the D. The oldest one is AX and he will be tasked with keeping Fast Lane safe from Reeves as well. The stinky leaves will no doubt try to run up the score as they are 0-2 to start the pre-season and the tranna natives are getting restless already. It could get ugly.
DeleteAt 23 and < 100 pro games played, Ax is our senior d-man tonight. Heh!
DeleteWe’ll I’m thinking if that cromagnon reeveees wants to dance it’s gonna be Strudel time
ReplyDeleteAx man doesn’t have to dance to someone’s song he’s a proven commodity we’ll pick our own spots thank you
Is the egg man a face puncher?
I think not so it’s definitely Strudel time
Anyway
I’d like to see our D men rise up and shut down the leaf and maybe that capo kid can pop a couple or maybe fast lane
Is full Monty in nets?
Go Habs
Jakob Dobis, aka Dobie Gillis is in net.
DeleteI operate in many differant areans. Its no problem bro. Let hockey be that brotherly. Let the Russkies free. Our clown PM has suggested he will cure all traffic problems by building the worlds longest tunnel by 3 times in Toronto. So where do the cars exit you PEE PEE. Plus he loves the leafs .
ReplyDeleteMaybe we get to see AX ragdoll that has-been Reaves again.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense that Max finally ended up in Toronto. Ran his surname through the Italian to English translated and it means Losers Since
ReplyDeletehttps://www.flickr.com/photos/grilledcheese/7619973918
Hah!
DeleteThat's a learning moment for Strobelight and Popcorn.
ReplyDeleteTO fans are on valium or what? You never hear a peep when a Leaf makes a goid defensive play, or anything smart on the ice - just when their guys get a shot on net. Dumbass Fanbase.
ReplyDeleteI’m liking rino
ReplyDeleteGo Habs
Devo! On a vintage MaxPac screw-up!
ReplyDeleteRDS team pointing out this the fourth team in four years for MaxPac. He's the dick who don't stick. Perfect fit for TO
ReplyDeleteDobes is good. With Fowler and the Russian kid in the pipeline too, it will be an interesting bit to keep an eye on the next few years.
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteI liked the look of dobbie
Square calm and challenges the shooter with Fowler the ruskie and the two we have now
The net seems solid
We have to remember that this was basically the leaf we were playing tonight without most of us so good on les boyz
Laid a couple of sold hits as well
Just a feeling but I’m thinking Barron von clumsy is not long for us he seems to be more focused on skating around in the offensive zone than being a crushing D man
He’s too delicate
Anyway CHesters thoughts
Go Habbies
I saw better stuff from Strobelight and FastLane than Red Baron tonight. As always, the Barron can't handle reception of the puck at the opposition blue line. He seems to be easily pressured into fumbles and it's like he's battling himself in those situations - and nobidy's winning. It must frustrate his teammates to no end.
DeleteCowdungboys currently leading the Giants 14-6 in the 2nd quarter.
ReplyDeleteWatched the 3rd episode of 'The Rebuild'. I like Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes more and more. Smart duo who are going to win in Montreal in the next few years.
Dobes was awesome. The team in front of him was pretty much outmatched and he kept them in it to the end. Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteR.i.P. Maggie Smith
ReplyDeleteA true legend. May she rest in peace.
DeleteYep was hoping that Baron Von Clumsy was going to turn it around and be part of that top 6 so. Hab could host a Stanley Cup parade here in Halifax one day in the not too distant future. But I think it's not in the cards for him.
ReplyDeleteInteresting though because I'm pretty sure he signed a one way contract so he would be claimed on waivers if sent to the minors.
DeleteLA lost big D. Matheson to La for Kaylioff and a 2 nd make it so
ReplyDeleteMnM is going no where. Same for Big Savvy, if the Habs want to 'be in the mix' they need those two guys. Kaliyev is hurt I believe anyway Besides, HuGo has to trade a forward to make room for Kapo or Beck. I'm keeping the Pez, love that guy.
DeleteYup
DeleteGotta keep The Pez he has a unique skill set
Dunno if capo is ready for the show
He looked great against the rookies but wasn’t sure if he played against the leaf
However Mr Beck looks ready
And I agree about keeping MnM and maybe Savvy but I’m sure a deal will come to Hugo to pry Savvy away but I think we need to package up a von klumsy devo deal to make room for the beckster and either Logan or Rino
I think it’s important to package klumsy before he gets stale
Capo can wait for army to expire
He needs another year to grow
Anyway
I should sleep
Go Habs
I'm not sure Savvy is going anywhere. A lot of that is just media speculation and armchair GMs wishful thinking. He wants to stay in Montreal. If, IF, the team is 'in the mix' come the TDL, HuGo will be a buyer, not a seller. He has more draft picks than he knows what to do with. He will use those picks as ammo in any trade deals that come along to help make the playoffs if that scenario arises.
DeleteCoach Marty is not wasting any time getting his squad ready. He knows who he wants on his team and wants to come out of the gate flying and put up as many points as possible right off the bat. Looks like some of the young guns will have to wait another year and that's OK.
ReplyDeleteG Y F H G ! !
Fuck the leaf.
Two men down already. It never ends.
ReplyDeleteThat looked bad. Wool could be done before he even starts ffs.
DeleteFuck the leaf and fuck the refs.
I would say Wool is gone for the season.
